About: I’ve been surrounded by animals my entire life and have always considered pets part of the family. I grew up with both cats and dogs and currently spend lots of time with our family’s high-energy Blue Heeler mix, who keeps me active and reminds me how much enrichment, exercise, and attention all animals need to thrive. I've also bonded with many "problematic" cats who were said to have been "near-feral" or "unadoptable" and helped coax them a bit out of their trauma into being more open to human touch and affection. I have experience doing basic grooming for cats: bathing, brushing, shaving away mats, trimming claws, brushing teeth, and cleaning ears. I do not have experience doing "style" cuts for cats. About: I raised, trained, and cared for my family dog from a puppy when I was in high school. Post college I adopted a senior dog and cared for him for the last couple of years of his life. In the meantime I have been a sitter for friends and family dogs and cats over the years. I am used to giving medications (even when it needs to be disguised) and staying on a feeding schedules. I am very up for caring for senior dogs who want to lay around the house, and equally ready to go on long walks with a dog with more energy. I work from home always, so will be around during the day for pups who like to hang! I'm on the East End of Portland with the Eastern Prom very close by so plenty of places to walk and explore. I am usually out and about in the evenings for a few hours at a time. On the weekends I like to be busy, but can certainly adjust my time when I have a dog or cat around. About: I have been a pet carer since I could hold a spoon and scoop cat food onto a plate. My family had two cats for my entire childhood; they lived to 18 and 19 years old! I have cat-sat for friends and family for all my life and through this have become extremely comfortable with cats—from the grumpy to the cuddly. I have given cats medicine in most forms that don't require a certification (pills, syringe, in food, inhalers, ointments... just no injections!) and have sitted for kittens, cats with illnesses like chronic respiratory issues, cancer, and severe skin allergies, and have no queasiness when it comes to the realities of life with cats! With dogs, I have more of the proper pet-sitting experience. That has really ramped up in the last year, since we moved to Portland and into an apartment that is pet-friendly. I have loved getting to know each dog and adjusting so they have the best time possible (it can't be easy leaving home for a stranger's house!). For example, one dog tends to have a much better, more peaceful day if I get him out to the woods for a run/walk in the morning before work (who wouldn't!) Another loves to cuddle, so we put a blanket on the couch so that she can snuggle while we watch TV at night with constant pets. Another is whip-smart, so I try to make sure we do extra enrichment/play time. With all animals, I try to go above and beyond and see them as individuals with distinct personalities and needs. :) I am a work-from-home journalist who would absolutely love some company, playtime, cuddles, and more reasons to get outside during the day. Sadly, I travel too much right now to adopt a pet of my own. I would very much appreciate the opportunity to bond with and share my space with an animal! My work schedule is incredibly flexible, but in general I am home all day, with some sort of exercise in the morning that I would be happy to make part of the pet sitting experience, a remote work day wherein I have a lot of freedom to take breaks. Alejandro has been very easy to work with, I booked for reoccurring walks for the time I am incapacitated, he has a planned vacation in the middle of my needs. We worked out a schedule that would meet both of our needs. After a few days of being laid up, no one was helping with my pups morning walks. About: Longtime dog lover and owner, current parent of a 9-year-old Siberian Husky service dog whom I trained to myself. I love dogs of all sizes and shapes and personalities and I can't wait to meet all the wonderful furkids that I'll be looking after in the future. I'm always telling people "I may have trouble remembering your name, but I will always remember your pet's name." Though I am small in stature I'm actually quite strong and can handle large/muscular dogs (and the occasional feral cat when necessary), because I just know how to move with them/guide them. I'm also not intimidated by aggressive behavior in animals, nor do I meet it with aggression in return. I always try to calm the animal and figure out the issue, putting myself between them and anyone/anything that might upset them further. I have a personality/presence that dogs seem to love, from the timid to the social, the calm to the active. I'm a fast walker, so your dog will certainly get a workout they'll love as they keep pace with me, but I can also meander when needed for the older dogs and fumbling puppies. I have experience doing basic grooming for dogs: bathing, brushing, shaving away mats, clipping nails, trimming the fur between pawpads, brushing teeth, and cleaning ears. I do not have experience doing "style" cuts for dogs. I know snake pet care as well, so feel free to inquire if you need someone to look after your danger noodle! Pet care is my primary work focus right now as I work through completing my online schooling towards getting my degree and Vet Tech licence. I have a backyard for your dog to play in alongside my very friendly Husky. It's not fenced in, but I keep a spare long-lead on-hand, same kind as I use for my girl, for guest dogs. If your dog is an especially strong one please let me know and I'll make sure to have an lead appropriate for your dogs weight strength available. Inside the house is dog-friendly and spacious, and I can crate your dog if needed. My dog is allowed on the couch and my bed, so do let me know if those are no-go areas for your dog. If your cat likes outside time I can provide walks and/or put them out in the backyard on the spare long-lead.

My two cats, August and Ivy, are the absolute loves of my life - My goal is simple: to provide your beloved pets with the exact same high standard of care, safety, and affection that my own two companions receive at home. I work in the office 3 days a week, but I have an hour for lunch and live only 7 min from my office. If close enough I will be able to check in midday as well as morning and after work. I have a fenced yard, though my cats are indoor only I have taken care of my neighbors dogs and enjoy playing fletch for round after round after round. I am organized and will have notes based on what you need for each drop in, will supply pictures, be there on time and stay the whole time. I have been on Rover for a few years now in Illinois and moved to Maine in January 2025. I've enjoyed meeting and caring for the pets of Maine! I have also worked for family friends and neighbors since I was a teenager. I have a hybrid work schedule, working from home 2-3 days a week and in office Tuesdays and Wednesdays, late morning until about 8pm. As long as I’m within a reasonable distance from the office I can easily accommodate quick drop-ins for potty breaks. I only care for pets in their homes. About: I grew up with dogs and I miss the pure joy they have for this world. I can't own one with my current situation, but would love to look after yours. I'm a working professional who is kind and courteous. If you want me to know anything ask, feel free to ask! -Alex I work a full time remote job, with easy morning and evening walking times. The afternoon tends to be a bit busier for me so I may not be able to take an extended break but can make sure your pup has plenty of bathroom breaks and long walks. I am kind and courteous of other people's space. I offer sitting in your space or walks, because my apartment doesn't allow me to have dogs.
About: I take myself out for walks anyway, dogs are just amazing company! I'm excited to get your dogs moving outside in a safe way that burns off some energy and allows exploration! I love being outdoors in any weather condition. Being away from home, I dearly miss my own dog, so spending quality time with some of the best creatures in the world is an amazing added bonus. I’m available weekdays before 11:30, and any time on weekends! I work in the afternoons, so my availability is before 11:30 and after 6 pm on weekdays. I’m happy to be flexible to suit your changing needs, especially if something comes up last minute that you need support with! I know it’s an act of extreme trust to have another person interact with your fur babies and I take that responsibility extremely seriously!! Whether in your home, my home, or just walking around the neighborhood, I promise to pay attention to, care for, and love your pets like they are my own!

About: I have loved and been loved by animals my entire life. :-) t would be my absolute honor to care for your pet! I have off-app pet sitting/walking and house sitting experience. I am comfortable with all personalities or ages. I currently regularly watch a reactive golden doodle and two kitties. On top of that, I also have my own baby cat named Jojo. I am extremely flexible and willing to answer any questions. I look forward to meeting your loved ones. Please reach out with any additional information wanted! I work full time Sunday-Thursday from 3pm-11pm. I am available for any pet care before 3pm on those days, and all day long on Friday and Saturday. I am also willing to be flexible and see what I can do for emergency situations where a pet needs attention while I am at work. I love being active! Taking dogs for walks, play and providing enrichment is something I value a lot. I also believe play and attention are important for cats too. About: I was raised with cats and dogs and i have kept them into my adult life. Not having them would be a tragedy. I look forward to caring for your fur baby as they are my own. I am constantly taking care of my kitten and my 2 other cats and I help my friend with his pupper often and love every minute of it. I can go to your place or watch them here your call. If your animal is comfier at home then that is no problem at all for me. My home is quiet and currently dog free. My cats are currently livng ful time at my friends as i jist moved to this new place and into my significant others place so no need to worry about clashing.
