About: One thing that sets me apart is my ability to understand and respond to dogs’ body language. I pay close attention to their behavior and little signals so I can recognize when they’re comfortable, nervous, overwhelmed, or need some space. I have a special soft spot for nervous and anxious dogs and understand that every dog has their own personality and comfort level. I’ve spent the past 6 years caring for my own dog, who can be nervous and easily startled, which has taught me a lot about patience, building trust, and making dogs feel safe and comfortable. I never want a dog to feel pressured or ignored—I let them come to me at their own pace while giving them plenty of love, attention, and reassurance. I have a flexible schedule and enjoy spending lots of time with the pets in my care. I’m available for overnight house sitting and can provide plenty of companionship, attention, potty breaks, walks, and playtime throughout the day. I’m happy to follow each pet’s normal routine and adjust my schedule to their individual needs. I especially enjoy house sitting because it allows me to stay with pets and give them consistent care and company while their owners are away. I treat every pet and home with the same care and respect I would want for my own. When house sitting, I keep pets comfortable in their familiar environment and follow their normal routines as closely as possible. About: My family has had dogs forever, ranging from small medium and large so growing up with all kinds of dogs has given me experience in how to handle any situation with any dog! I’m currently a college student and away from my dog at home and am looking for any way to have more interactions with pets. Also, my most recent dog is now 2 years old and I did the majority of training, so if there are any needs or wants for training while I am sitting, I am more than capable. I’m currently a full time student and on the William & Mary Varsity Men’s soccer team, however, I have many breaks throughout my day. The only block of the day I’m usually completely unavailable is from 2-6PM When caring for pets in clients homes you can expect the utmost respect for the home but also a willingness to learn how you usually handle your dog at home. Whether that is using the crate and having some more strict guidelines, or if it is a more relaxed environment.

I stay home so your dog will be getting lots of attention and will be well taken of. Just let us know their exact needs and schedule so we can accommodate! I stay home so I have plenty of time to take your pup on walks and give them plenty of attention and cuddles! I offer letting dogs out every 2 hours if needed! We have a dog park right by our building that I take all the dogs to so they can get their energy out and plenty of sidewalks for daily walks! Dogs can roam free in my home! Their comfort is important to me as well.

This was also the first time my Yorkie had been without me in all his life and he was very upset at first. Matthew worked to calm him down and ultimately Laddie was happy to be with his new "brother". He sent lots of pics and videos. He was great; I highly recommend this young man.”

I maintain their enclosures and monitor their temperature, humidity, feeding, water, and overall environment based on their individual needs. Their enclosures are kept secure and separate from my other pets. With any animal in my care, I pay attention to behavior and body language, provide appropriate enrichment and interaction, and make adjustments when I notice their needs have changed.
