“Janet is very helpful!! We had a couple of last minute times when we needed someone to come by for a feeding & potty break and she jumped right in. Also made a point to meet Bosun in advance so that she was prepared for when these sort of things to pop up.”

“Korah is amazing! This was the first time my husband and I had left our Service Dogs with someone who is not family. Every time we checked in, it made our jitters disappear knowing they were loved and getting everything they needed.”
“Brogan did an excellent of letting me know how my dog was doing each of the days that we were gone. Bonus that I got picture updates too! She left the house in great shape and I will happily rebook her.”

“Taryn did a great job watching Ari who has separation anxiety and can’t be left alone. The event I was at ran past the expected time and she stayed with him past when I was supposed to get back which helped immensely. Ari enjoyed her company and kept calm while I was out.”

About: Hi there! My name is Michelle and Ive been a pet owner since I was a child. My family always had dogs, cats, pocket pets, and the occasional tarantula. Im the niece of a large animal veterinarian whose clinic I volunteered at after school and summers. Currently my husband and I are owned by a Labrador Retriever and an English Setter. We are active with a national English Setter rescue, which is where our beautiful boy came from, and run volunteer transports of dogs on their way to foster or forever homes. *** Due to personal reasons, for House Sitting bookings I sleep at my own home. I will arrange my arrival and departure times at your home, to whatever your preferences are. I usually arrive around 6am and leave between 9 and 10pm, but thats variable based on your pet's routine.*** Im semi-retired! My routine is whatever it needs to be from day to day. Im a firm believer in being flexible to meet the situation's needs. Each pet is different. Some are couch potatoes, some want to hike the Alps, but all need mental stimulation and tons of hugs. Playtime, walks, treats and any other interactions you, as the expert on your pet, request of me, are part of the services I offer.
About: Hello I'm Elliot! I have grown up around animals my whole life- we've had a Pomeranian Chihuahua named Kirby for about 11 years now and I take care of him frequently when I'm back home from college and over the summer. I also have two guinea pigs of my own, and have had a hedgehog in the past so I am very well versed in smaller pets! I frequently took care of pets for my neighbors and friends when I was younger, including cats, fish, and many many dogs! I was also involved in the Lincoln Children's Zoo-crew volunteer program for 4 years, where I spent time learning how to take care of all kinds of animals. I currently co parents a cat with my partner, and have always had a special place in my heart for cats! I also enjoy volunteering at the ECCHA in my free time with their cats. I am currently located in Eau Claire, WI for all your pet care needs! As of right now I have availability on most Thursdays, Fridays, and weekends unless otherwise indicated on my calendar. I’m available for drop in, walks, and even house sitting! I am unable to bring other pets into my home because I do have pets of my own and due to tenant restrictions, however, I am more than happy to visit your furry friends in your home or take them on walks outside the house! I prioritize any instructions you give me and want to make sure they feel at home no matter where they are.
“Great communication! She even took our dogs for a walk! Which was not asked or expected! Very nice and I would definitely recommend if you need a great dog sitter. Will definitely book again in the future when needed! :)”

“Celeste was absolutely amazing with our fur baby Teddy. He required medication twice a day, and she was able to provide him with that. She sent me pictures and let me know what was going on and it meant the world to me. I would absolutely recommend her if you want to have a very responsible, sweet and caring young lady to take care of your fur babies!!”

About: I have taken care of my own pets and friends pets for many years. I enjoy dog walking, playing with toys, and cuddling up with pets! I am a student who is looking for extra work over the summer! My hours vary by day, so I’m looking for morning and evening dog walking/sitting! I love my animals and always try to provide the best care for them. I love walking my dog and making sure he gets his playtime. I enjoy cuddling with my cats:)
“Emma was absolutely amazing! I can tell our four legged family members were well loved and taken care of! She sent updates daily with pictures and cute stories about thier day and adventures. I will not hesitate to use Emma again when we need a house and pet sitter!”

About: I love dogs and have two of my own - a little man named Sid and big golden named Ruby. Everyone in my family has a dog as well so I am very used to being around pets. I am an active person and would love to walk, run with, or care for your dog! I work 2 days a week and I am flexible on weekends, so just let me know what you're thinking! We have two kids at home, 3 and under, so must be okay with sweet kiddos. I live in home with a big fenced in yard which is perfect for dogs. I have a small dog and large dog who get along very well with other dogs. They get super playful around other dogs, so your dog would surely have a fun time and get all his/her energy out! I am working part-time and home with my babies the other days, allowing a lot of flexibility with caring for your pet. We have some occasional things planned for weekends but are otherwise pretty open! I have a fenced in, nice yard for dogs to play and run in. We live in a great walking neighborhood. We have two dogs to keep your fur baby company as well as two young children. Animals must be kid-friendly for our home!
“Olivia did a fantastic job looking after our pets and house while we were away for a week and a half. She treated our babies like they were her own and we couldn’t be happier. It’s so nice knowing they are in good hands while we were away. It certainly helped us enjoy our vacation so much more! She sent pictures and videos and it was clear that the dogs were having the best time and were really enjoying their time with her. All the updates were greatly appreciated! I was worried the dogs wouldn’t want us coming back 😉 I will absolutely be using Olivia for future pet sitting needs. Thanks Olivia!!”

“Our experience with Destiny as a sitter at our home was fantastic. She sent lots of photo updates. All the animals, including our shy cat, seemed to love her company! Her communication is excellent and she made sure to check in prior to the stay to make sure we were on the same page for arrival as well as the day/time she left. She cleaned up the house before she left which was not expected at all but very much appreciated. We look forward to having her come back and stay with our fur babies again.”

Taryn did a great job watching Ari who has separation anxiety and can’t be left alone. The event I was at ran past the expected time and she stayed with him past when I was supposed to get back which helped immensely. Ari enjoyed her company and kept calm while I was out.

Celeste was great!!! She came over before the date needed to get the dogs familiar with her and to get instructions so we didn't need to worry about that when we were leaving for our trip. She sent us pictures of our beloved Phoebe and Rudy putting us at ease that everything was going great so we could enjoy our trip without worry! When we got back to the house it was neat and clean and our dogs were happy! We highly recommend Rover and especially Celeste to take care of your pets/house when needed, you won't be disappointed! Very thankful, Scott & Geri

Janet simply put, was amazing. This was the first time that our boys had someone else stay with them. We were of course a little apprehensive but Janet made us and the boys secure right from the start. We had an initial meeting that went very well and the 10 night stay went even better. Janet was tasked with taking care of our dog Duffy who is an epileptic and who had seizures and a vet visit on the day that we were leaving. She made us feel very relieved that the orders from the vet would be carried out...they were. She also took excellent care of the house. She was terrific at keeping us updated during our trip with many pictures and news from home. We could not have been any happier with her stay. The only problem is that someone who does such a good job is in high demand and unfortunately (for us) she is already booked during a time period when we again need a sitter. I can assure you that you will not be disappointed having Janet take care of your pets.

Kacy did a phenomenal job caring for my two dogs while my son and I were out of town. She was extremely polite, respectful, and bonded with my dogs immediately. I highly recommend Kacy to anyone looking for a sitter that is dependable, will prioritize your dogs, and give them all the love they deserve. A job well done and I look forward to booking Kacy again. Thank you, Jason
Sanora was fantastic! She housesat for my dog and two cats for a long weekend. During the stay she was communicative and let me know how things were going. She also handled a very last minute change in feeding instructions with ease. When I got home, everyone was happy and healthy and the house was in perfect condition :) I would absolutely rebook with Sanora!

Cara is incredible. This was the first time I've ever left my puppy and I was nervous, but Cara made it so easy. She is a natural with dogs, caring and sweet. She not only provides walks and basic care, she went above and beyond. She did art with him, she did puzzles with him, she spent so much time making him feel safe and loved. I could not recommend her higher. She is the best choice.

Raegan was wonderful! She arrived on time, was attentive to our pup, and made sure Romeo felt comfortable while we were away. He was relaxed and happy when we returned, which says a lot. We would definitely book with her again and highly recommend her to others.

We would highly recommend Melissa for your dog sitting needs! She was communicative, took great care of our (needy) dogs, and left our house looking great. We really enjoyed the pictures and videos she sent while we were away. It made our travels much more relaxing seeing our pups well cared for. We will definitely look to book with her again in the future.

FAQs for House Sitting - Eau Claire
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Eau Claire on Rover is $40 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 133 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Eau Claire. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Eau Claire walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Eau Claire maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Eau Claire choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Eau Claire. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 90% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
