About: I’ve cared for dogs since age 12, worked alongside a professional trainer, and raised my own Pitbull and I am now raising a Havanese. Experienced with multiple breeds, puppies through seniors, I bring patience, structure, and genuine love. If you are new to Rover, use my code CHARLV18304, to get $20 OFF your first booking. Pet care fits naturally into my routine. I maintain a flexible schedule while job searching, allowing me to provide reliable walks, drop-ins, feeding, playtime, and attentive companionship throughout the week. I create a calm, secure environment by following each pet’s routine, monitoring behavior closely, and maintaining clean, pet-safe spaces. I communicate regularly with owners and prioritize safety, comfort, and consistency. I have fenced in yard and one friendly dog to keep your fur baby company. If needed I also have crates if your baby feels more comfortable in their own safe space.
“Second time having Sara over for visits with my cat while I was away. She was wonderful, communicated well, sent lots of updates with cute photos and videos. I highly recommend Sara for your cat visiting needs!”

“I quickly rebooked Chloe for the holiday—she is phenomenal! She really does go above and beyond to make sure my cat is spoiled and loved while I am away, e.g., she surprised him with treats and made an extra drop-in on Christmas Day just to say hi! Chloe is attentive, respectful, and bubbly. I am very grateful to have met her and cannot recommend her enough. Thank you, Chloe!”

“Cassidy is very responsible and trustworthy! She did a great job looking after our young cat and made sure to keep in touch with us if she had questions or concerns. She gave our cat plenty of attention and play time and went the extra mile to keep things clean and neat! We will definitely use her next time!”

About: I am a 25 y/o high school PE teacher. I enjoy running marathons. I have my own rescue dog who loves long walks and running. I am currently a teacher, I have summers off from late June to late August off. I travel from New Jersey to Virginia, I can offer services through the week and weekends. I have clear communication skills that include phone calls, texts and pictures. I have my own dog and understand the commitment to quality care when it comes to pets.
“Kaytlin was great! My dog and cat were both well taken care of in our absence. My dog needed some pills and Kaitlyn had no problem following the schedule. We will be a returning customer. Thank you so much for taking care of our girls!”

About: I have an older dog myself so I understand the importance of following directions especially for medication. But I have 2 dogs and 2 dwarf hamsters and have helped taken care of many other animals. I have off from work Sunday Monday Tuesday, so I’m available most of the time on those days especially Monday and Tuesday. However during the weeks I can do mornings and evenings if you just need someone to check on your pets or walk and feed them in the morning and night. I will follow whatever instructions are left for me. If you have a more playful animal I will be happy to play with them to exercise the both of us, take them to a park to let out some energy and keep a close eye on them. Treat them as one of my own while they are with me.
“Michael was so amazing with my senior orange Ray Cat. What a wonderful job giving him his medicine 2 times and day, brushing, playing and treats. I always get worried because my boy can be a handle full at times, but Michael was such a amazing person for Ray Cat. Highly recommend and I feel so safe having him as Ray's sitter. Again thank you so much!”

“Very communicative & experienced sitter. Felt very comfortable with Madeline caring for our pets while away! She even went out of her way to bring in our packages. Would highly recommend her & book again.”

About: I’ve been around dogs my entire life and have experience with a wide variety of breeds, sizes, and personalities. I grew up in a home with Rottweilers, which taught me early on the importance of proper care, structure, and lots of love. Over the years, I’ve lived with rescue dogs and have also fostered dogs in the past, gaining experience helping dogs adjust to new environments and routines. Currently, I live in a home with a rescue St. Bernard and a Bernese Mountain Dog. While they aren’t my own dogs, I spend a large amount of my time caring for them, giving them plenty of attention, affection, and exercise. I’m very comfortable with large breeds as well as dogs who may need extra patience and understanding. I’ve worked with many breeds and mixes, including Rottweilers, Bernese Mountain Dogs, French Bulldogs, St. Bernard, Labs, Doodle mixes, Pomeranians, Boxers, and a Rhodesian Ridgeback. I understand that every dog is unique, and I always aim to provide care that meets each dog’s individual needs while making sure they feel safe, loved, and happy. I work part time as a yoga teacher and have an open schedule on Mondays, Wednesdays, and weekend for daytime visits to take your pets out and on walks depending on what you need. I currently do not have any pets of my own which makes overnight stays to care for your pets easy. I will come to your home for to care for your pet and offer them the services you wish to have for them. Whether that be overnight stays, daytime dog walks, offering meals, or even just some outdoor playtime in your backyard.
“Millie loved her visits with Sarah! Sarah took excellent care of Millie with multiple visits each day, walks, and playtime. We knew Millie was in great hands with Sarah and we highly recommend her!”

“Elaine is so great with our nervous schnauzer. We know he's in the best hands with her and she is very communicative with us when she does her check ins. We will keep rebooking with her and highly recommend her.”

“Kaylyn is amazing! Great communication, is consistent and goes above and beyond. I never have to worry about my pets when she’s their sitter. Highly recommend!”

About: Growing up, my family and I lived on a small farm with tons of animals, including horses, cows, chickens, cats, and of course, little dogs. I was taught from a very young age that any living thing should be respected and treated properly. Puppies and kittens have been in my life for as long as I can remember, and my love for them has only grown over the years. Pet care is part of our everyday routine. I’m a stay at home mom, so I’m home most of the day. We have a fully fenced yard that’s just under half an acre, and my kids and I spend a lot of time outside playing with our pets. They get plenty of exercise, attention, and love every day. I follow each pet’s normal routine as closely as possible. I make sure they have fresh food and water, plenty of potty breaks, exercise, playtime, and lots of attention. I also keep their space clean and always make their safety and comfort a priority.

Absolutely wonderful! She was so responsive, the notes every visit were very informative and super helpful, and her personality, actions, and kindness were above and beyond. I couldn’t have asked for a better person to take care of our fur babies while we were out of town!

Chelsea took amazing care of my cat. She made sure to follow the special instructions I left and took lots of cute photos of my girl. I also really appreciated the updates she gave me every day. Chelsea made me feel good about leaving my cat at home while I went on a trip. Thanks Chelsea!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
