“Dina is one of the BEST!!! Overall great person and you could instantly tell that she has a genuine care for the animals that she is around and taking care of. As a pet owner herself, she gets how difficult it is to leave the fur babies and made us feel at ease leaving them in her care. Dina sent regular updates and pictures throughout the stay which we LOVED!!! She was extremely accommodating and went above and beyond! We would book Dina again in a heartbeat as long as her availability allows (I know she is popular and rightfully so)!!! She also took great care of our home while we were away and we returned to our home as clean or maybe even a little cleaner than when we left it. Dina is fantastic and we would definitely recommend her to anyone asking.”

“Sarah is hands down the best dog sitter! Leaving our pups behind for vacation is never easy, but Sarah made the whole experience so much less stressful with daily pictures and updates. It was such a relief knowing they were happy, safe, and getting so much love and attention. It was obvious they were comfortable and well cared for. Anyone looking for someone dependable, caring, and trustworthy couldn’t ask for a better sitter. I highly recommend Sarah and would absolutely book again!”

About: I’ve grown up on a farm, caring for various types of animals including dogs, cats, horses, hamsters, guinea pigs, and fish. I have years of experience working at animal shelters and clinics which makes me prepared for any type of situation. I’m skilled in providing loving, reliable care for all animals, big and small. I’m currently a full time college student so I will have classes throughout the day but am available in the mornings and the afternoons. Weekends are usually free unless noted otherwise. Ensuring a safe, calm, and comfortable environment is my priority. I’ll make sure your pup feels secure and happy while under my care, providing them with all the attention and safety they deserve!
About: I have always had at least one dog growing up. I started watching dogs (walking during the day or while babysitting) at 10 years old, and house-sitting by 15 (overnight at the dog's house). My childhood dog started receiving daily to twice-daily insulin injections by the time he turned 12, so I am comfortable giving injections. I also have had to give dogs pills orally. My current dog, Wesley, is particularly finnicky about treats, so if he has to take a pill I had to wrap it in wet food and hand feed to him - if your dog is the same way, I am used to "prince"/"princess" dogs :) I have watched my friends' dogs in Denver and it's been great! I am open to having them at my house (preferable for sitting during the week since I have work) or at your place. My job allows me to routinely work from home depending on my schedule and I am located in Littleton (near Chatfield and Ken Caryl areas). When I’m working from home I’ll be able to let the pup out throughout the day, as well as provide love and attention. If I am going into the office, I am usually away no longer than 9 hours. I’ll be sure to walk, play, or do whatever to make up for my time away! I’m pretty laid back with dogs and don’t get really upset if there’s an accident in the house, as I know they can’t help it. However, if there are certain words or commands you use for certain behaviors, please let me know so I can be consistent with your house. The same goes for walking - I usually am firm and keep the dogs on one side and close to me. If you have a certain side you like your dog to be on or words to use while walking, just let me know and I'll incorporate! I will attempt to make your dog's stay as home-like as possible by keeping their schedule, saying certain words/commands, and giving them lots of love and attention! I'm a very flexible and easy going sitter. If I am in town and you need someone last minute, I'm open to that. Have a question? Feel free to reach out and ask! I am currently taking a break in my career and just finished up my “adult gap year” traveling :) while I figure out what’s next, Rover is my main gig until further notice! I like to know what the typical schedule is for your pet so I can try and keep things as normal as possible in their routine. I also like to keep the pet parents updated with texts, especially pictures, to keep them comfortable and knowing their animals are getting love and attention.
“Morgan was AWESOME! She did everything perfectly, including spending quality time with my sweet kittens! They adore her. Morgan is responsible and friendly, and a true lover of all pets! Would hire again!”

“Melissa was so wonderful with our two dogs! She was super communicative and sent lots of pictures and updates while we were gone. She gave our pups lots of love and snuggles and you could tell she loved them like her own…even our super energetic, quirky heeler who was dealing with an injury. I’d absolutely recommend her to anyone!”
“Taylor went above and beyond! Sent regular updates and photos and handled our 4 big dogs like a champ! Will definitely use her again, and HIGHLY RECOMMEND.”

“Carly was a wonderful sitter for my two dogs. She provided updates and photos, and is someone I can trust in my home. My pups seemed to love her being around, will definitely use her again!”

About: I've been an animal lover my whole life, growing up with pets from an early age. In law school, I worked at the humane society — and honestly, it was the best part of my week. Most recently, I shared my home with three rescue beagles, so I know firsthand what it takes to care for dogs with big personalities. Anyone who's loved a beagle knows they require patience, attention, and a great sense of humor. After a career in law, I retired early — and one of the best parts of this chapter is finally having the time to give other people's pets the attention and care they deserve. I'm reliable, unhurried, and genuinely committed to making sure your pet feels safe and loved while you're away. I set my own schedule these days, and pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I'm not squeezing walks in between meetings or rushing through visits — I have the availability to show up consistently and give each animal real, unhurried attention. I provide care exclusively in your home, where your pet is most comfortable and at ease. Staying in their own environment means less stress — familiar surroundings, their own bed, their own routine. I follow whatever schedule and instructions you leave me, whether that's feeding times, medication, favorite toys, or walking routes. My goal is for your pet to feel like not much has changed, except there's someone new around who's really happy to be there.
About: I’ve been a pet lover since I was a little girl, I’ve grown up multiple family pets and have watched dogs for family and friends when they are out of town. I am also a proud owner of an extremely playful miniature Bernedoodle. I love getting to meet and spend time with new furry friends and I can’t wait to meet yours! I am currently working a part time job and caring for my own snuggle buddy, Therefore I will have flexible availability throughout the weekdays and the weekends. Holidays included. I have one friendly dog that would love to keep your fur baby company if wanted. As well as transportation and any needed doggy supplies!
“Serena was awesome!! I always get a little nervous leaving my pup and she provided great service, communication, and most importantly care for my little one. Will absolute use her again!! Thank you so much!”

“Hannah was so great with Daisy! She followed all of the instructions we left and made sure to bond and make Daisy feel comfortable while my husband and I were gone all week on vacation. She provided us daily updates with pictures and was very communicative, which made it so much easier to be away from Daisy for a whole week. I would definitely recommend Hannah to anyone needing a gentle and attentive dog sitter!”

“I booked with Angelee very last minute due to another sitter cancelling and Angelee was absolutely amazing. She was so understanding and willing to help. She was communicative, sent photos, and took great care of our pets. I highly recommend booking with Angelee!”
“She does a great job, our pets are always well taken care of, and our home is always in order when we get home. This is the second time she has stayed at our home to watch our pets! Highly recommend her!”

“Megan was a wonderful dog sitter who took excellent care of our 3 pups while we were traveling. Megan was very reliable and trustworthy and she communicated with me throughout the day, sending pictures and text updates. Highly recommend Megan if you’re looking for someone who will love your pups just as much as you do.”

“I highly recommend Casey to care for your fur babies! We traveled out of town and she went over and beyond caring for our 16 year old Sadie. Casey is super clean and very polite. Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Columbus walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Columbus maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Columbus choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
