“Ramona was a perfect fit for our dog Bodhi. She sent me pics and updates every day and let me know how he was sleeping, eating, & playing. For a puppy/young dog that needs near constant attention when he’s awake, she did a great job of giving that to him. He’s always trying to “get into” something, but he’s the sweetest boy and wants to listen - and Ramona clearly knows her way around dogs. :) We’ll continue to use Ramona as long as she’ll have Bodhi the crazy Weimaraner in her home!”

“Newbie to Rover here and decided to book with Keeley to watch my golden retriever Marv. She was great and Marv came home happy! He enjoyed playing with her two golden retrievers and running in her large fenced in backyard. Will 100% book with Keeley again in the future!”

“Felt very comfortable leaving my two little dogs with her. She made sure we had a meet and greet and made sure my two dogs were well taken care of. I would be more than happy and lucky to have her watch my dogs again”

“I’m so glad my pup stayed with Wendy! Wendy texted lots of photos of Daisy and I always felt assured she was safe and happy. There was a big yard for the dogs to play in and I was able to enjoy my vacation knowing Daisy was in such responsible hands.”

“Aimee did an incredible job taking care of my dog! From the meet-and-greet we knew it would be a great match, but she sent lots of photos and gave my dog so much love I didn’t worry for a second while I was on vacation for a week. I’m looking forward to my next trip so my dog can go back and see Aimee and her family again!”

“I have two high energy beagles and Kelly took them on. She was even smiling when I picked them up. She kept me updated and included pictures. I will definitely have Kelly watch the dogs again and I am so grateful she was so good to them.”

“It was the first time I left Kayla with anyone. On our meet and greet I felt very comfortable with Patti and knew she would take good care of my girl. Patti took excellent care of her. I booked with her because she only takes one pet at a time and she had a fenced in backyard. Patti sent me photos of Kayla fetching her ball which is her most favorite thing. I will definitely use her again.”

“My Opal had a relaxing stay with Wyatt. She got to socialize with other dogs & there were no worries about her safety & care. Progress photos thru the week were comforting to receive. Wyatt gets my highest recommendation.”

“Louie loves to stay with Pam and Marshall. We appreciate the updates and how well he’s cared for by them! Highly recommend and Louie will definitely be back!”

“Kate was an amazing sitter! She made the entire process seamless, providing regular updates and adorable pictures of our dog. I highly recommend her and would absolutely book with her again!”

“Tolley and Tom took great care of Repeat. The family treated Repeat as if he was one of their own dogs. They sent lots of pictures and updates to help ease our mind. We would definitely use them again.”

“We boarded our pup with Marie who takes the absolute BEST care of the dogs she watches. We call her our dog’s “second mom”. She sent so many awesome pics and updates through the weekend we were away. Our boy usually has separation anxiety, but he trusts Marie and did very well boarding over the weekend with her. He could not have been in better hands!”

“Doug did a great job watching our dog Hammy. He checked in multiple times per day and sent pictures. He went above and beyond, walking Hammy multiple times per day, taking him to the dog park, and introducing him to neighbor and family dogs. He made sure we were okay with all of that prior. I have already booked Doug for an upcoming out of town wedding and he will be my go to pet sitter any time I need one.”

“The only issue with boarding my girls with Lynn, is that my dogs seem to suffer from postpartum depression for a couple days following their stay. You cannot find a better, more caring, surrogate dog parent for your 4 legged kids. Lots of playtime with Summer (Lynn’s girl), homemade treats, toys galore, cuddles and snuggles at will,… I could on and on… (BTW, unlike Amazon’s reviews, you can take this one to the bank!). A&J send their love to you, Lynn, and keep asking me when sre leaving town again?🙄)”

“George was so good with our dog Ziggy. Our dog is a very anxious dog, so we worried how it would go- we had no worries with George taking care of him! Ziggy liked him right away and had a blast playing with him in the fenced in backyard. George made sure to spend a lot of time with Ziggy and sent us pictures and updates. 100% would recommend George!”

“Omar had another wonderful stay with Swetha and her family! They take such great care of him and truly treat him like their own. We are so happy to have Omar stay with them.”

Naomi took great care of our dog, Max, while we were out of town for a long weekend. She shared pictures and provided daily updates on how Max was adjusting. I felt very comfortable leaving Max with Naomi. He was well care for, and I will definitely try to rebook with her when we go out of town in the future!

Ryan and Rio were the perfect hosts for Ziggy. Ryan is very knowledgeable about dogs and expertly handled my large puppy and his antics. Communication is excellent and Ryan is very accommodating. Ziggy was well cared for and tired when we picked him up. I will use Ryan again.

Emily was very kind and understanding that my dog has never been to a dog sitter or anything like that. Stormi is very anxious and protective, SO she is very picky with whom she bonds with!! Emily took All that in consideration And Stormi loved her & Emily’s husband 💙 I will definitely be referring Emily to anyone that needs a sitter! She even sends progress reports, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Mark and Elizabeth were great with Maeve. Maeve had a great time. Mark and Elizabeth updated us throughout our trip with multiple photographs, they are professional, friendly and very responsive. Great with puppies with high energy. Will be utilizing there services again for sure. Highly recommend Mark and Elizabeth

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OH ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
