“Had Benjamin check in on my 1 year old cat Ash while I was away for the holidays. He was great with communication and kept me up to date on when he’d be checking on him. Ash, who is usually a very shy little guy, quickly warmed up to him and even got some play time in. Would definitely recommend Benjamin and will keep him in mind for the future!”

“Avery was consistent and went above and beyond what I expected when I booked her services. I was thinking she would show up, feed me cats, and leave. Instead she spent a little time with them and gave them attention. It was definitely appreciated. I would absolutely book with her again.”

“Naomi cared for my kitty while I was out of town for a week. I left with confidence that he was in good, caring, and capable hands. Communication and attention to details was excellent. I highly recommend Naomi should you need a reliable and caring pet sitter.”

About: Growing up in rural Vermont, my household was equal parts animals and humans. From an early age, I learned the care and attention that goes into caring for pets from the time they are an energetic puppy to well into their silver years. I’m well equipped to handle potting training, medication feeding, and leash pulling. Fun fact! My first job was as a neighborhood dog walker and my catch phrase was “Lydia B walking” because my last name starts with a B! I'm currently a student and I'm most available during the mornings on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Depending on the distance and public transit accessibility, I could be more available! When it comes to caring for other people’s pets, I treat every pet like they’re my own. Which means making sure they are happy, healthy, and safe even after walk time is over. I understand and fully respect that your pet is part of your home and as such, I will follow every aspect of your (and their) routine. In your home, I will make sure doors, gates, and crates are secure, and I always leave things just the way I found them (or better!). I love getting to know each pet’s unique personality, and I’ll keep you in the loop with plenty of updates, pics, and funny moments along the way. You can relax knowing your furry friend is in good hands—and probably having a blast.
“Michelle was amazing!! She was so dedicated to giving my puppy exactly what he needed - he had a blast spending time with her and I felt so comforted knowing he was with her. She goes above and beyond what I even expected and is completely trustworthy and reliable. She’s my #1 choice on here for sure!”

About: I have had a dog for 40 years, in addition to other pets. I love all animals (more than most people 😊) and I love spending time with them. In addition to owning pets, I have also volunteered for dog rescues. I have cared for friends’ animals as if they were my own. Currently, I am not working for the summer and have a very flexible schedule. I can carve out chunks of time to spend with animals to give them attention, food, and exercise. I will continue caring for animals in the same way that owners do in their household, following all rules, routines, and expectations. I am an active person and happy to take a dog for a walk or a run.
“Thank you again so much for the wonderful care, communication and flexibility!! Great pix of Moose too - that puppy face doesn’t lie, and he is a happy boy in the yard with you! Many thanks”

“Hayley arrived at about the same time every day to feed Malone and play with him. She sent several pictures every day to give us peace of mind that he was doing ok. We would definitely book her again!”

“Josh was absolutely brilliant. Extremely professional, responsible and reliable. Great communicator with humans and animals alike (lots of fun photos while we were away). He looked after our two cats for 4 days and we couldn't have been happier. When we returned home our cats were calm, well-fed and happy - food dishes were washed and litter box area was tidy. Josh will be my first choice from now on when we have to leave our cats next time.”
“Hailey is truly amazing! Hailey cared for both our dog and cats like they were her own giving them tons of love, attention, and playtime. We got daily updates and adorable photos, which made us feel so at ease. Our pets were calm, happy, and clearly adored them. We’ve never felt more confident leaving our fur babies in someone’s care. I truly cannot say enough amazing things about Hailey! Highly recommend!!”

“We are always happy to have Felipe help us with our pup while we’re away. He’s great about getting him out for walks, like to go new routes for “new smells”, sends nice, detailed reports, and helped to water my flowers!”

About: "Hi there!” My name is Beth and I am a dedicated animal lover based right here in Colchester, VT. I've owned and cared for pets my entire life, and I know how stressful it can be to leave your furry family members behind. Whether it's taking energetic dogs on walks or providing calm, attentive companionship, I treat every pet as if they were my own. I am comfortable administering oral medications, following strict feeding schedules, and providing daily photo updates so you have complete peace of mind while you're away. I’m not afraid to sleep with your loved ones and give them as many cuddles as they need while you’re away. I work full time days , Monday through Friday, in Burlington, VT. Other than that, I’m available most evenings and weekends. Make it a great week ! I am looking to care for pets in your home only. Open to dog walking and other drop in services as well. Make it a great week !

Lilly did a wonderful job caring for our pet Binkley, an elderly free-roam house rabbit! He is usually shy around strangers, but her quiet, gentle, and patient approach had him at ease with her in just a couple of days. She prepared his special food carefully and he actually gained a little weight during our ten day absence. We highly recommend her!

Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Cozy Corner. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
