“A very safe wonderful place for my pup for the day. Easy access to their place and an adorable clean neighborhood. Lots of pics and walks. Ideal situation for us. Rachael was wonderful.”

“Alma is amazing with my (initially) timid pup, Gambler! He warmed up to her quickly, and he had a great time playing with her dog and going for pack walks in the neighborhood. I got pictures and updates throughout the day, which made me feel comfortable and reassured that he was adjusting to the new environment. He always comes home happy and tired, which is perfect!”

“Lindsay was great! She gave us tips on where to find vegan food, where we could park our RV as we were going on a whale watching tour. She took Maddie for walks and sent us pictures. Maddie was very comfortable with Lindsay. Lindsay was always quick to answer when we had questions. We highly recommend her.”

“Annie was fantastic! Winnie is not the easiest of dogs and Annie was gentle and patient with her. She found ways around things that Winnie doesn't enjoy, like being picked up, which is necessary because she can't do stairs.”

About: Hi everyone! I grew up in Minnesota in a house full of spaniels. Since then, I have dog-sat for family and friends for short and extended periods! I have also raised a fur baby of my own- my (almost 2) year old Sussex Spaniel, Gus. Pet care fits into my daily/ weekly schedule naturally, as I have a dog of my own. I’m currently working a fully remote job, and can accommodate pet needs easily throughout the day! I build my day around making sure my dog gets enough love, care, attention, and exercise, and will do the same for yours! I strive to follow your dog’s routine as closely as possible, whether in my home or yours. At my place, I have a friendly dog that would love to play and keep yours company. At yours, I will respect the space and routine, provide regular updates, and give your dog plenty of attention and affection!

“Meghan made our first Rover experience a breeze. She was patient and informative with all my questions regarding the process, especially on such short notice! Amazing with both our poodles, Lahey who still acts like a big puppy and Quincy who is a senior. Communication was great. If you are in need of someone watching your babies while in Portland, take comfort in knowing Meghan is genuinely a nice person who loves animals and will take such great care of your fur babies. I’m so grateful of how well she took care of mine! A+++!!”

About: I've always had dogs in my life, and I think they deserve to be treated with love, patience & spoiled too! I'm comfortable with teacup-sized to the biggest dogs. I have a lab named Penne who loves to welcome new friends into our home! I work from home, so I have plenty of time to give pups all the love they need during their stay. I usually walk Penne 3x a day in Deering Oaks & let her run around the fenced-in yard if the weather is nice. For puppies I can do more-frequent runs! I am generous with treats, happy to have pets on furniture, and love to give pups love. I understand the concern with leaving your pup behind during work or a trip all too well, so I'm happy to give regular updates & pictures!

About: I know the answer to both sides of that question; having gone years without a pet, and then falling in love with a rolly, romping little pug who my partner and I were blessed to have 16 1/2 years. When we lost him, our hearts were broken, (and still are), and our home less rowdy and happy. Knowing I could never replace him, I've decided to open my home to those pups (and some cats) who need a place to camp out while moms, dads and families are away. And that's why I'm here on Rover. I work from home nearly every day and when not, there are cameras to monitor my four-legged visitors and I'm in to let your baby out during the day without fail. I live just off Portland's Eastern Promenade with plenty of room for walks and play. I'm a professional type with a background as a veterinary technician, (during college and a while afterward). The sweeter and more cuddly your baby is, all the better because I love doggy hugs, playing catch and babying friendly, non-aggressive dogs. Feel free to send me a note with any questions! *Please note that rates are based on the portion that the Rovver platform acquires from the fee paid by the customer. The platform takes a healthy amount from sitters and unfortunately, I must factor that in to what I charge for services. :( I have had and cared for dogs most of my life. I have a background as a veterinary technician and caregiver as well as volunteering for shelters and adoption programs. Whether sitting in your home or mine, I'm extremely attentive to established schedules like feeding time, medication schedules and the like. (I don't accept a lot of client site house sitting but when I do, I'm pretty tidy and often like spending time doing small house chores, so you'll never come back to a home more messy than you left it, and likely a bit cleaner. I love giving attention to dogs, (labs, goldens and pugs especially!). Clean/well groomed pets pretty much get the run of the house when it comes to hanging out on the sofa and, maybe even the bed. But your preferences for crating and sleep/rest time, like everything else will be strictly followed.

“Alexandra was wonderful and an affectionate sitter! She accommodated our crazy schedule when setting up our initial meet and greet. The minute she saw Brooklyn, and Brooklyn saw her, we could tell they were going to enjoy each other's company. Alexandra mentioned her prior experience with dogs and having always been a "dog person". During our trip out of state, Alexandra coordinated closely with our friend who had been caring for Brooklyn long term, while she took Brooklyn for a couple days to allow for our friends to attend a few activities they had planned. I look forward to booking Alexandra again!”

“Emma was wonderful and our dog seemed right at home with her. Emma was very responsive to our messages and also send a few pics of our pup to let us know he was happy. While it was a short stay this time, We will absolutely have Emma watch our dog whenever we are in Portland.”

“Our 5 month old puppy moose loved daycare with Emilia! After getting neutered he needed a break from daycare to fully recover. Emilia did a great job at keeping him entertained throughout the day, while keeping a close eye on his stitches. Every night we picked up moose he was so tired from all the fun he had! We will definitely be using Emilia again in the future!”

“Joshua and his wife were amazing with my dog while we were visiting the area. They sent pictures and videos and were so flexible and accommodating. It was obvious that my dog was very happy to stay with them during the day.”

“Christine was a terrific sitter for our dogs and we look forward to using her services again for boarding later this month. She was attentive, kind, and understanding. Above all, she’s an excellent communicator. I would definitely recommend her.”

“my pup always loves going to see lucy and ikenna! and they always take such great care of him! i always get updates through the day, and he gets lots of love and playtime!”

Alicia C.
“Alicia has had pets her entire life, and all of them lived long, happy, and healthy lives. She loves all dogs, and pats attention to what they like/listen to take care of them the way they are used to. She has dog sit for friends, and I can personally say she takes great care of our dog, Penne. She is constantly going above and beyond for her, and blows me out of the water consistently in exercising her, training her, or just generally making her feel happy and safe.”
