I had the pleasure of doing a meet & greet with Whitney before I went on my work trip. I decided to do drop-ins and I have to say, Whitney exceeded my expectations and was very personable and professional. I missed my puppy all week and haven’t left him for more than 3 days, but I knew he was in good hands for each drop-in. I’d definitely recommend Whitney, hands down.

About: Animals have always been a big part of my life. I’ve cared for dogs, cats, horses, chickens, and plenty of other furry, feathered, and even scaly friends, for over 25 years, including my own pets as well as those of friends and family. I understand that every pet has a different personality. I believe every pet deserves to be met where they are, and I take the time to earn their trust. Whether your pet loves to play, prefers quiet companionship, or needs a little extra patience, I’ll make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for while you’re away. I’ll treat your pets with the same love and attention I give my own. As a self employed hairstylist, my schedule is flexible and gives me time throughout the day for pet visits and walks. I’m available mornings, afternoons, evenings, when my schedule allows, and I always do my best to accommodate your pet’s routine whenever possible. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I take the time to learn their routine, respect your home, and provide updates with photos so you can relax while you’re away. I always double check doors, gates, leashes, and feeding instructions, and I’ll care for your pet with the same attention and patience I give my own. I’m comfortable caring for pets with different personalities and always let them set the pace when building trust.

About: I've been caring for cats for over seven years and currently have two cats of my own. I understand that every cat has a unique personality and routine, and I enjoy taking the time to help them feel comfortable while their owners are away. My experience includes feeding, refreshing water, scooping litter boxes, administering basic care, playtime, and providing lots of affection (if your cat wants it!). I've also cared for friends' cats and know how important it is to keep owners updated with photos and messages for peace of mind. Whether your cat is playful, shy, or prefers their own space, I'll make sure they receive patient, attentive care. I currently have open availability from June 29 through July 5 perfect for some summertime pet sitting. Outside of that I am available in the evenings and early morning. I believe every pet is happiest when their normal routine is maintained, so I take the time to learn each cat's individual needs and personality. During visits, I'll make sure they have fresh food and water and plenty of attention based on their comfort level. Some cats love to play and cuddle, while others prefer a quiet companion, and I'm happy to respect their boundaries. I'll also keep your home tidy, bring in packages or mail if requested, and send photo updates so you can relax knowing your cat is in good hands.

About: I’ve always been happiest around animals. Between my background in Veterinary Technology, experience in dog grooming, volunteering at my local animal shelter, and having pets my whole life, I’ve had the opportunity to work with all kinds of personalities. I love getting to know each pet and making sure they feel comfortable, cared for, and understood. Animals have always been a big part of my life. Pet care naturally fits into my routine through my experience caring for my own pets, volunteering at an animal shelter, and my animal care background. I enjoy providing reliable attention, companionship, and care for pets. I focus on making each pet feel comfortable by following their normal routine and paying attention to their individual personality and needs. I have experience with a variety of animals through my personal pets, shelter volunteering, grooming training, and animal care education. About: I have a lifetime of experience caring for a variety of animals, including dogs, cats, reptiles, fish, and chickens. While I'm comfortable with animals of all sizes, I'm most experienced with large dogs, and have no problem managing pups who weigh well over a hundred pounds. I also have experience training puppies, and am currently learning the basics of canine massage. Around me, your fur baby will always be happy, well-loved, and protected! I'm currently unemployed outside of pet-sitting and dog walking, so my schedule is generally pretty open. Most of my availability is in the morning and early afternoon, but I'm quite flexible as it relates to scheduling. Please let me know if you require my services outside of my typical hours, and I'll be happy to try and accommodate you! When taking clients on walks, I'm careful to ensure their safety and comfort. I often bring booties with me to protect their feet on hot days, and make sure I'm stocked up on water and pet parent-compliant treats before embarking on walks. While walking, I let dogs sniff around as much as they like, and provide a gentle guiding hand and a vigilant eye to protect them from harm. Before I leave, I check to make sure all entrances are locked in order to maintain the safety of my clients and their home.

Daniel was great! He was very accommodating to my pups needs and went the extra mile for her and I. When my dog refused to go out in wet grass, he made a third trip back to ensure she was comfortable and accident-free overnight. I really appreciated his extra care and highly recommend him!!

Briony was amazing with Cooper and he really enjoyed his time with her! It was my first time leaving him with a new person. She was very patient, communicative, supportive while I was away. She really went out of her way to make sure I was comfortable with the care she provided. Cooper had several hot spots that were in different phases of healing. She was very attentive to his care and made sure he got what he needed during every visit. Furthermore, after a power outage, my fridge had a leak. She communicated that to me asap and did what she could to ensure there was no additional damage. 10/10 would definitely recommend!!!

Madison was an amazing sitter and I would absolutely hire her again to watch my dog. She was very understanding and patient when watching him. He’s got a few little weird traits but she was able to adapt to his needs to make sure he was comfortable while I was away. I received daily updates with pictures and I could tell he was being well taken care of and enjoyed his visits with her.

Sean was our first experience hiring someone to look after our girls. He was extremely responsive, kept us updated, and spent time with our babies. One of them consistently had accidents while we were gone but Sean took care of it every single day no problem. He made sure to spend some time with them in the yard and gave them some brushing due to it being shedding season! Since he lives close to us, he would pop by in to check on them in the afternoon. One of our babies started showing some scary symptoms our last night of vacation and Sean cared as if it was one of his own babies. Sean was fantastic and we highly recommend hiring him!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in College Park choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.

To find sitters in College Park with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.

  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
