About: I started volunteering at the Humane Society at the age of 11, where I fell in love with caring for animals. I lived on a base where people traveled frequently and I was trusted to keep their pets safe and looked after. I now work at a dog daycare/ boarding facility as a kennel attendant, so I have the proper training to take care of your pets. I enjoy my job and have lots of love to give to animals! My schedule is very flexible. I have a two hour lunch break when I do work, and I only work part time. I am a college student and even with next semester coming up, I still will be very available. Unfortunately, I am unavaible at the moment for boarding at my house because of the pets in my household. Hopefully in the near future I will be able to!
“My little girl usually takes at least a brief time before she warms up to a stranger like she did to Honey. It was just about instantaneous. She was ready to go for her walk as soon as she was at the door. I think she was somewhat disappointed when it had to end. I will definitely use again.”

About: My beloved Summer (now deceased) was an absolute monster when she was a puppy, so I can handle it all. When she was a senior, I had no problem picking her up (60 lbs) for car rides and for bedtime (she slept with me), and took care of her when her stitches popped. It takes a lot to faze me. In high school and college, I was first aid certified and still keep a first aid kit on me at all times, so should something happen, I can get your sweet dog wrapped up if need be. My favorite activity for getting dogs' energy out is taking them to a fenced in soccer field and kicking a ball for them to run after. I currently have a 6 (ish) year old rescue named Charlotte, whom I’ve had to train as an adult dog. She’s the complete opposite of Summer: very vocal and has no interest in balls but adores sticks. Every morning, afternoon, and evening. Walks, meal times, and play time for your dog (or dogs) and my dog as well. Caring for a dog is priority #1. Each morning, I walk Charlotte before hitting the gym and again in the evening. I’m currently in-between jobs, so I have full availability for the next few weeks. After that, I will likely be working remotely and will be flexible. It varies by the needs of the pet and his/her family. Walks, playing in the yard, etc. are common. If your pet has a certain routine, I’m pleased to accommodate.
“Gave lots of feedback and answered all of my questions while gone. Oliver warmed up to her over the weekend and everything was in place when I came home. Great job will definitely book again.”

“Victoria is amazing! She is extremely communicative and reliable in her services. I have a nervous pet and she went above and beyond to ensure that my dog and I were at ease. She was also able to help me in short notice. She is fantastic and I plan to use her again in the future :)”

About: Hi, we’re Teona and Louie! We’re passionate about caring for dogs of all ages, sizes, and personalities. With two gentle, well-socialized pups of our own, we know how important it is for dogs to feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away. We have hands-on experience with: • Puppy training & socialization – helping young dogs learn basic commands, crate training, and good manners. • Senior dog care – providing extra patience, gentle handling, medication administration, and accommodations for mobility or health needs. • Multi-dog households – managing playtime, feeding schedules, and safe introductions so everyone gets along. • Special care needs – whether it’s dietary restrictions, anxiety management, or post-surgery recovery. Our goal is to give owners peace of mind knowing their furry friends are in experienced, caring hands. I’m home most of the time, except for quick grocery trips. I’ll be available to give your dog plenty of attention and care throughout the day. We keep your pups active during the day so they’re ready to settle in at night. Dogs usually sleep in their room with their own bed or blanket (if provided), which keeps them safe and cozy. We have a separate room to ensure they’re comfortable and relaxed. Feel free to message us with any questions—we’d love to make sure both you and your pup feel at ease!
About: Hi, I’m Sandra! Animals have always been a huge part of my life, and caring for pets is something I love. I know every pet has their own personality, routine, and comfort level so I take the time to make sure they feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. Whether your dog is full of energy and ready for long walks and playtime, or your senior pet prefers a slower pace with extra patience and gentle care, I adapt to their individual needs. You can count on me to provide dependable care, regular updates, and plenty of love while you’re away. I’m a stay at home mom and have all the time in the world to spend with the pets in my care. I also enjoy gardening, baking, pottery, walks and spending time with my family. We have a doggie gate and big fenced backyard for your dog to run and play outside. Pets are welcome on the couch so we can all watch movies together. We don’t crate unless specifically requested by clients and we typically go on 2/3 walks a day.
“Ashton was so great and super friendly. I was a little worried at first because our dog is still a puppy and jumps and gets excited on walks when she sees squirrels and birds. She sent updates and pictures. She was also okay with coming over the day before to do a meet and greet! Would recommend!”

About: What sets me apart is my calm, attentive approach and experience caring for senior pets and animals who need extra patience, routine, or medication support. I’m reliable, detail-oriented, and respectful of both pets and homes. I follow instructions closely, communicate clearly, and make sure every pet feels safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I work both full time and part time, but pet care fits naturally into my routine. I’m very responsible with scheduling and flexible when it comes to letting dogs out for potty breaks, walks, feeding, and check-ins. I plan my days around pets’ needs and make sure they get consistent care, attention, and companionship while their owners are away. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I stick closely to their usual routines so they feel safe and comfortable. I follow feeding, potty, walk, and medication instructions carefully, provide plenty of attention and companionship, and adjust care based on each pet’s needs and energy level. I’m also respectful of the home and send regular updates for peace of mind
About: I’ve had a medium sized dog for the past eight years. He has always been seen as “my dog,” even though he’s the household dog. I love to take him for walks everyday, car rides often, and play with/treat him! I’m a college junior home for the summer in Williamsburg, VA. I have a part time internship which only requires around 20 hours a week of me being out of the house, so my schedule is very flexible to take care of your babies! In my home specifically, I always ensure my dog is fed, comfortable, and taken care of. I treat my dog as though he has human feelings and speaks english, if you know what I mean. I walk him twice a day and take him for enriching activities often such as car rides. His health is my main priority.
“Nice gentle with my girl. Willing to try whatever thought would motivate, but usually based on what I suggested. Appears to be cautious and not wanting to hurt dog. Definately likes animals. Much interactive with my dog after we all called it a day. Client was being very recalcitrant. Perhaps do some bonding before attempting walk next te”

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
