About: I have had pets my entire life - dogs, cats, guinea pigs, fish, hamsters, and more. I adore animals, and do everything I can to help each and every one of them. I am a student - outside of class, my schedule is pretty flexible. I am able to dedicate parts of my day to taking care of your animals! I treat animals in any location with respect and love. I do everything I can for my own pets, and will do the same for yours.

About: I’ve been watching both cats and dogs for friends and neighbors for a few years now, and now that I have more flexibility in my schedule I would love to provide my services to others! I work fully remotely and have a ton of flexibility to take care of your pets! If i’m not on vacation, i’m usually free to help :) I live in an apartment with my two-year-old chihuahua mix, Archie! Plenty of opportunities to run around the fenced dog area or ride over to a trail or park for more activity. If i’m dropping in, i’m happy to do whatever activities your pet loves and keep their routine going!

About: I’ve been caring for animals for as long as I can remember! My experience includes dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, frogs, and plenty of other furry, feathery, and scaly friends. I’m comfortable with animals of all different personalities and love getting to know what makes each pet feel safe, happy, and at home. I’m also an Eagle Scout, where I earned merit badges in Dog Care and other areas that taught me responsibility, preparedness, and how to care for others. I bring that same patience and attention to every pet I look after. Most importantly, I genuinely love animals. I have the patience of an older sibling (lol), the responsibility of a Scout, and the enthusiasm of someone who will absolutely be excited to meet your pet. Whether your animal wants a long walk, a playmate, some quiet company, or just someone to make sure they’re safe and cared for, I’m happy to be that person! I’m currently a full-time student at William & Mary, so my availability is primarily in the mornings, evenings, and late nights, as well as throughout the weekends. I’ll work with you to find a schedule that fits both your pet’s routine and my class schedule, and I’m happy to plan ahead to make sure your pet gets the care and attention they need! Every pet has their own personality, routine, and needs, so I like to follow your lead! Before a stay or visit, I’ll make sure I understand your pet’s feeding schedule, walks, medications, favorite activities, and any house rules. In your home, I’ll keep your pet’s routine as normal as possible while giving them plenty of attention, playtime, and companionship. I’ll also treat your home with the same care and respect I would want for my own. My goal is for your pet to feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away, and for you to have peace of mind knowing they’re in good hands.

About: I’ve had pets for most of my life. I’ve had two cats and three dogs. My three dogs all weigh over 120 pounds and I am able and used to taking care of big dogs. Well experienced in taking care of multiple animals in a home. I’m well also used to talking care of cats needs, including their needs for space, litter, and playtime. I also enjoy spending time with any animal. I am flexible and free to help whenever needed. When I return to college I’ll balance helping out with your fluffy friends and my academics I will customise my service based on client needs. At home I feed my cat in the morning and early evening, cleaning litter daily and frequent water changes. For my dogs who are maremmas they require specific dietary needs so I cook for them as well as feed them regular kibble. One of my dogs had also specific medical needs.

About: I believe dogs are the purest of friends we can find on this earth and will cherish your pup as if it were my own. I am warm, prompt, communicative, and will happily send photos and videos of your dog to reassure you that all is well! I know how stressful leaving your dog at home can be, and will be accessible and receptive to any level of communication that you need. I am here to not only care your pup, but also help keep your own anxiety at bay! I am from a family of die-hard yellow lab lovers and am current sister to 7 year old yellow lab named Theo. Our favorite activities together are hide and seek with treats or toys, and evening massages to help him calm down before bedtime. Your dog will be equally loved by me! I am a graduate student in my final semester and am working part time entirely from the home. I have ample time to tend to your pet with snuggles and long walks outside! Theo dog featured in my profile picture is a family dog, who does not live with me currently. So my attention is 100% for your pup! I live in a very dog-friendly apartment complex in the Barton Springs/Bluffs area, right by the Greenbelt trailhead. My apartment is ground level and opens up onto an unfenced yard area perfect for potty breaks. My studio apartment is approx. 450 square feet, so pretty small but your dog is welcome to have free reign on the couch and bed (if they are allowed to do so in their own home, of course!). When I take care of dogs in another person's home, I try to arrange my schedule such that I am never gone for more than 3-4 hours in the entire day. I understand the anxiety pets deal with when their beloved hoomans are away, so I am very committed to adjusting my schedule to prioritize being with the dog as much as possible.

About: Hi, my name is Mackenzie, and I love being outside and seeing happy dogs on walks! I grew up with a dog that I loved dearly, and enjoyed nothing more than spending time inside and outside with him! Since his passing, I have gotten a little over a year of experience petsitting and dog-walking, and am looking to expand and help more families keep their fur babies happy! Whether that be by dropping by for a walk and some tummy rubs, or hanging out while you’re on vacation, I am ready and excited to help out! I’m a high energy person who loves playing with and caring for dogs; please contact me if you think I could be a good pet for your best friend! I have also become a big cat person in my personal life! I have cats of my own and I love them very much. They both have some minor medical conditions that require prescription feeding and monitoring, so I am used to sensitive kitties who need a little extra love. I would love to help care for cats in the area, so other cat people can travel and vacation and have time away from home knowing that their furbaby is well cared for and loved in their absence! I work from home and have a lot of flexibility with my schedule, so I am available throughout the day for feeding, walking, playing, and relaxing with your pets! I am very detail oriented and can ensure that the care your pet receives from me mimics the care they receive from you, to keep your furbaby comfortable and relaxed while you're away!

  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
