Georgia was fantastic! She was available on short notice and took amazing care of our dog, Milo. Our dog is an anxious rescue, but she is a dog whisperer and immediately put our boy at ease and he was even wanting to sleep with her night one and showing his belly which he doesn’t do unless he’s 100% comfortable. I apologized for running low on his supplies and for him being a little stinky since his bath was delayed and she didn’t even hesitate to offer to go grab what he needed and even offered to bathe him. On top of taking great care of him, she took care of us anxious dog parents and communicated every step of the way and gave lots of updates and pictures. I couldn’t recommend her enough. Will definitely be using her in the future.

Daniela is the best. Lots of walks and plenty of snuggles. I’m pretty sure Wrigley liked her more than he does us. The neighbors even commented on how polite she was when Wrigley did his business in their yard on accident and offered to clean it up. We got a good laugh out of it. I hope she is available next time.

About: I love helping my friends and family with their pets! I’m reliable and responsible when it comes to pet care. I strive to be kind and gentle with all animals :) I work mostly full time 9:00am until about 3:00pm Monday-Friday. I’m free most weekends! Prefer to stay at home and happy to do drop ins. My sweet kitty, Nova, loves all the cuddles and playing with her toys or, of course, random objects. I clean her litter box daily & her automatic feeder keeps her feeding schedule on time and reliable as well as her gravity water feeder. Sweeping litter and keeping her food area clean is a must!

About: I have over 10 years of hands-on experience caring for pets of all ages, sizes, and temperaments. I previously worked in a veterinary clinic, where I gained experience with medication administration, monitoring health changes, senior pet care, and handling anxious or special-needs animals. I’m confident caring for puppies, seniors, and pets with medical or dietary needs. I treat every pet like family and prioritize comfort, safety, and routine. I currently have a flexible schedule that allows me to dedicate plenty of time and attention to pet care. I’m available for weekday and weekend services, including drop-ins, walks, and overnight care. Because of my flexible availability, I can easily accommodate feeding schedules, medication times, and pets who need extra supervision or companionship. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I follow all care instructions closely and maintain a calm, clean, and secure environment. With my veterinary experience, I’m trained to recognize signs of stress or illness and respond appropriately. I’m comfortable administering medications, caring for senior pets, and adjusting care routines to meet each pet’s individual needs. I always provide updates so owners feel confident and at ease.

About: I have hands-on experience caring for dogs of all needs, including raising and rescuing a three-legged dog, which taught me patience and how to handle disabilities and medical care. I’m comfortable with routines and medications and always prioritize a dog’s comfort and safety. I’ve pet sat many times, often while babysitting, so I’m reliable and responsible. I’m also experienced with puppies, currently raising a French Bulldog and an Australian Shepherd, and I bring patience, attention, and genuine love to every dog I care for. Pet care fits well into my routine. Monday–Thursday I babysit from 8–3, so I’m available early mornings, afternoons, evenings, and late nights. I can do drop-ins, walks, or feedings around that schedule and stay consistent. On weekends, I’m fully available at any time of day, which allows me to provide more flexible care, including longer visits or overnight stays depending on your pet’s needs. I care for pets in their own home to keep them comfortable and stress-free in a familiar environment. I closely follow their normal routine, including feeding schedules, walks, potty breaks, and any specific instructions you provide. My goal is to maintain a clean, organized space while also making sure your pet has plenty of fun, exercise, and attention. I’m experienced with puppies, high-energy dogs, seniors, and dogs with medical needs, and I can administer medications if needed. I always respect your home and leave it just as clean as I found it.

About: Hi my name is Lorena! I am 25 years old and very active. Ive been on the Rover app for a couple years now and have not had a bad experience. I’ve owned many dogs throughout my life so I know the requirements of taking care of them. For the most part I am available/ flexible and reply as soon as possible. I adore animals and always pet whichever ones I come across!(if friendly) Cleaning up after them would be no problem. I can provide care for dogs of all ages and sizes! Responsibility is a major part of caring for a pet and I understand all the guidelines. My love for animals is endless. I am trustworthy, flexible, consistent, honest and experienced to take care of your pet! For most part of my day I am home so your fur pet will definitely be accompanied most of the time. I have time during my day for walks and whatever else is needed for your pets care including taking prescribed meds. Depending on your pet and their comfort or training level they are welcome to roam around my home. I do not leave anything laying around on the floor that could cause a chocking hazard or be harmful to the dog.

We recently had the pleasure of having Sam watch our two dogs for nearly an entire week, and we couldn’t be more grateful for the care and attention he provided. Sam went above and beyond, even rearranging his work schedule to make sure our dogs were well looked after. He maintained their regimented routine, preparing their unique meals twice a day and taking them out for potty breaks and exercise an additional 3-4 times per day. His conscientiousness really showed in everything he did. Sam stayed overnight in our home, ensuring our dogs felt safe, secure, and comfortable in our absence. His communication was excellent—he sent us multiple photo updates throughout each day, which gave us such peace of mind. It was clear from the photos (and when we returned!) that our dogs were happy, calm, and well cared for. Honestly, I don’t think they even realized we were gone! Sam is incredible with animals, and it’s obvious he has a natural connection with dogs. He’s also friendly, respectful, and trustworthy. Knowing he was there allowed us to enjoy a much-needed vacation without any worry. We’re already planning to book Sam again for our next trip! If you’re looking for someone dependable, kind, and dedicated to caring for your pets as if they were his own, we can’t recommend Sam highly enough. Thank you again, Sam!

Thomas took care of my dogs, Mic, Nana, and Chabella for 4 days, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. From the start, his communication was excellent—he kept me updated almost every day, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. He was always on time, responsible, and very attentive. He asked thoughtful questions to really understand their routines and needs, which showed how much he genuinely cared. What truly stood out was how above and beyond he went—he also helped with cleaning, and his mom came every day to assist him with the dogs. That level of support, care, and dedication meant so much to me. Most importantly, my dogs absolutely loved him. That says everything. Knowing they were happy and comfortable made it so much easier for me to relax. I felt completely at ease leaving them in his care, and I would 100% trust him again. I highly recommend Thomas to anyone looking for someone reliable, caring, and truly great with animals.

FAQs for House Sitting - Cross Mountain

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Cross Mountain on Rover is $49.95 per night (as of June 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of June 2026, there are 1,716 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Cross Mountain. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Cross Mountain walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Cross Mountain maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Cross Mountain choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Cross Mountain. On Rover:

  • 88% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
