“Another great pet sitting experience with Lauren! Luna and Juice (my dog and cat) are always relaxed, calm and happy after Lauren has spent time with them! She's super responsive, sends updates and pictures, and takes care of everything around my house...and always leaves it very clean! Lauren also seems to genuinely enjoy spending time with my furry friends, and for that I am very grateful! I always feel 100% comfortable and confident when Lauren is my pet and house sitter! Thank you, Lauren!”

“Jillian house/pet sit overnight for us and our pup Copper. She was wonderful with Copper and I loved that she texted many pictures and comments with how he was doing. I highly recommend Jillian for any pet care needed.”

“Veronica and Jeremy were excellent house and dog sitters. They kept us posted with reports and pictures and left the house spotless and immaculate as if they never were there. Would unconditionally recommend!”
“Tania did a great job taking care of our senior pup who suffers from separation anxiety and doesn’t like to take her meds. Tania was prompt, easy to communicate with before and during her stay, sent lots of pictures, and left our house immaculate. We will definitely use her again.”

About: I'm an animal-loving, dog mom who wants nothing more than to spend all her free time with the furry friends! I've adopted and cared for many dogs, and from childhood I helped raise my family dogs and hamsters :) Very few things bring me the same level of joy as the animals do. I know the importance of traveling or working without the stress of how your pet will be taken care of-and I'd love to help make your life easier by tending to your babies while you're away. I have a remote job which makes me very available to stop in for walks and hugs, or to spend the entire day/night with your loved ones. Have computer will travel, so I'm very free! I will always abide by your house rules for your pets and give them extra love and affection while I'm watching them. I'm also happy to do light training while with your pets if that is helpful!
“Nikki took great care of Blissy and it was a pleasure not worrying about our dog while we were gone. House was spotless upon return and doggie was happy. Thanks so much! Nikki is the best.”

“Devan was a great dog and house sitter while we were away. Our dog Reese seemed very happy and secure. They seemed to get along well Devan asked great questions which made us feel better about leaving our dog in the hands with someone new. Place looked great when we returned home. Devan was communicative and easy work with. I highly recommend.”

“We are so fortunate to have found a capable, confident, positive, ready-for-anything companion for our handful of a dog! Andrea met our dog’s needs and handled his quirks with aplomb. Her daily photos and our dog’s happy, healthy appearance on our return confirmed our initial impressions of Andrea. She is a timely and forthright communicator who provided us with peace of mind when we were far from home. We are grateful!”

“Elika did an incredible job watching my two large dogs (who can be a real handful, especially with strangers). She clearly is comfortable with animals, and made me feel at ease.”

“Dorothy was awesome. Very communicative, our dogs loved Dorothy and our home was in great condition when we returned. We loved all of the updates & photos we received but especially loved how comfortable we felt with having Dorothy in our house & taking care of our dogs!”

“Susan did a wonderful job taking care of our dogs and cats for the weekend. They were well cared for and well loved, as her adorable pictures showed. She was extremely trustworthy, a great communicator and went above and beyond caring for the animals and our house. We are so lucky to have found her and can’t wait to have her come again!”

“Lexie is a wonderful dog sitter. She has tons of experience with and loves dogs, and they love her back. My girls were well taken care of during my recent trip, and Lexie kept in touch with me throughout my trip. I've already booked her for another stay!”

About: Animal caretaker at horse ranches, farms, and house pets with a lifetime of experience. Horse mom and dog mom to a very sweet 9 yr old Rottie-Shepard named Leif. Self-employed, so I spend all my time with my own pup. He loves playing with other dogs, so we want to host some furry friends! We live on 1/2 acre with a deck for napping on and a nice yard full of sticks and tennis balls. Several big dog beds. Right next to walking trail. Potty breaks can be on leash, on tie out, or off leash with supervision depending on owner preference. Have medium and XL crates available for use, but bring what makes your dog comfortable. All good dogs with parent permission that are allowed car rides may get dog park trips, easy hikes, or beach days depending on our schedule and the weather. Puppies and senior dogs welcome. I understand complex feeding schedules and medication and am happy to stick to your routine. Photo and video updates daily. Your dog will be tired and happy when you get home! I’m a self-employed, part-time remote work from home weekday mornings and local gigging musician on weekends, gone for around to 3-4 hours. Wifi camera set up with access on my phone, with microphone and speaker. My yard is mostly fenced, except for the front of the driveway. I live on the back part of 1/2 acre that is fenced. Dogs will be supervised for potty breaks, on leash or off depending on owner preference and behavior. Can also supervise on tie out for potty-shy dogs. Play on the yard and between dogs is supervised with walks on bike trail and adventures to nearby parks when allowed.
“Michelle is responsive, kind, showed up for everything on time and was flexible when I needed to rearrange. She took great care of Ziggy. I could tell how happy he was when I returned home. Everything was in order at the house and I will definitely use her again and highly recommend anyone else who wants a great conscientious Dog Sitter?.”

“Cora is fantastic. Have booked her twice and the second time threw in a new kitten we had just adopted as an added challenge, and on top of that our older cat got a bit ill sneaking too much kitten food. Cora was so good with both of them the week we were gone and is very communicative and caring. Very thankful we found her.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of September 2026, there are 644 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Carmet. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Carmet walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Carmet maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Carmet choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Carmet. On Rover:
- 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
