About: I am a Licensed Veterinary Technician, worked with small animals and now do mostly large animals. I have grown up with dogs my entire life. I love your pets and would love to help !! I currently work for Lexington Equine Medical and it is becoming our off season, so I am starting to free up in the afternoons! I can come whenever I am off and communicate that with you and do whatever is needed for you and your pet ! I’ve grown up with dogs my entire life , and that really persuaded me to be the Licensed Vet tech I am today. I love being around animals and I care deeply for them no matter to what extent ! I also can’t have a dog where i am living now so kind of get the best of both worlds getting to bond with your pet :)
“Katherine was communicative while I was away, and I came back to a very happy cat! I felt completely at ease knowing she was taking care of Chevy.”

About: I have had animals in the house my entire life. I have always had at least four growing up to sometimes six ranging from cats, dogs and guinea pigs. I currently have a cat of my own here at college who i adore. I am a college student at ETSU. This summer I am spending it in Kentucky where I do work part-time. Schedule does vary but I can make sure your animal is fit in and taken care of properly. I have a cat who has her own litter box, fun little toys, food that she loves, and always my company. With other people’s animals I consider myself to be very caring and loving towards them.
About: I have interned at a vet clinic my senior year of high school, worked at an animal shelter, and have owned dogs since I was 8. I’m currently going to school at UK, but I have a gab in my mornings from around 11-2 most days that I am available and then of course after classes! I would feed, water, and provide walks and also some play time for dogs, then with cats I would feed, water, and I would also play with whatever toys they have.
“Tanya was very attentive to our pups! She played with them & gave them their dinner as planned. She took the time to give them special attention since we were gone all day! She was very punctual & sent us photos as well! We will definitely be using her again. Thank you for taking such good care of our fur babies!”

“Routine is very important to cats. We had never traveled overnight before since adopting our cats, and were nervous about leaving our cats’ care to a stranger; but Maranda came on time, cared for them, cleaned their litter, and tried to put them at ease. She communicated diligently and even sent pics of the first visit. Retrieving the key was also simple and punctual. Now we feel confident traveling more in the future knowing there’s someone we can trust.”

“Kaylee was wonderful to work with! On time and quick to tell me if she wouldn’t be. Professional in her communication and took her time to get to know my dog. She walked my dog and then stayed with her the full 30 minutes. Your pet will love her!”

“Stephanie is absolutely amazing! She is so wonderful with my dogs and I know they’re just so excited to see her. She communicates well and gives me updates and pictures as needed. Thank you so much, Stephanie! I will definitely continue to use her to check in on my babies.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Columbus. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
