About: I trained 3 service dogs for NEADS weekend puppy raiser program. All 3 dogs passed their service dog tests, 2 of them assist children with special needs and the other dog is a courthouse therapy dog. I also had a Bernese Mountain Dog for 10 years! Last year I volunteered at The Cat Connection in Boston where I cared for the shelter cats there. I am flexible on times to walk, but mornings and afternoons work best for me! Just let me know what time works best for you. I am comfortable dealing with any animal and will follow any special directions needed. About: I am entering my senior year at the University of Rhode Island, earning a degree in animal science, specializing in zoo and aquarium animal science with a focus on behavior and training. The classes I have taken at the university focus on animal biology, care, management, and behavior. I have had many animal care experiences ranging from cats and dogs, aquatic species at the Mystic Aquarium, and most recently caring for a geriatric elephant (so large dogs don’t scare me :))! Throughout my life I have had many pets from cats and dogs, to small mammals and reptiles. I have also had some experience training various animals, such as cats, chickens, bears and elephants! I have the basic skills to train using operant conditioning and positive reinforcement. I am working a part time summer job at a restaurant mostly working at night.
