“Gabriel was fantastic! After several attempts at a house sitter and watching our two dogs, one of them large, Gabriel took the stress off of us during our vacation. Great communication, lots of pictures, and the house was well cared for. Highly recommend Gabriel!!!”

About: My background as a Holistic Practitioner allows me to bring a calm, nurturing presence that helps even the most anxious pets feel safe and loved. I have 10 years experience in pet sitting and specialize in senior cats and dogs. I am comfortable with administering medications and managing specialized care. I also offer frequency therapy, which is a wonderful gentle way to soothe separation anxiety and support them through any health issues. I will treat your place as if it were my own and ensure that you return to a clean and well cared for home. I’m a digital nomad I work remotely from my laptop which gives me the freedom to work from anywhere. Your pets will have constant companionship and minimal disruption to their routine. I have most recently been traveling as a house and pet sitter on Trusted Housesitters and have many wonderful reviews. I have fallen in love with the animals and the freedom it has given me. I have decided I would like to do this professionally and have just signed up with Rover. Looking forward to meeting you.
“We hired Angela for a second consecutive night, and it was clear our dog completely adored her. He became so attached! Angela is consistently fantastic, reliable, and deeply caring. We are so grateful to have found her and cannot recommend her enough!”

“Katie is an exceptional pet sitter. We would 100 % recommend her. She asked good questions and listened well, taking the absolute best care of our dog Maeve. Kind hearted and knowledgeable, I wouldn’t hesitate to entrust any animal to her care. Well done Katie!”

“Tyler and Sam were great! They took great care of our dog, were respectful of our home, and were very communicative. When we got home our dog was a happy boy and our house was spotless. Would be happy to book them again!”

“Gina was wonderful with our new puppy for a weekend home stay. She was courteous, professional, and provided multiple updates. Very thoughtful and treated our house with respect. We can’t wait to book Gina again!”

“Victoria was our house-sitter for 5 days for our two herder mix 4 year old litter mates Shemp and his sister LIttle Bear. Victoria was absolutely fabulous. She bonded immediately with the pups and was very affectionate and responsive to them. She was easy to work with as we briefed her on our layout and routine for the dogs and our house. She was thoughtful in her daily activities and updates, and had the dogs best interests at heart in making sure they had fun and exercise and training. We would ask Victoria back again in a heartbeat.”

About: As a fur mom myself, I treat other pets as if they were my own. I have two dogs and a cat. Two of them are seniors and I've had them since they were young. I believe in training basic commands, positive enforcement, and lots of snuggles. When I'm not pet sitting, I'm hanging out with my pups outside while they get their zoomies out. I'm comfortable with excited pups, counter surfers, and shy pups. We all have our quirks! I take care of our 3 pets (2 dogs, 1 cats) and their care is my top priority on my day to day. Feeding, training, and getting the zoomies out. I like to keep the dogs routine as much as possible. Some dogs can get anxious when someone new is introduced and I find it's best to keep things as simple and normal as possible.
“Thank you Ronald! Ronald housesat for a long weekend for our 2 big pups & I received several photo updates and check ins. We had a tiny situation resulting in a trip to the emergency vet and Ronald was calm, communicative, helpful, and went out of his way to make sure our dog was take care of. I highly recommend his services and am so thankful that he was so attentive!!”

About: I grew up in a house full of animals and pets and have grown to understand and love them fully and I hope to spread that love towards other animals! I can come take care of pets almost every day! I am a working Christian girl so Sundays I have church for an hour, and I just recently started a new job so far my hours are 10am-7pm Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays! I’m available afternoons on Thursdays and I’m available weekends! I believe that pets require an immense amount of attention and affection and I will always create a trusting bond with the pet owners and answer any questions the owners may have!
“Dorothy was great with our rambunctious puppy! She followed safety precautions due to COVID. We got the cutest pictures throughout the day of Cora. Dorothy was respectful and took great care of Cora and our house. I would definitely recommend Dorothy!”

About: I’ve had dogs my whole life, but I’ve had experience taking care of dogs on a dairy farm which got a little rowdy at times. I’m currently starting a job that will hopefully be full-time But might be a little shaky for a couple months so I’ll have a lot of free time to walk your dogs! I have a fenced yard and two dogs that are friendly for your puppy dog to play with. And if they just need a walk I will make sure that that puppy will have the best sleep after.
“This was Kat's first time sitting for our kitten Peanut, and she exceeded our expectations across the board. Communication was excellent — she shared regular updates and sent us genuinely fun photos that we loved getting throughout the trip. When we hit an unexpected schedule change, Kat was completely accommodating and made it a non-issue. The house was just as clean as we left it. She followed everything we asked, from the litter box routine to stripping the bed before we got back. Most importantly, Peanut was visibly happy and well-adjusted when we returned — you can always tell when a sitter has actually engaged with your pet, and she clearly had. Peanut was so comfortable with Kat that we were able to fully relax and enjoy our vacation. We will absolutely have her sit for Peanut again. Highly recommend.”

“Susan did a wonderful job taking care of our dogs and cats for the weekend. They were well cared for and well loved, as her adorable pictures showed. She was extremely trustworthy, a great communicator and went above and beyond caring for the animals and our house. We are so lucky to have found her and can’t wait to have her come again!”

“Thank you Darla for doing such an awesome job with Evie, Boo and PJ! Even though Evie is still in mourning over the passing of Rudolph Valentino Jones, you took great care of her and she ate food for you, bonus round since she hasn't eaten a lot in the last week or so. Thank you for taking excellent care of them and my beautiful home.”

“Jan was great with our two dogs, both nervous nellies. She was extra patient and spent lots of time with them to get them comfortable. We got to relax and know our pups were well cared for.”

About: I’ve spent several years caring for pets as part of my work as a nanny and personal assistant, so I’m very used to routines, communication, and handling animals with patience. I’ve cared for high-energy breeds like German Shepherds and Dobermans, as well as small dogs, seniors, and puppies. What sets me apart is that I’m calm, dependable, and observant, I notice changes in behavior, appetite, or energy right away. I’m comfortable with crate routines, structured walks, feeding schedules, basic commands, and keeping dogs mentally stimulated. I’ve also handled senior-dog needs like slow walks, medication reminders, and gentle mobility support. When I house-sit, I treat your home with the same respect I treat my own. I keep things tidy, follow your instructions carefully, and send regular updates and photos so you always feel connected and confident your pup is happy and safe. Whether your dog needs long walks, quiet company, playtime, or extra patience, I adapt to each pet’s personality to help them feel secure while you’re away. I’m currently in nursing school remotely, which means my schedule is very flexible and I’m home the majority of the day. When I’m house-sitting, your dog gets consistent company, supervision, and attention, I’m not someone who will be in and out all day. If I ever need to step out for a quick errand or class requirement, I always communicate ahead of time. I believe in being respectful of your home and completely transparent about my schedule, so you’ll always know what to expect. Because my program is online, I’m able to structure my study time around your pet’s needs: walks, playtime, feeding, medication, and potty breaks. This setup lets me provide calm, consistent care while keeping your dog’s routine as stable and stress-free as possible. When I care for pets in your home, I keep everything calm, safe, and consistent. I follow your dog’s routine exactly: feeding schedule, walk times, crate rules, and any house guidelines you prefer. I’m especially careful with doors, gates, and outdoor time, and I handle strong or high-energy dogs confidently. I keep your home tidy, pick up after pets right away, and treat your space with respect. Throughout the stay, I send regular updates and photos so you always feel connected and comfortable while you’re away. My goal is to make your dog feel secure in their familiar environment and give you complete peace of mind.

“Stephanie was amazing with our mini poodle Waffles! She took the time to come meet him and learn about him before staying over at our house with him. She followed his care and feeding instructions perfectly, and we came back to a happy dog! We would definitely use Stephanie again.”

Stephanie was amazing with our mini poodle Waffles! She took the time to come meet him and learn about him before staying over at our house with him. She followed his care and feeding instructions perfectly, and we came back to a happy dog! We would definitely use Stephanie again.

Cathleen was excellent working with our dog Marley. Marley wasn’t quite prepared to have someone take care of her while we were away and Cathleen was incredible at being patient and caring for her needs. She went above and beyond by texting, communicating and sending us photos. We will definitely use Cathleen again as we feel Marley has made her part of our family.

Angela is kind, caring and trustworthy. We trusted her to take care of our 15 yo senior dog, Teo, at our home for 5 days. She bonded with Teo on her first visit and the transition was seamless. She handled his needs, his medication and it seems, looking at the pictures Angela sent to us while we were away, that they had a good time together!
I first met Kelly for a preliminary 'meet & greet' and I immediately sensed her comfort with our young, certified therapy Aussie dog 'Sydney'. On the day of the sitting, Kelly arrived promptly and Sydney (again) greeted her warmly. During the visit Kelly texted us some cute photos of Sydney and Kelly at-play. I highly recommend Kelly and as the need arises we will definitely request her services without hesitation.

We feel so fortunate to have found Gillian (Gigi)! She had a difficult task with her stay at our house, and his name is Kitty (the elderly pug). He not only requires extra work in the daytime, but can be a huge challenge at night by not sleeping (howling) in the night. We cannot express our gratitude for her care and patience with this guy. He is over 17 years old, and suffering from cognitive decline and nerve issues (back end failures). We typically travel with him knowing the level of work he can be, but this trip was due to a death in the family and we had to fly (and he cannot fly with us). She stuck with him, kept trying things to help him be comfortable, and we greatly appreciate her. Not easy if sleep deprived! We have two others - dog and cat - who were hopefully easier and more entertaining for Gigi! (oh and a duck) We felt nothing but total confidence in having them in her care, and in our home. She was not just a wonderful caretaker for our fur babies, but a lovely houseguest, too. That made an extra huge difference since our trip was due to a death in the family - we could go and be focused on that. We were updated throughout the day and with photos and videos and loved having that communication. If she is ever willing to take us on again, we will definitely be seeking her services. Give her a try - you will love her and your fur baby will too!
Megan was so great with our puppy and diabetic cat. Last minute our puppy went into heat and Megan was a champ about it. She was very communicative and sweet about sending updates. Our pets were happy to see us, but very clearly well taken care of. She left our house better than we left it. Stella and Winnie can’t wait to have her back!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred El Verano walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in El Verano maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in El Verano choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
