I am a Social Worker Case Manager, so my hours are flexible and my own. I work mostly from home. This gives me the ability to work from your house if your animal needs extra attention and care. I do have time in the day to take animals out for potty breaks. I usually don't work on the weekend, so I will have lots of time to spend with the animals I am caring for! **For House sitting due to health reasons I sleep at my own house usually 6-8 hours depending on animal needs**

When caring for pets, I tend to take a gentle approach. Especially if the animal does not know me well yet. Just like people, you have to treat pets with the respect you would like them to give you. Develop healthy boundaries and work to improve the animal and person relationship. Typically, this approach is a great way for animals to know I am not trying to dominate them but to share space and spend time with them as I provide enrichment in their day!

I need to know of any special instructions you have for your animal. You know your animal best so let me know if they have any medications, fears, or triggers. For dog walks, I love to explore, so let me know if your dog is okay in social situations or if we should find more secluded walks. I am flexible and will work around your animal's needs to make you feel comfortable while you are not there. *I am allergic to peanuts, so I do not administer peanutbutter treats*
A typical day
I like to provide daily enrichment for the animals I interact with. Typically for dogs, I love to go on walks and explore familiar and new places. I like to go to dog parks, I love to play with them with whatever their favorite toys are. For cats, every cat is different, so I like to find out what their favorite kind of play is and engage them in that kind of play. My cat Monty loves to play with sticks, while Leo loves to play fetch!

I've been training dogs since I was 12 years old. I love bully breeds and training animals to be gentle with all ages. I trained my cat to be a service animal, visiting nursing homes and preschools, and I love exploring outside with dogs. My best friend is a dog trainer and groomer, and we enjoy helping people train their dogs. My family always had large and small dogs, so I am comfortable with any size dog!

Emily is absolutely amazing. She has been walking, doing drop in visits (sometimes last min) and house sitting for a while now. She is so prompt and communicative.
