About: I’ve had cats, dogs, hamsters, birds and rabbits my entire life. I’ve had special needs cats that require specialized care including giving fluids to a kitty with kidney disease. I’m educated in what to look for indicating signs of illness and am comfortable and experienced giving medications. I am self-employed so my schedule revolves around whatever pet sitting, dog walking or other services I have scheduled. I’m usually available for 24 hour a day care if needed. I have dogs and cats of my own, so I generally only pet sit for rodents and cats that I can keep in a separate part of my home. Dogs would have to have a pre-care meeting with my animals to make sure that they get along.

We felt completely at ease the entire trip knowing our rather needy pups were being well cared for and receiving much love and attention. Rachel was communicative, but not overwhelming, sending us pictures with updates on how the dogs were adapting and growing more and more comfortable with her. When she experienced plumbing issues, she took it in stride. She let us know, and then offered to call the plumber for us (which we appreciated, but did not need to burden her with). We came home to happy, relaxed pups, laundered linens, and a cleaner kitchen than we left her with! We will readily call Rachel the next time we travel.”

About: I’ve been obsessed with dogs my whole life. Growing up on a ranch, I was constantly surrounded by pups, some mine, some rescues, and all full of personality. I’ve cared for big dogs, nervous dogs, high-energy goofballs, and everything in between. I used to have a Great Pyrenees and a whole crew of German Shepherds, and now I’m just really missing having dogs around. I always follow any feeding, walking, and medication instructions to a T, and I’ll keep you updated with pics and notes so you never have to wonder how your pup is doing. I don't have dogs at home right now, so your pup will get my full attention without competition or stress. Whether your dog needs playtime, snuggles, or just someone calm and loving to hang with, I’m your girl! I work full-time from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, which means I’m available for evening check-ins, walks, or playtime during the week. I’m also free most weekends and would love to spend that time hanging out with your pets. Whether it’s a quick visit, a post-work walk, or some weekend company, I’m happy to help however I can! I know firsthand how important our animals are—they’re family. As a pet parent myself, I completely understand how nerve-wracking it can be to trust someone new with your pet. About: I have been dog sitting for years but started Rover in 2022. I started out caring for my two pugs and cat, and have been sitting for family, friends, and folks on Rover. I am currently working as an overnight nursing assistant on Sunday-Tuesday, so I have plenty of time to take care and play with your pet! The rest of the days I am here to help, so they can get all the love and attention they can get while you’re away! When I am at a client’s home I make sure fencing is secured if needed. My home has a fence as well. I also make sure they have enough place to play whether it could be inside or out. I prefer to be outside with them! I love being active with animals but if you’re pet is somewhat a couch potato OR old, I can comfort them in whatever way they feel comfortable.

About: I've always been a "dog person" and my family always had dogs when I was young. They have been mysteriously important to me, but I didn't understand why until I got my first puppy Atlas; my entire perspective on dogs, humans, and how we live with them has changed! I've been so affected by this that I'm considering becoming a professional trainer and Rover is my 2nd (or 3rd?) step in that direction. I'm now obsessed with learning about their behavior, communication, teaching techniques etc. and I've been studying daily since he arrived in our lives last year. I consider almost every moment a learning opportunity for us and them! If house-sitting, I'm happy to take care of plants/gardens as a trained horticulturist, and I'm also a mycologist, so I am teaching my pup to find mushrooms. "Scent work" is so cool! I'm the go-to pet sitter for my friends when they travel and I'm the trusted coparent of Nori - sometimes for months at a time - the Kelpie/Terrier pictured in my profile. In short, I think pet care and "training" is going on 100% of the time as our animal friends watch us and their environment and make their associations - positive and negative. So "pet care" is something I'm trying to always attune towards. I exercise/walk/run/play/teach with my pup Atlas every morning, afternoon and evening before/during/after the days we go to my very flexible job on 220 acres in Occidental (usually T, W & Th.) Atlas usually comes with me and gets to be outside almost full time and there is a pool for hot days. Friday - Monday I work from home. On these days we do our morning thing, and usually 2-4 other outings throughout the day: car rides, parks, Dillon Beach, etc. I'm big on focused exercise/teaching and then rest alternating through the day. I care for pets by listening to their body language and watching for their communication signals (to me and their environment) with the highest priorities being comfort, happiness, trust and safety. And I'm happy to shape-shift to whatever style, skills, requirements you have found to be most effective for your pets. That said, I generally don't like pain-based or coercion/dominance styles of teaching, however this does not mean I won't set boundaries! I am most interested in listening to our animal friends and having a loving/cooperative relationship. I am regularly asked if I'm a professional trainer because of how I am with my puppy, but I just started my journey into that title! I think having a pet, especially a dog, is such a huge gift and responsibility, and I'm always trying to remain in integrity around this and honor them and how amazing they are!

About: I have had animals from cats to goats, from dogs to chickens. I have worked at a pet resort in Rohnert Park, CA caring, feeding and playing with dogs of all sizes. I have bottle fed kittens and have had experience delivering kids, baby goats on our family farm in California. I don’t work at the moment and have plenty of time to play and care for animals. Living alone makes it an even easier fit into my routine. I have a fenced yard in he back of my home, a large living area both upstairs and downstairs, 4 bedrooms and plenty of room to play and make food, prepare dishes or clean up. I have all the essentials for keeping a tidy home for the safety of all animals and people. I live alone, my son comes for winter break and so this gives me plenty of space.

About: I love all animals! I have experience with dogs, cats, cows, reptiles (mainly snakes), chickens, ducks, rodents (rats, mice, hamster), rabbits, sheep, goats, birds, etc! I love connecting with each animal in their unique ways, I truly believe we have a lot to learn from these compassionate beings. It's my pleasure to make them feel safe, loved, well fed and fully exercised! I am happy to offer extra services that include picking up or dropping off (you provide crate), giving medications orally or topically (I don't do injections), brushing fur, cleaning litter boxes, feeding your other animals, etc. Please don't hesitate to ask for more help, I'm here for you and your pet! I don't have a lot of experience with disabled or very old animals but I'm willing to learn what their specific and special needs are. I have had older dogs in my life so I do have a basic grasp on their needs but everyone is unique! I mostly work remote from home with the occasional pop into the warehouse once or twice a week. My schedule can be pretty flexible for the most part! I'll gladly learn the typical schedule you have with your pet so that they feel their care is secure and stable. Time of feeding, length of walk, treats, etc. Just let me know and I'll do my best to make you both feel considered and cared for. I'm not currently doing doggy day care or boarding. Eventually I will offer that service again! I might be open to it on a case by case basis.
