About: Twenty plus years of fun taking care of cats, dogs of different breeds, temperaments, ages, and sizes, and even some chickens. Including Noah's ark - a rabbit, hamster, rat, and fish. I have completed Rover's safety dog video. I grew up with dogs. My energy level is low-key and calm, which enables pets to relax. I give daily text updates and send photos. I have experience in giving shots (to my cat, who had diabetes), playing tug of war, throwing the ball, and taking Fido for walks. Currently I am not working a permanent job, so my availability is wide open (other than Sunday morning commitments & taking care of my place each day). About: At this point in my life, I have cared for almost any domestic, exotic or farm animal that one can run into! Time spent working with snakes and spiders in a reptile shop, working on farms with cattle, goats and chickens, and caring for everyones furry companions like cats, dogs and rodents in homes has left me feeling well prepared to handle whatever critters come our way. My remaining pet is Sharkbait, a 9 year old heeler mix, who has been the everywhere and everything dog with me for the last 8+ years. She has met all of the above animals in her time and is the ultimate friend to all. As a retired service animal, she is kind and intuitive while responding calmly to reactive animals she meets. This makes her the perfect travel companion and buddy for all your babies and she will always be with me on sitting and walking jobs as she and I like to stay very active, walking anywhere from 2-6 miles daily together. Lets chat about your animals specific needs and background! Being active is a huge part of my day and I love making sure your animals are included in that! Walks to the park and jogs around the block are my favorite way to keep your pets focus while expending that pent up energy. For homebody pets I love a good puzzle or snuffle toy to keep their minds working in their safe space. Meet and greets together as a family are priority so that when you're out of town or at work, your pet(s) can trust Sharkbait and I are there to support them. About: I am one of those humans who prefer animals over other humans. I recently lost my dog child, Ace, after rescuing him 9 years ago. It has since occurred to me that it would really help me heal if I got to start loving and caring for other people's dog children. I have been caring for animals since I was a kiddo, farm animals too. I grew up in Wisconsin, and there was never a shortage of animals on our farmland. On a day-to-day basis, I am a grad student at Portland State working towards my Masters in Social Work. I have been working for 22 years as a nurse and suddenly find myself wanting to change gears.
