“Lisa was great! Ellie stayed with her for two nights and is now home and sleepy from playing so much with Lisa’s dogs. She sent pictures and kept us updated. And her home was super dog-friendly. Thanks so much, Lisa!”

“Jennifer was such an amazing pet sitter!!! She cared for my cats for what was supposed to be 5 days but I ended up dealing with a last minute travel nightmare which prevented me from picking up on the agreed date and time. Jennifer was so gracious and kept my cats 2 additional days last min. She sent frequent videos and pics to let me know they were ok. Jennifer is also super sweet 🤗. If you're in need of a cat sitter I would highly recommend booking with Jennifer. Thank you again for your kindness and for being so accommodating when I was in a bind!”

“Shaun and his family take great care of our pup Skye, who always comes home happy and tired. I feel extremely confident that Skye is treated as a part of their family.”

“Jen was super flexible on drop-off & pick up times & extended schedule. She was proactive in sending photos of my dog from walks & generous in using extra dog booties on my dogs paws to keep him cleaner. Last minute I had some probiotics & med to give my dog & she was ok with that too! I would definitely be confortable leaving my fur baby with Jen & highly recommend her.”

“Veronica was fantastic! As an outdoor cat, finding someone who could care for Juno, with safety as the first priority, but also allow her to retain her sense of freedom and independence was always going to be a tough ask. We found that with Veronica - would highly recommend! Very kind, sent us lots of photos and even got Juno some special treats and toys.”

“This was the first time I was apart from my dog for more than two days and the first day that I left the dog with a non relative. It was great to have someone as responsive and responsible as Vincent taking care of my dog. It is clear that Vincent loves dogs and does a great job taking care of them. When I picked my dog up it was clear he had a good week, was healthy, well fed and very happy.”

“Jacqueline is by far the BEST doggie sitter I have ever been to. She not only cares for your dog or dogs as her own that she truly goes above and beyond for them. I dropped him off the other day and told her he was tired so she put him down for a nap. I don’t think there’s anyone in the world I would trust other than my family with my dog except Jacquline and her family. They are also kind and compassionate and I highly highly recommend them.”

“Jenny was great with our dig, Riley. She asked lots of smart questions to be sure Riley was getting the best care and staying on his routine. She sent photos and was very accommodating when out flight delay resulted in a later than expected pick up. I highly recommend Jenny and will certainly call on her again.”

“Linda was a wonderful host for our pup Feynman while my wife. She has a huge fenced in yard for pups to run around and shared frequent photo updates for Feynman. Great communication all around. We had a great experience and definitely recommend her as a host!”

“My husband and I didn’t make a mistake trusting Dhruvit to take care our 3montha old puppy for 2 nights (May2-3). When we did meet and greet Juno was already happy to meet Dhruvit and family. He didn’t even want to leave 🙂. While we were away, Dhruvit kept sending photos and kept us posted! So we felt comfortable and knew that Juno is safe and having a good time. Thanks Dhruvit and family! We will refer Dhruvit to our friends!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Cranford
We couldn’t have asked for a better experience with Lucas & Katherine! Our Vizsla, Rudy was welcomed into Lucas & Katherine’s lovely home like family and he received so much love and attention from these dog lovers while we were away. We appreciated the regular updates and photos, which gave us complete peace of mind. Rudy came home happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for. We are so grateful for their exceptional care and have already booked a stay again with Lucas & Katherine! We highly recommend Lucas & Katherine to anyone looking for a caring, reliable, and trustworthy dog sitter!

Our dogs had an amazing time on his stay with Ekaterina, her husband and their 3 wonderful children! This was our family’s first time using Rover and it went very well. If you are looking for your dog to be treated like one of the family these are the people to choose! If your dog wants to have ball play, sleepovers, walks and plenty of backyard activities, this is the place. The most important factor for us was caring for our older dog’s special needs. Ekaterina and her husband had experience to manage our dogs medication regime and we had peace of mind while on vacation. It was most comforting to see our dog throughout the day and night in photos! We highly recommend them.

Javier took exceptional care of my fur baby and went above and beyond to make both of us feel comfortable from the very beginning. It was clear that she was well cared for, loved, and happy while I was away. I truly appreciated the updates, kindness, and professionalism. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog sitter!

Griffey seemed so comfortable and happy in his first stay with Tynesha and family! This was his first stay with anybody outside of our family, and we immediately knew he was in great hands from the initial meeting. The regular updates and photos kept us reassured that he was having a great time. We will absolutely be coming back to Tynesha for any future dog sitting needs!

Victor and Lessly did a fantastic job taking care of our dog while we were away for a long weekend. It was clear that they treated him like family and he was well loved and entertained. We really appreciated the regular photos and updates about his day, and that they were extremely responsive. We highly recommend them and will definitely reach out to them whenever we are going out of town without our pup again!

Lauren was such a pleasure to have as a dog sitter. We could enjoy our 5 nights away knowing that our puppy was in a responsible and loving care. Lauren was a great communicator who provided us with videos, pictures and updates. She was flexible with drop off and pickup times which we appreciated. I highly recommend Lauren.

Could not recommend nor say enough nice things about Caren. Our dog Bailey stayed with her — she went above and beyond to make us and Bailey comfortable prior to the stay, and during sent updates daily with photos and assured Baileys comfort. We also had a family emergency during the stay and Caren was so sweet and accommodating. Would certainly recommend to anyone, and will be staying again in the future. Thanks Caren!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
