“Claire is very conscientious and caring and took excellent care of my cat on my recent trip. My cat seemed to really take to her although it's hard to imagine how any pet wouldn't love Claire's gentle and attentive nature. I highly recommend Claire!”
“Emily was fantastic! She was communicative, kind, and took such great care of our cat. She went above and beyond to make sure we came home to a fully clean litter box, too! I'm so glad we found someone we can fully trust with our kitty. And on top of all that, she also takes great pictures! Truly so grateful for everything she did ❤️”

“Sheila is incredible!! I can't emphasize enough how grateful I am to have found her through Rover. She took excellent care of my dogs while I was away on business and sent me such a detailed report afterward which was greatly appreciated. She is kind, respectful, and excellent with animals. I am so happy that I can rely on her from now on when I have to travel for work or need someone to help me with my pets.”

About: I have extensive experience working with dogs of all sizes. Growing up, my family had large dogs (90+ pounds) for almost all of my life. I have watched and pet-sat for dogs of all sizes in the past few years for neighbors and friends. I’ve recently moved back to the Massachusetts area after a travel-heavy job for the past few years, so no fur babies of my own yet! I look forward to re-exploring some of the wonderful walking trails the Cape offers with your furry friends! I’m currently working as a server part-time, so have plenty of time to play with, walk, and feed your dogs/cats. I am available for boarding or pet-sitting in your home most weeks, and for walks nearly every evening, plus morning and afternoon shifts every Tuesday and Wednesday. I have a large backyard and walking trails within a 10-minute walk from my house, perfect for leashed adventures! I do not have any pets in the house full-time, but may have my parent’s well-trained and friendly rescue in the house on occasional weekends.

About: Senior pets have a special place in my heart. I’ve had pets my whole life, growing up with two dogs, (A golden, named princess and a Vizsla, named Ruby Rose) and a handful of kitties whom I’ve loved till their 9th life. I am comfortable with administering medications, following specific diets, and attending to your pet’s unique quirks and specificities! I have dog-sat for friends and neighbors over the years, and I also pet sit on Trusted House Sitters I’m off work this summer, so pet care fits easily into my day! Mornings, afternoons, evenings, whatever works best for your pet’s routine. I focus on keeping your pet’s routine as normal as possible: same feeding schedule, same walk times. I’m attentive to details like locking doors and gates, keeping food/water fresh, and watching for any signs of stress or illness. I treat your home with the same care and respect I’d want for my own
“Caitlin was awesome! She took great care of our dog and was very understanding and accommodating when we needed to modify our service. Would definitely recommend her!”

“Karissa was absolutely wonderful! This was our first time leaving our pups for an extended period of time, and Karissa sent us so many updates and our pups looked so happy! It was a relief to know our pups were in reliable and kind hands. We will definitely be using her services again in the future. Highly recommend!!”
“Sarah took excellet care of my dog, cat, and the house, sent lots of pictures and communicated often. Very much appreciated because this was our first visit with Sarah so I'm always a little nervous. Would definintely book again.”

“Elizabeth popped in for a walk with Ari & was great at accessing her needs and making sure she was comfortable! She provided a very detailed update, so I was able to know my pup was safe. Ari seemed very happy and healthy after!”

“Susan was absolutely wonderful to work with and, more importantly, our dogs loved her immediately! She was prompt, personable, and spent a good amount of time with our dogs during a daytime drop in. We would love to use Susan again and highly recommend her services.”

“Kelly was absolutely awesome with our dogs who have never really had a sitter. She is very calm and well prepared with treats. Highly recommend her to anyone with anxiety prone dogs.”
About: I am entering my senior year at the University of Rhode Island, earning a degree in animal science, specializing in zoo and aquarium animal science with a focus on behavior and training. The classes I have taken at the university focus on animal biology, care, management, and behavior. I have had many animal care experiences ranging from cats and dogs, aquatic species at the Mystic Aquarium, and most recently caring for a geriatric elephant (so large dogs don’t scare me :))! Throughout my life I have had many pets from cats and dogs, to small mammals and reptiles. I have also had some experience training various animals, such as cats, chickens, bears and elephants! I have the basic skills to train using operant conditioning and positive reinforcement. I am working a part time summer job at a restaurant mostly working at night. I am available to do drop in visits throughout the day. I will not be able to take your pets into my home because I have pets of my own. Safety is my number one priority for myself and your pets and am willing to work through any challenges your pet may face!
“Thank you Skyla! It was great to be able to enjoy our day out knowing that the dogs were going to have a midday check in. Skyla was very communicative and jumped in to help with very little notice”

“Sharon was great! Our dogs were happy and safe when we got home. We were super grateful that she could accommodate our timing and for giving us local guidance on travel times. Sharon clearly loves dogs and is a true find!”

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Dennis. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
