“Our pup is a sensitive, nervous guy. Marna made sure he felt loved and at home. I could tell he was having fun with her family through the photos she sent. She filled us in each day and sent photos. 🤩 Will definitely use Marna again!”

“Louise is so happy getting out of the car at Elisabeth’s. She is so well cared for and Elisabeth always sends updates of what she’s up to and how much fun she’s having. So grateful to Elisabeth and highly recommend her and her sweet dogs!!”

“After our meet & greet, Shorty was so happy to go back to Vicky & Bobby's, he couldn't wait to get out of the car. They have a great house & awesome back yard perfect for dogs. Their dogs Magic & Brooklyn were great with Shorty, & he sometimes has problems with new dogs. Vicky sent me great pics every & really put my mind at ease, seeing Shorty livin the doggy life. Vicky even brought Shorty to work with her at the pet hospital where she works & I know he loved that. Travis, Bobby's brother was also really great & Shorty warmed up to him right away. Shorty is used to sleeping on the bed & they allowed that, and also figured out something yummy for him to eat when he wouldn't. I highly endorse Vicky & Bobby, & Shorty's looking forward to his next vacay!”

“Viva is awesome. Timely, communicative and thoughtful with her questions. She made sure all the boxes were checked in terms of my dogs needs and habits. Pictures and updates everyday, which was awesome! She and her partner took the time to bring her on some great adventures too. Totally thankful for a no-stress experience so I could enjoy my vacation!”

“Sarah took care of Ginger for a week. She not only exceeded my expectations, Ginger was very happy too. Ginger was not as excited to see me as much as she usually does since she adapted so well to Sarah. I plan to use Sarah again.”

About: Hi everyone! I grew up in Minnesota in a house full of spaniels. Since then, I have dog-sat for family and friends for short and extended periods! I have also raised a fur baby of my own- my (almost 2) year old Sussex Spaniel, Gus. Pet care fits into my daily/ weekly schedule naturally, as I have a dog of my own. I’m currently working a fully remote job, and can accommodate pet needs easily throughout the day! I build my day around making sure my dog gets enough love, care, attention, and exercise, and will do the same for yours! I strive to follow your dog’s routine as closely as possible, whether in my home or yours. At my place, I have a friendly dog that would love to play and keep yours company. At yours, I will respect the space and routine, provide regular updates, and give your dog plenty of attention and affection!

“Katie went above and beyond with Reba! She was very responsive and accommodating and gave our dog plenty of love and attention during our stay in Portland. I would highly recommend Katie for anyone needing dog sitting services and we will definitely be reaching out to her the next time we're in the Portland area.”

“We left our four year-old cocker spaniel named Charlie with Kelly for four days. We never felt out of touch with him because Kelly gave us daily updates with pictures. Charlie was immediately comfortable with her in his new surroundings. He had lots of exercise time and came home very happy! Highly recommend!!”

“Gwen helped us out at the last minute and saved the day when we discovered that our Portland hotel would not allow us to bring our dog. Our pup immediately took to Gwen who was warm and friendly. Gwen sent photos of our dog happy and cozy in her care. Would highly recommend!”

“Terrific - lovely, caring person and nice comfy environment and quiet neighborhood. When we came to pick Molly up she was was clearly content and comfortable. We get a much bigger “Glad you’re back” response when we leave her at home alone for an hour.”

About: I grew up with a Shiba Inu, an American Shorthair, and two Ragdoll in my home. Having pets around me shaped who I am today. I enjoy being around animals, and I can’t wait to take care of your pets when you are inconvenient! My working schedule is very flexible and I have hybrid schedule that allows me to be home from Friday to Monday every week. I can also stay home longer than four days if necessary. I can take photos and record videos to keep the owner updated. The owner can request for when they wanted the pictures to be taken.

“Anne was just wonderful..very caring and loving. We received pictures daily so we could see our sweet boy. We were able to enjoy our mini vacation with no worries! Thank you Anne!!!!”

About: I've always had dogs in my life, and I think they deserve to be treated with love, patience & spoiled too! I'm comfortable with teacup-sized to the biggest dogs. I have a lab named Penne who loves to welcome new friends into our home! I work from home, so I have plenty of time to give pups all the love they need during their stay. I usually walk Penne 3x a day in Deering Oaks & let her run around the fenced-in yard if the weather is nice. For puppies I can do more-frequent runs! I am generous with treats, happy to have pets on furniture, and love to give pups love. I understand the concern with leaving your pup behind during work or a trip all too well, so I'm happy to give regular updates & pictures!

“Rose is an incredible sitter! Poppy was with her for a weekend and was so well cared for— we received so many pictures and constant communication which was amazing! Book with Rose!”

About: I know the answer to both sides of that question; having gone years without a pet, and then falling in love with a rolly, romping little pug who my partner and I were blessed to have 16 1/2 years. When we lost him, our hearts were broken, (and still are), and our home less rowdy and happy. Knowing I could never replace him, I've decided to open my home to those pups (and some cats) who need a place to camp out while moms, dads and families are away. And that's why I'm here on Rover. I work from home nearly every day and when not, there are cameras to monitor my four-legged visitors and I'm in to let your baby out during the day without fail. I live just off Portland's Eastern Promenade with plenty of room for walks and play. I'm a professional type with a background as a veterinary technician, (during college and a while afterward). The sweeter and more cuddly your baby is, all the better because I love doggy hugs, playing catch and babying friendly, non-aggressive dogs. Feel free to send me a note with any questions! *Please note that rates are based on the portion that the Rovver platform acquires from the fee paid by the customer. The platform takes a healthy amount from sitters and unfortunately, I must factor that in to what I charge for services. :( I have had and cared for dogs most of my life. I have a background as a veterinary technician and caregiver as well as volunteering for shelters and adoption programs. Whether sitting in your home or mine, I'm extremely attentive to established schedules like feeding time, medication schedules and the like. (I don't accept a lot of client site house sitting but when I do, I'm pretty tidy and often like spending time doing small house chores, so you'll never come back to a home more messy than you left it, and likely a bit cleaner. I love giving attention to dogs, (labs, goldens and pugs especially!). Clean/well groomed pets pretty much get the run of the house when it comes to hanging out on the sofa and, maybe even the bed. But your preferences for crating and sleep/rest time, like everything else will be strictly followed.

“Alicia has had pets her entire life, and all of them lived long, happy, and healthy lives. She loves all dogs, and pats attention to what they like/listen to take care of them the way they are used to. She has dog sit for friends, and I can personally say she takes great care of our dog, Penne. She is constantly going above and beyond for her, and blows me out of the water consistently in exercising her, training her, or just generally making her feel happy and safe.”

Deering Center dog parents share their Rover experiences
Thank you Gwen! Five stars! Gwen was super professional, super friendly, and my dog was clearly relaxed and happy with Gwen and her home within minutes! I can’t say enough great things: Excellent communication, a dog lover who truly knows animals, and someone who takes it all seriously! My dog was so relaxed and happy in Gwen’s care that I will absolutely call her again, and I recommend her to everyone. Truly a great experience for me and my dog! Thanks Gwen!

Claudia and Jason were wonderful with Lawson! They kept me updated throughout the day with plenty of pictures and details about their activities. Their attention to detail was exceptional, and they made sure Lawson was comfortable the entire time. I would absolutely recommend them to friends!

First time using the app and I was blessed by the universe to land Andrew and I couldn’t have asked for a better person to keep our sweet baby. He showed true interest in caring for her, genuine kindness and professionalism. I’d get updates with pictures and she always looked like she was having a blast. Can’t recommend him enough.

Bee had a fun time at Hannah’s! This was my first time using a Rover sitter for my dog, and Hannah made me feel at ease about the whole process. She made sure to ask all the important questions to prepare for Bee’s visit, and sent pictures every day to update me on how Bee was doing. I would definitely request Hannah again for dog sitting - she did a wonderful job handling all the energy of my 8 month old pup and made her feel comfortable being away from home.

Karli was the best rover ever! We boarded our dog with her over the weekend while we got married on peaks island. Karli was easy to reach and she kept us with timely updates. She went over the top even bringing our dog on the ferry to meet us. I highly recommend her to anyone in the area looking for a kind, nice, and communicative rover.

Anderson took great care of my senior dog Jake. Jake has been accustomed to being in his own house with a yard and a house sitter so I was concerned with his first boarding experience in many years. Anderson connected with Jake right away and it was clear through his updates that Jake was in good hands.

I know Edna is not only well cared for but relaxed and happy at Kathleen's. It took us forever to find the right spot for Edna, our fierce and curious Schnauzer-Yorkie, and Kathleen's place is like a home away from home. I cannot recommend her and her household enough.
