“Cassie did a great job while watching my pup. She was super responsive, flexible with pick up and drop off and sent some pics throughout the day too. She thankfully was available last second as well. Would book again.”

“Nicole and her family were amazing. We were traveling to Bend for the long weekend and left our dog with Nicole for the one day we were visiting a National park. They took great care of our dog and sent us photos regularly of all the fun they had. I highly recommend trusting Nicole and her family with your pup if you are in Bend, they were awesome!”

“Meredith is a fantastic dog sitter. Not only was she quick to respond, she also gave me regular updates on my dog during his time with her that reassured me he was doing well. Our dog came home happy and worn out from playing all day.”

“Lisa and Max were amazing! We came into Bend to camp and catch a couple concerts at the Amphitheater. Lisa and Max made accommodations for our pup to come over and hang during the concerts and she had a great time! Very communicative, responsive, and overall, just excellent dog people! Would definitely recommend them for your Rover needs!”

About: We love animals! We have a big yard, but we’re usually home with our pets. Our kids (5 & 9) love to play with and help care for them, while still being adaptable to less friendly dogs who want space. I am generally home during the day, and extremely flexible to accommodate various schedules for drop-in visits or in-home care. The pets we watch at home often feel like a part of our family! We have a large fenced yard with plenty of room to run, and a quiet neighborhood for walks. Our senior dog isn’t high energy, and easy to get along with.

About: Working remotely gives me the flexibility to do what I love, spend time with animals. I share my home with two cats, Miso and Gnocchi, and my rescue dog Caesar, whom I have spent the last two years training extensively in partnership with a local trainer using fear free tools. I grew up with cats, and have fostered dogs through local rescues. That experience has made me comfortable with animals of all temperaments, backgrounds, and needs. When your pet is with me, they are in caring, experienced hands. Pet care fits seamlessly into my routine. I work remotely with designated meeting blocks, which means I have the flexibility to plan drop-ins and walks around my schedule with ease. My mornings tend to be busiest, so afternoons are largely free. I can make time throughout the day when needed. I love being outdoors, so walks are never a chore. Whether your pup needs a quick stroll or a longer adventure, I am happy to go at whatever pace and distance they enjoy. The safety and comfort of every pet in my home is my top priority. Because I have two cats, any dog coming into my home must be cat-tested beforehand. This ensures a stress-free environment for everyone. I take introductions seriously and never rush the process. My own dog Caesar is a rescue, and we have worked through a lot together over the past two years. That experience has made me confident and adaptable. I know how to read an animal's comfort level and adjust accordingly, whether that means giving them space, a slower introduction, or extra reassurance. Every pet is different, and I am happy to work at whatever pace feels right for yours. I am also able to crate pups and take them outside with ease when needed.
“Alana was awesome, we needed a last-minute sitter and she responded so quickly! Our nervous dog easily warmed up to her in and had a great afternoon. We would hire Alana again in a heartbeat.”
“Our dog Ruby loved Sonja! She came home tired and happy everyday and was excited for drop-off each morning. I really appreciate how flexible Sonja was with my work schedule and last minute changes to my work trip. I will absolutely request Sonja again for my puppy!”

“Jeff & Roxanne took the best care of our pup! They were kind, excellent communicators & flexible as our plans evolved over the weekend. Our pup came home happy and tired. This was our first time using Rover and we were a bit nervous to leave our pup for the first time but they are what makes Rover a wonderful resource. Don’t hesitate to book with Jeff & Roxanne- they’re the best!”

“Took such great care of my doggo! Veronica took him for a hike to help tire him out. Also let my doggo play with theirs. Extremely friendly and accommodating. Would stay with them again whenever I’m back in bend!”

“My pup had the BEST time with Claudia! It was hard to get her back in the car to leave! I left my pup with Claudia for a day and boy were they busy. Lots of play time and a long walk and cuddles, my pup was POOPED after and slept all evening, a sign of a great day! Claudia sent pics throughout the day, which were honestly so nice to receive. She was super easy to talk and schedule the day with. Will be dropping my pup off with her again!!”
“Colin took great care of our two dogs for the full day so we could go adventure a bit in Bend without worrying about our dogs. Appreciated the pictures sent as an update. Would definitely use again!”

About: My family always had dogs since I can remember. I hardly miss any opportunity for some dog pets. In the past, I did an internship at a veterinary clinic, and volunteered at an animal sanctuary. I am experienced taking care of young and old pups, and simple medical care is no problem. I have worked at an equine therapy farm and also gained skills on a high country station in NZ working with Clydesdale horses and herding dogs. Since living in Bend, I have started to walk and sit dogs more and more and can’t wait to get to know your dog! I’m working as a freelancer photographer. Dogwalking and boarding is giving me the perfect balance of getting outdoors and an opportunity to give all four legged friends a great time which always multiplies my happiness! Luckily, working as a photographer gives me a lot of flexibility on when I’m available. My home is dog friendly with a big fenced yard for outside time in between walks. There are shady and sunny spots and water always available. I will happily have your pet/s inside with me like it would be my own.

Jessica was extremely accommodating, especially since we requested her services the day before. Her property is perfect for watching dogs. She was friendly and reliable. She even sent photos of the dogs during their stay. This was our first experience with Rover, and it didn’t disappoint. Jessica was great!!!

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OR ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
