“August 2023 Consciousness, trustworthy and hardworking, describes both Marcus and Laura. Since arriving at our small farm May 20th this year for a 3-month stay, they have been great to have here. Some of the time we were away, and we never felt concerned about the welfare of the property, chickens, dog or cat. They took care of routine tasks such as feeding the animals, monitoring their health, mowing the lawn, trimming shrubs, monitoring pool chemistry, and weed whacking. They are industrious, for example completely transforming shrubbery overwhelmed with Virginia creeper and honeysuckle vines had taken over. Whatever task was assigned, they jumped in and completed it. Marcus helped restore an old tobacco barn by installing trusses, purlins and metal roof. He has repaired both wooden and wire fences, operated zero turn mowers and various other farm equipment. But what has been most comforting is the 100% trust we have in their character. Their quiet demeanor and sincere honesty coupled with their stellar work ethic has made our summer remarkable. While we went away for an extended trip, they took care of our property and pets. We felt confident that the property and pets would be maintained & in order upon our return. Additionally, we had the utmost confidence that would let us know of any concerns in our absence. Our dog happily stayed with them on several occasions when we were away, and she can be a bit fussy with a change in routine. She greets them with such joy when she sees them. The chickens don’t know we’re gone but we know they are well cared for in our absence. The outdoor cat doesn’t skip a beat, nor mind when we’re gone. She’s a cat after all. We have a pool and they’ve been reliable with maintenance, as well as pressure washing deck and tending to the pool space. They have taken on landscaping tasks such as mulching trees, clearing fence rows, creating a stone garden, reclaiming overgrown woods & garden maintenance.
