“Kevin is excellent and would highly recommend him. He is very comfortable and caring with animals and clearly enjoys being around them. His report cards are very thorough. Recently Kevin watched our cats and we had a last minute medical situation that involved giving one cat eyedrops. Kevin handled it smoothly and I felt good knowing that he was caring for our cats.”

“Rebecca did a great job checking in on my kitten over a long weekend. I felt relaxed knowing he was in good hands. She took the cutest photos and I loved getting them after every check in. Rebecca is very reliable, trustworthy, and good at communicating. Your animal will be in good hands here!”

About: I have taken care of many animals! From dogs to cats, even horses and goats. I have always had a pet and love to snuggle! I currently work full time. But have flexible days off so just reach out and let's see how we can work together to make your life easier owning a pet! I am happy to offer supervised yard time and walk your pets on leash if you would like! I will stick to your schedule, and what you prefer!

About: I’ve taken care of dogs and cats since I was 15. I’ve also had experience training puppies as well as walking dogs. I love to spend time with the dogs I am watching outside as well as snuggling up with them in the house. I also enjoy playing with cats and am responsible with keeping up with cleaning litters boxes, making sure all pets have plenty of water, and they are fed in time according to their schedule. Your pet will be loved and taken care of as if they were my own while you are away. :) I am a current college athlete working a part-time summer job in Bend, I will be in Bend until AUGUST 20th as I head back to school in Washington. I will have time to do drop-ins to check on your babies as well as give them potty breaks and/or take your dogs on walks (if your dog has experience running, I’d also love to do that!). I can also stay at your house if you need someone over night. My schedule will depend on the week, but I will keep my Rover calendar updated with my available times/days, and I am open to having a regular walking schedule with clients. I am not open to taking animals at my own place as I am currently in a on-campus apartment with not a lot of space (especially for dogs). But I will take very good care of your house whether that is me doing drop-ins or staying at your house. I can water plants or complete other tasks if you need while I am staying there. I can crate your animals while I am away if you need, and I will always make sure to stop by every 4-5 hours (depends on day, I will have basketball training, class, or work) to let them have a potty break and to ensure they have plenty of water as well as being fed on time. Your home and animals will be well taken care of!
“Caitlin is the best! We had her drop in daily to our two kitties for two weeks. Caitlin snuggled and picked them up and actually spent time with them. Its rare to find a cat sitter that likes cats and gives our kitties the affection they need while we are gone. They were really happy and I would 10/10 reccomend her for your kitties needs!”

“Rachel, took care of our large breed dog Trax. She was friendly, helpful and professional. It really made us feel at ease while we were away. We highly reccommend Rachel to anyone looking for pet care.”
“Megan is awesome! She is very attentive to details and excellent in her communication. She sent pics and thoughtful notes with each visit she made while I was traveling. Beyond that my pups loved all the attention and play time she gave them.”

“Aaron took amazing care of our two cats! They warmed to him right away and were relaxed and happy in his care. We appreciated that Aaron took time to play with them on each of his visits and he sent us great photos each day. In addition to being a caring person he is a responsive communicator and we felt very reassured that our cats were in great hands.”

“Kimi is always delightful as a cat sitter. She takes care of our kitties and has done a great job of handling issues when they arise. We have had Kimi cat sit for us about 10-12 times now and appreciate her very much. She gets great photos and is very communicative. I feel comfortable leaving for long trips because I know Kimi is there to make sure our cats are cared for.”

“Payten did a fabulous job taking care of my animals! I've got two cats and a very needy dog that were looked after twice a day. She was always timely and responsible and provided lovely pics with a concise but friendly message. I would definitely consider booking with Payten in the future.”

“Leeya cared for our cat, Siren, with drop-ins for 3 days. While he tends to hide from new people, Leeya sent pics of him getting pets and cozying up during her visit. Truly appreciate her!”

“Blake has been so incredibly helpful and sweet to our pup. He not only picked up our request on short notice, but even went the extra step to drive out and meet us before the drop ins. Can’t say enough positive things!”

“I knew my cat was in good hands with Joann. She was very understanding with me worrying about my cat being lonely while I was away and followed the care instructions I left including lots of play time! Joann also checked in to see if there was anything she could help with while I was away like watering plants. She is also just a pleasant person and I would happily book her again.”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Deschutes
It was the first time using Rover and I chose Amanda for the great reviews she had and extra checks. We are very happy how everything went and when she sent the pictures I knew it was the right call chosing her, the way she approached our cats and Alfie; which is the most jumpy and scared boy ever; he went and smell her hand and let her pet him! It made me smile because she clearly knows her way around cats. The communication was great and she sent a bunch of pictures which is always great. I will be booking more dates for her to take care of our babies.

Even though Amanda is working a difficult schedule these days, she was able to visit with George and take care of him as promised, including pictures taken during her visit. We're hoping Amanda will be able to get to know George better as she visits with him in the future and he becomes more comfortable with her. He is a tough nut to crack!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Deschutes. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
