Wonderful first time with our pup! Our youngster was happy and relaxed and accepted Jillian as his new friend. She took great care of him (with plays, potty breaks, and a watchful eye) while we were away.

Lynnette is one of the best I've seen with animals. My dog Mavis is a retired service dog. She is temperamental and slow to warm to people. Lynnette is the first person I've seen Mavis interact with who could sit with and pet her, in the first 5 minutes. Mavis was so at home with Lynnette and tried to guard Lynnette when I arrived to bring her home. Lynnette played, walked, and relaxed with Mavis. She sent me updates, pictures, and videos of Mavis having a wonderful vacation. She has an enclosed yard that allows dogs to safely explore outside. I highly recommend Lynnette!

Angelina is incredible!! She went above and beyond to connect with our dog Stella and shower her with love and activity while we were away. She took Stella on tons of walks and hikes, to the dog park, took amazing care of our home and garden (leaving it so clean for our return), and sent us tons of updates and photos of Stella which we appreciated so much. Angelina is super personable, trustworthy, conscientious, and Stella loved her which is always the best sign. We would ask Angelina to dogsit/housesit again in a heartbeat.

About: To start off, I grew up with dogs and cats— and am very good at reading body language. I have been cat and dog sitting since the age of twelve, and as of 1 year ago have over 200 hours of volunteering at Sonoma County Animal Services. There I walk, feed, play with, and clean dogs and cats of all kind. So I am very qualified and would love a chance to take care of your furry friends! I have flexible hours as my classes are coming to an end, I can discuss times that will work for me but overall am open to working out a set schedule! I have two dogs and one cat, they are taken care of very well. As mentioned before I also volunteer with dogs and cats and have seen about every type of behavior a person can think of— I am a very responsible and kind person and pride myself on how trustworthy I am.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Rithy! She is timely, communicative and treats your pet like they’re her own. This was my first time using Rover and I feel lucky to have found Rithy. She stayed with Clover for the weekend, texted me photos of their adventures, and she made homemade food for Clover! I think they both had a great weekend together.

Alex went above and beyond on his first overnight with our cat TK. After an initial meeting, he asked questions to be sure he understood our cat and our house. On his visit he sent oodles of photos, our 9-yr-old TK looking completely relaxed and having fun. We returned to a happy, calm and collected cat and our house perfectly taken care of. We've already booked Alex for 2 more chunks of time later this month. Responsive, understanding, conscientious. Oh--and he's so upbeat. So glad to have him in our TK family now.

About: What sets me apart is my high energy, adaptability, and genuine attentiveness to each pet’s unique needs. Whether it’s an energetic kitten, a shy senior cat, or a playful pup, I adjust my care style to match their personality and routine. I’m not just here to feed and walk I’m here to make sure your pet feels safe, loved, and comfortable while you’re away. I take pride in creating a calm and fun environment, giving you peace of mind and your pet a new best friend. As a student with an open and flexible schedule, I’m able to easily fit pet care into my daily routine. I have the time and availability to provide consistent, reliable care throughout the week. I make sure pets feel comfortable and safe, whether they're in my home or theirs. I follow their usual routines as closely as possible—feeding schedules, walk times, play, and any special instructions. I'm attentive to their behavior and needs, and I always keep the space clean, calm, and pet-friendly. My goal is to create a low-stress, positive environment while you're away.

Christopher is a true dog lover and I feel fortunate to have found him to take care of my pack whenever I’m not around. I have a lot of attendant anxiety when trying to pair my dogs with a suitable sitter- for no other reason than that they need a lot of exercise and ask for a lot of attention. Christopher alleviated every ounce of attendant stress experienced by leaving my dogs in someone’s care. He took my dogs on outings, updated me with charming photos and was completely unflappable when it came to managing two high energy and young labs along with a corgi who needs to herd everyone to feel fulfilled. On top of all of this, Christopher took excellent care of my home- maybe even leaving it cleaner than I did for him. 5 stars for Christopher, absolutely!

About: I grew up in a neighborhood my friends used to call “the farm”. We had 3 dogs, one neighbor had chickens, one neighbor had horses, and another neighbor had goats. Along with various dogs and cats at each house. Because I was the oldest kid in the neighborhood, I was the go-to person anytime a neighbor needed a house sitter or even just needed me to feed their pet dinner since they were out late. When I got older and started driving, I began dog sitting for our large group of friends, taking care of all sizes of dogs, cats, and the occasional reptile. Although I work part-time, I am generally available 7 days a week for house sitting. I am willing to accommodate crazy schedules and last minute plans if need be. I have a small home but a big yard, so while I can’t accommodate boarding, I have a large outdoor space and my own pup that is eager for play dates during the day. As for house sitting, I provide attentive, personalized care in my client’s home so your pets can stay comfortable in their familiar environment. I follow each pet’s routine closely. With my history in the animal health field, I am comfortable administering any medications if needed. As a person who values communication, I provide regular ‘pupdates’ and pictures so owners feel confident their pets are happy, safe, and well cared for.

Annalisa is a warm, responsible, reliable sitter who provided excellent care for our home and dog. We felt totally comfortable leaving Daisy in her care, and Daisy became so fond of her that she hated to see her go. We would certainly hire Annalisa again, and we highly recommend her to others in West Sonoma.

Kyle was awesome to have at my home and stay with our 3 little dogs. Jack Russel Poodle, Bischon Poodle and Havanese. It can be a handful getting them rounded up, taking them for 3 or 4 walks a day, putting them to bed a night. Kyle was a master and showed them the love and attention that they are accustomed to. We tried to provide him 5 star accommodations and he in turn was an immaculate house guest showing great care and respect for our home.

FAQs for House Sitting - Jenner

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of June 2026, there are 597 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Jenner. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Jenner walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Jenner maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Jenner choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Jenner. On Rover:

  • 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 94% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
