“Kenzie went above and beyond! She took care of our pup like she was her own. She was even kind enough to add on my mom’s dog last minute for the check ins. She spent so much time caring and loving on them. We came home to happier dogs then when we had left.”

“Did great with our cat while away and leaving a new apt in move in shambles. Spent time with kitty and did what was asked. Not much more to say, will rebook in the future”

“Ting is amazing. I completely trust her taking care of our fur babies and being in our home while we were out of town. I have two elderly cats that required check in’s twice a day. My one cat is skittish and hides from people. Ting was gentle and patient with her and my cat who never approaches guests ended up engaging with her. I knew right then that Ting was a perfect person to care for her. Ting sent updates each visit and gave is peace of mind while we were away. We came home and litter was clean, litter area was swept and cats were content. I highly recommend Ting and will be using her for our pet sitting needs in the future.”

“Best doggie sitter ever! My Aspen was so happy to have colt and his wife check in on him and walk him. They took their time with him and made sure he had everything he needed before they left. Communication was great! I even got a report card each time with gorgeous pictures of my baby”

“Avery is so sweet! She was so amazing with my kitty Yuna. Avery provides perfect communication and never left me with a worry! I highly recommend and will be re booking in the future!”

“Laurie was great with our puppy even though she was a little extra than she normally is. But she took care of everything and more. Would definitely book again!”

About: My long time Love of animals and being able to share it and help others by caring for your pets is my passion. Available in your home. I care and love for your pets like you do. Available any day for a short visit or a long visit. Being there for you and your extended family is a high priority for me. I give nothing but the upmost safety precautions and true companionship for your pets while they are in my care at your home or mine.

About: I’ve worked with many dogs over the years and enjoy helping them become well-behaved and reliable. I focus on obedience, leash training, and potty training, using consistency and patience to build good habits. My goal is to make sure your dog feels comfortable while also learning skills they can carry back home. With a flexible schedule, I’m able to provide consistent, hands-on care throughout the day. Your dog will get regular exercise, structured routines, and plenty of attention—not long periods alone. I’m available for boarding, drop-ins, and walks, and I keep a reliable schedule for feeding, potty breaks, and playtime so your dog feels comfortable and settled. As a former firefighter, safety, awareness, and quick response are second nature to me. I live on 2 acres surrounded by 50 acres, giving dogs plenty of space to safely explore while still being fully supervised. I have three dogs of my own and understand pack dynamics, behavior, and structure. Whether your dog needs crate training, obedience reinforcement, or just a calm, secure environment, I tailor care to fit their needs and keep them safe, exercised, and stress-free.
“Outstanding is the only word that comes to mind. My sister (doing the overnight care for Zeus) somehow locked the porch door, which is how Farren and Kelly were to enter and provide access outside for a late-morning drop in. Long story short, she tried and tried tor each me (phone was not on me) and finally reached the hubby (he was sick!) and actually crawled through a sliding screen door to get in. Super sweet and was determined not to let Zeus go without his yard and 'business' time that morning! Thank you, Farren and Kelly, for your dedication and love for my elder boy at home. I'm sure he appreciated it very much and hope you at least got a puppy kiss for your efforts.”

“Vianca fue excelente con Lady le busco la vuelta y me dejo todo organizado. Llego siempre temprano y super comunicativa. La volvere a escoger para servicios futuros pq siguio mis intrusiones. :)”

“Emily took excellent care of my little cat Nicholas who requires twice daily medications due to his cancer. She is very caring and compassionate and I look forward to seeing her again in the future. HIGHLY recommend her...”
“Katie was great with our girl Zoey! She kept in touch, sent pictures, and even brought her a toy after Zoey annihilated all of hers. Will definitely request to use Katie again on our next trip!”

About: As someone who moved away from home, I really miss spending time with my family's dogs. That's one of the reasons I enjoy dog walking so much. I love getting outside, staying active, and giving dogs the attention, exercise, and care they deserve. I'm dependable, active, and committed to following your dog's routine so they feel comfortable, safe, and happy on every walk. I have a flexible schedule throughout the summer, including work-from-home days on Mondays and Fridays, which allows me to accommodate walks and pet care at a variety of times during the day. My hours are generally very flexible, so I'm happy to work around your pet's routine and needs. From August through December, my schedule becomes a more traditional 9–5, but I'm still available for mornings, evenings, and most weekends. Safety and trust are my top priorities when caring for pets. I carefully follow each owner’s instructions, pay close attention during walks and visits, and make sure pets stay comfortable in their familiar routine and environment. I’m dependable, respectful of clients’ homes, and happy to provide updates and photos for peace of mind.
About: Genuine love for all animals. I understand like humans, each dog is different and the most important thing I can do is make them comfortable being around me. Gaining their trust is what its all about. Being retired, I am able to set aside my daily routine for any special needs of your pet as it comes up. In most events, I can get to your house on short notice without delay. I have two dogs, a Golden Retriever and an Australian Kelpie. Both are juveniles that know the whole world revolves around them, which of course I accommodate.
About: I've had pets for my entire life. From cats to dogs, chickens to praying mantises. I've done cat-sitting for friends, including encouraging a problem eater and administering insulin shots. I'm good with dogs, using patient and gentle training techniques with my own animals. I only take one or 2 families at a time and if I already have a dog on my schedule, I'll match any others that I take that week in size and temperament. I work from home except for a few hours on Wednesday and Saturday mornings, so your dog will never be without a potty break more than 4 hrs during the day. I have a teenager who does remote school, so there is almost always someone home and awake with your dog. I only do boarding and day care, so I'm not running all over town doing drop-ins and walks while your dog is at my house. If your dog dislikes men, this is the perfect place for them. Just let me know and I'll make sure that they don't have any contact with any men dropping off or picking up dogs, delivery drivers, etc.

About: I’ve cared for animals of all kinds my entire life and understand the love and care necessary for them to feel safe and supported. I am honored to care for your pets while you care for you. I am currently working part time and typically have morning and evening availability daily. I am most available Fridays through Mondays though my schedule can wax and wane. I will prioritize caring for your pets in your home or through drop in/walking services. I prioritize maintaining your pets’ routines and helping them feel safe.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - DeLand
This is the second time we've used Avery, and she did a good job for us again. She even sent us pictures via email since she knew we may not have been able to access the Rover app on our cruise. Our pup seemed to be well taken care of when we returned from our vacation.

Kayleigh did a great job looking after my 2 kitties for 10 days. She came to my home twice a day to provide food and water for them and clean their litter boxes. She reported every visit to me with pictures. My kitties were definitely in capable hands and I would hire her again.

Colt & Erica are amazing!!! They have been coming to our house for weeks now to do drop-in visits with our pups 3x per week and it goes smoothly every time! They do everything we need them to do including locking doors/turning on lights/etc. Colt even cleaned up 💩 when our dog wasn’t feeling good and had an accident inside. Could not recommend Colt & Erica enough!!

Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a DeLand stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in DeLand. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
