About: I began my seriously joyous devotion to animals at the age of 11, as an SF ZOO volunteer in the barnyard, where I learned to care for a variety of animals, from miniature horses to coyotes to parrots, and more. My husband (a social worker) and I are both dog lovers and have a dog (a Frenchie) as well. About: I’ve had cats my entire life and understand them well. My sweet kitty just passed away at 20 years old and I’d love to help take care of yours. I frequently travel for work for weeks on end, but when I am home and able to cat-sit, my schedule can be completely flexible. Day / night. Since I only offer cat-sitting, I doubt that this section about my own house will matter much. Cats don’t like to be relocated for temporary purposes.

I confess, I’m also the lady that will remember your dog’s name, age and origins, but perhaps not always your name. Although I have the confidence and experience to befriend your big dogs, that shouldn’t suggest that I don’t love our smaller friends, as well. Big and small, I love them all❣️ I’ve been responsible for animals most of my life. Chiefly, I’ve had the privilege to care and own big dogs. Growing up, we had a Sheppard-Mastiff mix, and that’s when my love for big dogs began. In our house, we had a macaw, cockatoo, kākāriki, ring-necked parakeet, and a cockatiel, tropical/ saltwater fish, dogs, and cats. After my last Rottweiler passed away, I wanted to care for a dog again, but haven’t adopted quite yet. I enjoy hiking, outdoor activities, walking and traveling, and of course dogs! About: I’ve always loved cats and dogs I could never pick a side. I had a Chihuahua growing up and currently have a cat called Bonbon. So I know how to take care of both dogs and cats. I understand cats enjoy their space while dogs don’t understand that word. Currently, I have two rescue Shar-Pei (the wrinkly-faced dogs), and they are the loves of my life. My approach to caring for my dogs is exactly how I would care for your animals. While your fur children are in my care, they are treated with love and respect, and care instructions will be honored to the T (no matter how long or extensive). I think the instructions I leave for our sitter are ~3 pages long, so I won't judge! I have experience with young animals and the elderly, and have administered medications for both dogs and cats. I would describe myself as a very vigilant pet parent, meaning I take pride in my awareness. For example, when walking my dogs, I always put safety first, watch for cars and other animals, and stay aware of my surroundings. I pay attention. I'm the kind of person who often checks the perimeter of my fenced yard, has multiple dog cameras, makes sure there are no ways out, and double-checks the gate locks. I know it might sound like I'm a helicopter parent, and that might just be a fact. Shar Peis are a stubborn (and amazing) breed of dog, but they notoriously require this level of attention, so I am going to credit my sweet dogs for training me to be the ultimate caretaker. Fun fact: I've had Shar Pei for the past 20 years! I'm here to meet your animals where they are when we are together - if they want to hang out, cuddle, play, and be goofy, great! But if they just want to chill on their own, I will respect their space.

In the past I have worked as a pet and house sitter for a couple families. I always enjoy any time spent with animals. I have flexible schedule making me available to care for your fur babies! About: I have experience caring for multiple dogs at a time, including caring for three dogs in one household and two dogs in another. I was responsible for their daily care and making sure they were safe, fed, exercised, and comfortable. Managing several dogs at once taught me how to stay patient, attentive, and organized, even when they were energetic or had different personalities and needs. I only have a college class twice a week for only one hour of my day and I have a part-time job that is only certain days of the week. There are no kids in my house. My husky mix recently passed away suddenly in October and I miss her so much... Her name was Lily and she lived for her 2x/day walks. I do work full time and I am gone 8-5 unfortunately. So weekends would be best for me. I’d be willing to do weekdays but you would have to be comfortable with me being gone during the day. I would take them on 2-3 walks per day.. 1 in the morning before work and 1 as soon as I get home from work. Unfortunately I don’t have a yard, just a small deck. If it’s a cat, I would make sure they had care and attention when I am home.

About: I have cared for a wide variety of animals over the years. I spent several years volunteering at a veterinary clinic and later at a humane society, where I gained hands-on experience in animal care, handling, and support. I telework so I am at home most of the day. When I do leave, dogs hang out in the dog run where they have access to comfy beds, toys and access to an upstairs patio where they can keep an eye on all the goings-on. I have a fully fenced yard that provides a safe, secure space for dogs to run, play, or relax comfortably. I provide supervised playtime in the yard several times a day and at least one 20-30 minute walk around the neighborhood.
About: Walks through Armstrong Redwoods are a favorite activity. I have a large yard and a dog friendly house. I have a couple of years experience working in a veterinary clinic giving me experience medicating animals, including giving injections. I have a pool for dogs who love to swim! I was a volunteer and puppy raiser for Canine Companions for Independence back in the mid to late 1980's, and a Puppy Petter for Assistance Dog Institute in the early 2000's. I've also kept busy with boarding in my home for friends and acquaintances. I love dogs!! I have Sundays and Mondays off from my full time job, but I can fit in a nice walk after 4 pm most other days. When I have someone's dog, they get my full attention; we play, exercise, snuggle.
