“Andrea takes such good care of our dogs - we just got back from a four day trip- Andrea sent us pictures and updates everyday on the dogs. I think they will miss her, so I feel bad for them now! As well as being great with the animals, she is very respectful of our home. Thanks again, Andrea! We are so glad we found you!”

“Gina was wonderful with our new puppy for a weekend home stay. She was courteous, professional, and provided multiple updates. Very thoughtful and treated our house with respect. We can’t wait to book Gina again!”

About: Hi, I’m Bernadette! Caring for animals isn’t just something I’ve done my entire life—it's something I love. I’m a former pet shop owner and have been a professional pet sitter for over 30 years. I’ve cared for just about every kind of pet (from horses to mice), but dogs have always been my faves. I offer: 🐾 Little Dog daycare in my home 🐾 Little Dog Overnight Boarding in my home 🐾 Drop-in visits to your home within Graton for dogs, cats, and other pets 🐾 Occasionally I'm available to house sit when I don't have any boarders booked My home is conveniently located near the Graton town center, serving West Sonoma County, CA. A Cozy, Calm Environment for Small Dogs: I specialize in small dogs (up to 15 lbs), with occasional exceptions. Senior dogs very are welcome! Your friendly, quiet little companion will enjoy spending time with my two sweet senior dogs in a peaceful home setting. Because I live in close proximity to neighbors, I’m not able to accept frequent barkers. Comfort & Safety First: Dogs have access to a secure, fenced yard for fresh air and exercise. I let dogs out at least every couple of hours during the day. I supervise outdoor time carefully. Overnight rates cover a full 24-hour period. Since I work from home, I’m almost always around—which means your dog receives consistent supervision, attention, and care. I’m happy to accommodate most special needs with advance discussion. (Sadly, due to my new living situation, I can no longer take puppies unless they are very calm, reliably house trained, and able to wear a diaper or relax in a crate when in the house.) IMPORTANT: To help visiting pups settle in, I require dogs to wear a diaper initially, until I’m confident they’re reliably house-trained (new environments can trigger marking behaviors, especially in males). If your dog eats raw food, please provide it pre-portioned into individual meals (I'm vegan and prefer not to handle raw meat). Bringing their own bed is highly recommended to help them feel secure and comfortable. The only other things they need are a leash and food. Most dogs relax and settle in within a few hours—and they receive plenty of love. If you’re looking for a calm, attentive, experienced home environment for your small dog, I’d love to meet you both! 🐶 NOTE: Mr. Q, my blue and gold macaw, prefers dogs who don't try to eat him! I work from home, so I'm almost always around to interact with your pets. Most dogs love coming here and can't wait to get in the front door! Little dogs enjoy hanging out in my quiet home and fenced yard with my two mellow old pups. Even most dogs with separation anxiety quickly relax and have fun. It's like a doggie play date!
“Thank you, Holly for your service in watching Ryder and being with him. Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. I loved the pictures you sent from the trips you made to the park. My brother said rides in the car are what he lives for. I appreciate your efforts to entertain him. It helps so much to be relieved knowing there is someone there for him. He gets lonely so easily.”

“Excellent Experience with Blake. She pet sit my 2 dogs over Thanksgiving and did a wonderful job taking care of the boys and the house. She kept us informed of how they were doing and kept the routine they are used to so there was minimal stress. One of my dogs is older and blind and she did a great job of keeping him feeling safe and happy. We returned to happy dogs and a super clean house. We highly recommend Blake based on this experience. We will absolutely use her again when we need to go out of town without the dogs!”

“Olivia did an amazing job taking care of our four pups, which includes a senior French bulldog, two very sweet, but very large and powerful Dogo Argentinos, and a second, very mischievous escape artist French bulldog. She took time to understand each dog’s unique personality and tailors her care to each. She was also extremely communicative, and sent us pics multiple times a day. Highly recommend!”

“I cannot say enough wonderful things about Rithy! She is timely, communicative and treats your pet like they’re her own. This was my first time using Rover and I feel lucky to have found Rithy. She stayed with Clover for the weekend, texted me photos of their adventures, and she made homemade food for Clover! I think they both had a great weekend together.”

“Michele is awesome! She is extremely pleasant and very responsive, her calendar is up to date, and she provided ongoing updates throughout her stay with our dog Bebe. We felt extremely comfortable leaving our home and dog with her and we plan to utilize Michele for ongoing trips.”

“Lucy was so great! We had a last-minute request that she was able to accommodate, she was great at communicating and sent us cute pics of our pup Capri, and Capri loved her! Would definitely book again (:”

“Such an amazing experience having Nyah watch our dogs and staying at our house. Nyah shared photos and videos of the dogs chilling out with her and on walks. One of our dogs is a finicky eater and Cooper ate all of his meals. When we arrived home, the dogs were completely relaxed and greeted us like we had only been gone a couple of hours. Besides the dogs Nyah was a fantastic house guest. Such a fantastic find. Thank you Nyah!!”

“Alex is terrific -- and having him housesit with our cat TK is a joy. Alex gives the cat love and TK reciprocates -- that's clear from the photos Alex sends showing the cat snuggled up next to him (or sitting on Alex's computer, demanding attention). Alex also played sitting-tag with a friend, who came for several days, and coordinated with her so that care for the cat and watering of our garden went seamlessly. Finally, TK had a few puking incidents. While TK did not apologize to Alex, I did. Alex's response? "No worries! Animals doing animal things." He's a great sitter with a sense of humor.”

“We highly recommend Lauren to watch your fur baby. We initially reached out to Lauren to see if she could watch our sweet old girl (19 y.o. dog); she responded within 15 minutes confirming that she was available. A few days before, Lauren stopped by our apartment to receive our key and meet our pup. She brought a notebook to write down all instructions / important notes. Her demeaning was soft and positive, and already we knew she was a great fit. On the day of our leave, Lauren was in regular correspondence about her timing and about activities with our girl. She took a few picture updates. Everything went very smooth. She clearly had no problem watching our elderly dog. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to watch your loved one fur pup, elderly or otherwise.”

“It was our first time having Mia watch our two Siberian Huskies. One can be very stand-offish and Mia understood her personality. She sent texts with pix of our happy dogs. She was a pleasure to meet and the dogs did great with a new person in the house! I will definitely use Mia again.”

“Erik was both proactive and responsive, and most importantly, he loved and took great care of our dog and house. He handled things independently, but was also a great communicator. We can’t wait to invite him back!”

“Excellent in every way! Great communication, regular photos and updates, on time and organized, and left the house as clean as it was when we left. Solved years worth of anxiety and pet sitting conundrums for us!”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Freestone walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Freestone maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Freestone choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
