“Karen was wonderful with my dog while I was out of town for the weekend. My scheduled sitter had something come up last minute and I was lucky enough to find Karen available! I came home to a very happy and well-taken care of pup!”

“This past week, we had our first ever experience using Rover. I’ll admit, we were hesitant to have, for lack of better terms, a stranger staying in our home taking care of our two dogs. As soon as we met Robin at the meet and greet, the hesitancy fell away. She stayed in our home for four nights and the way she communicated, how she very clearly loved on our babies, and the care, attention, and commitment she showed to the job was evident from moment one. Robin sent countless photos and videos while we were away and each one only showed how much she cared. Not to mention, our boys looked as happy and as comfortable as could be. Robin spoke to us like we have been friends for ages and she immediately picked up on the quirks of our dogs while not holding it against them. When we arrived home, we were greeted with the most adorable, hilarious, and detailed report of how our boys did while we were away. We have already asked Robin to come back for our next planned trip and would highly recommend her to watch your fur babies. Thank you, Robin, for going above and beyond! We can tell the boys already miss you.”

About: As a child who was never allowed to have pets, I spent most of my time volunteering and then working at humane societies and rescues! I have experience with all breeds, all ages, all activity levels, and behaviors. I own two dogs myself, one of which is reactive so I am very familiar and comfortable with dogs who may have triggers. My other dog requires medication, so I am comfortable administering those if need be! Friends and neighbors have relied on me countless times for dog walking, sitting, quick drop in's, or short overnight stays. I currently work from home, so I am able to drop in at almost any time during the day! I am an early bird, so I'm happy to drop in in the early hours of the morning. I do not offer pet care in my own home. Based on my experience, dogs are much more comfortable in their own space. I am happy to visit your pup any time!

“Sarah did an amazing job with my two kitties. She was super communicative and clear on when she'd be arriving at the house and what her schedule was like. She sent tons of pictures of the cats and was super responsive when I'd text. It really helped us be less nervous on a week long vacation that we had someone responsible and nice at the house to look after the cats. I could tell by the pictures she sent that they were relaxed and happy. We will be using her again for sure! The peace of mind helped us enjoy our trip without worrying about our babies.”
“Thank you for caring for Baby. It gave me such a peace of mind while I was away. Thank you so much for the toy for baby, that was such a kind gesture! Would hire again”

About: I’m fortunate to have experience with a wide variety of animals thanks to my cousins, who have two cats, three dogs, a turtle, and a horse. I help care for their pets regularly, so I’m comfortable meeting the unique needs of animals of all kinds and treating each one like family. Pet care fits naturally into my routine because I’m currently finishing up breast cancer treatment and have intentionally chosen pet sitting as my primary work. This gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to dedicate plenty of time and attention to the pets in my care. I truly enjoy spending time with animals, and being able to provide reliable, loving care while I’m in this season of life has been incredibly rewarding. Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or in a client’s home, I prioritize keeping their routine as consistent as possible. At my home, pets have access to a securely fenced backyard for supervised play, exercise, and potty breaks, along with plenty of attention, affection, and a comfortable place to relax. In a client’s home, I follow their pet’s established schedule for feeding, walks, playtime, medications (if needed), and any other care instructions. My goal is always to help pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away.
“Jason did a great job watching our German shepherd and our Lab He came out to meet them before and stayed 2 days and nights. Jason is reliable and a great sitter we will definitely use him again”

“Lisa was super great with our pups, Penny and Sedona. They both warmed up to her immediately and Lisa made sure they were comfortable and loved while we were away. We got frequent updates and pictures which really eased our minds. Lisa also gave us peace of mind, being at the house and keeping us updated on things. She also took care of our chickens and went out of her way to get some extra treats when we ran out. We couldn't have asked for a better dog sitter/housesitter to take care of our babies and our home. We will definitely be booking with Lisa again!”

About: I was always had furry siblings but have graduated to a cat mama. I enjoy creating personal heavens for our companions. Reliable, punctual and kind. I have a full-time job that pays the bills but I am looking for ways to feed my soul. Overnights are great as well as drop ins. I would prefer to host at client's homes as my current home does not allow dogs. Willing to board or take cats overnight. Let's make it a sleepover!
About: Current work schedule: Mondays for 10 hours. Available other days of week. I currently don’t have a dog but I’ve always loved and had dogs my whole life so I'm excited to care for your pet and enjoy their company. I was devoted to my previous senior dog who was deaf and blind. I’m patient, nurturing, and love being outdoors for walks! I usually work 8-3 allowing plently of time after work for walks and playing, making me a great fit as a dog sitter. Im occasionally off work on some week days too. I hope to provide companionship for your pet while ensuring you feel relaxed knowing they are loved, safe, and having fun I like getting out for walks for some fresh air so having your pet with me would make it more enjoyable. I love the happiness dogs bring me! I live in a very safe and quiet neighborhood, right around the block from my favorite walking trail and inside, my condo gets a lot of sunlight which is always nice!
About: I have been in this field for about 4 years so I can give medications if needed. I love my job, it’s very rewarding and I love all kinds of pets. Big, little, medium. I have always been a big lover of big dogs! I specialize in anxious dogs as I do have one of my own. I work full time 3 days a week 12 hour shifts Which gives me 4 days out of the week to enjoy my life and spend time with my pets as well. Our dogs in my home have free rage of the house. Water is out 24/7. They are constantly getting pets and play time with one of my family members.

“We couldn’t have asked for a better pet sitter than Brit! She took amazing care of our senior lab and our two cats while we were away, and it gave us so much peace of mind knowing they were in such good hands. She was attentive, reliable, and clearly has a genuine love for animals. Our older dog can need a little extra care, and Brit handled everything with patience and compassion. We came home to happy, well-cared-for pets and a house just as we left it. Highly recommend Brit to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter!”

“Amanda was a very reliable pet sitter. She watched our two dogs while we were out of town. She checked in very often and sent us multiple pictures of our pets everyday. She even watered our plants! Would definitely have her back!”

“Jackie was amazing! This was my first time using the service and after meeting her I felt completely comfortable leaving her with my dog. My dog is older and requires special attention and Jackie took extremely good care of her. She even sent pictures. I would highly recommend to anyone!”

About: As a veterinary student, I bring a calm, knowledgeable, and detail oriented approach to every pet I care for. My background gives me a strong foundation in animal behavior, so I’m comfortable reading body language, recognizing stress signals, and creating a low stress, positive environment for pets of all personalities. I also have hands‑on experience with senior pet care, including medication administration, mobility support, and adapting routines to keep older pets comfortable and happy. I’m patient, gentle, and attentive to the small details that help pets feel safe and understood. I’m currently on summer break, which means my schedule is wide open and very flexible. Pet care fits easily into my daily routine, and I’m able to plan my day around your pet’s needs rather than the other way around. I’m available for morning, afternoon, and evening visits, and I make sure each visit is calm, unhurried, and focused entirely on your pet. Because I’m not in classes right now, I can offer consistent routines, extra attention, and plenty of time for enrichment, walks, or quiet companionship. Your pet gets reliable care, and you get peace of mind knowing they’re with someone who’s fully present and attentive. My background has trained me to read animal behavior and stress signals, so I always approach pets gently and at their comfort level. I follow your care instructions closely; feeding routines, medications, enrichment, litter box care, and any house rules you have. I double check doors, gates, and latches every visit to keep your pet secure. I also keep your home tidy, respect your space, and make sure everything is exactly as you left it. During visits, I prioritize low stress handling, clean water, safe play, and a calm environment. I pay attention to changes in appetite, behavior, or energy so I can update you right away. You’ll always get clear communication and detailed updates, because trust and transparency matter.

“Tori was amazing with my high-energy dog! She spent a ton of time with my dog and took her to the dog park many times to burn her energy which my dog loved. She was also very thoughtful and sent lots of pictures and videos while we were away for 2 weeks and was very responsive the whole time. She was very accommodating and I would highly recommend her! Will definitely be using her again in the future.”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Frankfort walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Frankfort maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Frankfort choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
