“Latasha was wonderful! She took excellent care of my baby and really went above and beyond. She was so great with my girl and it was so reassuring to leave my dog in her care. Book her now, you won't regret it.”

“Ross has done an amazing job taking care of my pup. He has been very communicative which I really appreciated. It helped me to have a good trip without worrying about my pup. Thx Ross for taking care of Benny.”

“Max was a wonderful pet sitter for my pup!! She didn’t even seem that excited that I was home after a week, which let me know she’d been happy and well cared for. Max also provided just the right level of contact - not too little, not too much - while I was away. Highly recommend!”

“Jennifer was a fun, attentive, affectionate and responsible caregiver for my 7 month old kitten. She played with her a lot, fed her and cleaned out her litter regularly, and sent me lots of pictures and messages updating me on my kitten’s days. She also went above and beyond on cleaning my house and laundering the linens before I got home. Totally unnecessary, but very much appreciated. I would highly recommend her services.”

“Tori did a great job watching my cat Sherman! Sent lots of pictures and videos, followed directions, and left the house clean! She also communicated well throughout the stay.”

“Nancy took such great care of Pepper! She kept us updated the whole time which was great. She took great care of our home while we were gone and left everything the same as when she arrived. Nancy was so friendly and a great house sitter😊”

“Cara is amazing and Hazel absolutely loved her! Communication was perfect and lov3d the pictures, thank you! We will definitely be requesting Cara again! Enthusiastically recommend!”

“This was our second time having Natalee dog sit for us. She did an incredible job watching our two dogs at our house while we were out of town for two weeks. She sent regular photos and updates. She treats our dogs like they are her own and it gives us immense peace of mind to have someone so thoughtful take care of them. Can't recommend Natalee enough!!!”

“We loved having Alicia care for our pups while we were out of town. She was kind and professional, and took extra care with our pup who was more anxious. She gave great recaps of their day and it really helped to know she was taking such good care of our pups. We will definitely be recommending her to friends if they need a pet sitter.”

“Halle is fantastic!! She is a great communicator, professional, and prompt. I felt so comfortable leaving my pup in her care. We will continue to book her for our pups when she is available!! Highly recommend!”

“Alex and Chrissy did a great job watching Monkey and Winston while I was away. Everything was exactly how I left it, and both cats seemed really happy and relaxed when I got home. I also got lots of pictures and updates while I was gone, which made it much easier to relax and enjoy my trip. It was such a nice experience, and I would absolutely book with them again.”

About: I have taken care of dogs and cats since I was 11! I would watch my neighbors cats and dogs when they were away. Additionally I have two years experience working at a DoggyDaycare and Aquatic Center! I am going into my first year of Law School so will have class during the week! However can definitely make time for morning or evening walks! Having worked at an official daycare for two years I understand the importance of keeping an eye on dogs to make sure no mischief occurs and that they are safe! They won’t go anywhere outside off leash and I can guarantee I won’t have anything not dog or cat friendly out in my apartment

“Marsha is complete magic! One of our dogs wasn’t eating and having accidents before we left to go out of town for a long weekend. By the time we got home Taco was consistently eating his meals and had NO accidents while we were away. Marsha is a super communicator and sent loads of photos. We could see how happy our dogs were with her there. We already re-booked with her for our next trip! Absolutely fantastic dog / house sitter!”

“Gabrielle was just the right amount of communicative! She took great care of our dog while we were away and the house looked great. Would definitely book again.”

“Evelyn is a super responsible home and pet sitter, our Golden girl Pennie just adores her! We are always able to enjoy our trip knowing our home and Golden girl is in very good hands <3”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Clayton
I couldn’t have asked for a better cat sitter! Jordan was incredibly accommodating, even when I miscommunicated a few things, and was always kind and understanding. What impressed me most was the time and patience she took to earn the trust of both of my cats. One of my cats is very shy and takes a while to warm up to people, while my other cat can be… a little mean! 😅 She took the time to get to know them both and made sure they were comfortable and cared for in a way that worked for each of them. She also sent plenty of photos and updates, which made me feel so much more relaxed about being away from my cats. It was such a relief knowing they were in good hands. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and patient cat sitter. I will definitely be rebooking with her in the future!

Megan was amazing with our two dachshunds. I highly recommend her for any housesitting needs. It was amazing to be able to know our dogs were happy and safe while we were gone. And even when our AC wasn’t working well in the 101 heat wave, she braved the heat and helped keep our dogs safe and cool. Thank you, Megan!

Mr. Man (my cat) was quite taken with Latasha. He enjoyed snuggling and hanging out with her, and I was very happy that at the end of our trip he was in good mental and physical health. I hired Latasha to day sit with Mr. Man as he recently got a bad cancer diagnosis, and I was afraid he might not be in good enough health for us to travel. I was especially thankful that he didn't lose weight, as anorexia is a side effect of his cancer.

It was our first time using Rover and we were a bit nervous. Ayana took care of our Furbaby and house like it was her own. Our dog has anxiety and she was able to spend lots of time with her and cuddle her to pieces. We are so grateful to Ayana because we were able to relax and enjoy our time away with family knowing our baby was taken care of. We definitely plan to book Ayana in the future!! Thank you Ayana!!

Julia stayed with my pup Fiona for 3 nights and was wonderful! Fiona took to her immediately, zooming around the when Julia came over for the meet and greet (an activity usually reserved for special friends and family). Julia was professional, responsive, and took care to leave my place tidy. Will definitely be booking again. Thank you Julia!

I feel fortunate to have found Anya on Rover to dog sit my beloved beagle for a week while I was on vacation. She did a great job, and I appreciated her sending me updates during the week on how my dog was doing. If you’re looking for a dog sitter, I highly recommend Anya!

Denita was the BEST dog sitter I've ever had! She cared for my dog so well, was communicative, and kept to her schedule (which has some flexibility, but I've had sitters in the past who have adjusted meals/being let out/etc by hours or been gone during important times, and it really throws a dog off). My puppy was very happy and content when I got home. I never had to worry that she wasn't being taken care of. She also left the house extremely clean.

Maya was amazing! This was my first time using Rover, and she was so friendly, helpful, and caring. She took such great and compassionate care of my baby Rex. I never had to worry about him while I was away because after our initial meet and greet, I knew he was in great hands. She kept me updated and made the whole experience so easy and stress free. I’ll definitely be using Maya as my pet sitter throughout my stay in Missouri. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, caring, and dependable to watch their fur baby! ❤️

I came home to a happy dog and a clean house, this was great. Max took good care of my senior dog while we were away and also tended to a couple domestic surprises that occurred while we were gone, all with common sense and grace. Would definitely do this again.
Emma did a fantastic job!!!!! My doggo was so relaxed with her he just went about his life as if I were there. The updates were fantastic and I know I made a great choice with Emma!!! I don't travel much but when I do I am definitely 💯 % asking her again!!!! Thank you so much.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Clayton walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Clayton maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Clayton choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
