“Maria has been great for me and my dogs. She immediately won them over during our meet and greet. She send regular updates and photos which are much appreciated while I’m gone. I can also tell she truly cares by the questions she asks regarding the dogs needs.”

About: I’ve dog sat for family members many times before, and live with a dog and cat, both of which I am primary caretaker for. I commonly walk my dog around the neighborhood and have walked other family members’ dogs as well. I also spent 4 years working at a zoo, and interacted with wild and dangerous animals on a daily basis. This work has afforded me skills like animal care and awareness of an animals comfort with me in their space. I do not currently have a job outside of Rover, so I’m free to walk dogs basically whenever! I prefer to walk dogs in the morning or afternoon, but regardless I am available at any time of day, weekdays and weekends. I care for pets in my home all the time, I have both a dog and a cat, so I am often working to ensure the safety of my home for both of them. My house is cat and dog proofed and I am almost constantly monitoring my own pets for health and safety issues.

“Sam B is a delight to work with. She was totally at ease with my pups and they took to her immediately. She communicated with me every step of the way and sent me a few pictures to boot. I can comfortably recommend Sam for all your pet care needs. Phil K”

“Elizabeth is amazing - she really has a way with dogs! She brings out the best in my dog and he absolutely adores and respects her. Not to mention she's reliable and professional.”

“Allison was so great with walking our dog Fred, who is pretty reactive on the leash and can be a handful. She gave him a nice long walk each day and was flexible when our schedule was changing last minute. We will definitely hire Allison again!”

About: NOTE: BASED OUT OF BURLINGTON, VT FOR THE COLLEGE SEASON I’ve owned and cared for dogs, cats, and everything in-between for as long as I can remember. From pit-bulls to terriers, handicapped chickens to one eyed kittens and animals with at least 8 legs, i’ve seen it all. Apart from caring for my own dogs, cats, and other pets over the years, I did freelance petsitting and dog walking in and around my neighborhood for around seven years, ranging from dog walks while the owner was at work, to late night cat feedings and prescription medication administration, to trying to give a rabbit a bath. I have a high level of experience caring for both puppies/kittens and elderly dogs and cats, having worked to foster puppies and kittens with my local ASPCA for nearly a decade as well as helped raise and train one of my family dogs, and care for my elderly, disabled dog in her later years. I also have background training with the ASPCA regarding animal safety (specifically reactive or defensive dogs) and basic dog and cat body language, crucial aspects of keeping everyone involved healthy and happy! I’m currently a college student home for the summer- my schedule is very open and very flexible, depending on the individual needs of the animal. I can match whatever level of energy your pet needs within the home- whether it be constant cuddles and attention, hours of playtime, or just an omniscient hand filling the food bowl and grabbing the leash! I’m comfortable administering oral or topical medications, able to control and crate dogs if the need arises, and (i’d like to think) i’ve learned some pretty good strategies to stop unwanted barking late at night over the years. I value the mental and physical comfort of the animal i’m caring for first and foremost, whether that means hands on attention or a more quiet, calm approach to time spent with your pet. I’m willing to care for and spend time with shy or reactive dogs as long as they’re within my size range. Having owned both a very senile, timid dog and a very reactive, defensive dog, it’s important to me that they receive the amount of care and attention in the home they deserve :)

About: I have taken care of dogs and other animals since childhood, including my own childhood dog of 15 years and my current dog of the past 3 years. My current dog is extremely friendly to all animals and is happy to have a playmate or couch companion around. I can provide a safe and interactive environment for your animal while you are away, as well as ensure that I adhere to any normal routines that you have already set. If your animal has any unique needs, I would be happy to support with medication management or training while you are away. With a hybrid work from home schedule, I have the flexibility to make sure your pet is enjoying the best life while you are away! I have a fenced in backyard in a very animal friendly neighborhood that allow for wonderful and safe walks. My house is animal friendly with my own medium sized dog.

About: I have had dogs for 40+ years and cats for 20+ years. I love all animals all shapes and sizes. I volunteer at SPCA sometimes. I work from home most of the time. I can do walks morning, afternoon, and night. Or I can do drop ins at scheduled times. I have a fenced in back yard and live in a very walkable neighborhood. If boarding with me, your dog must get along with my dog and cat.

About: Growing up, my neighbors knew they could count on me to take great care of their dogs and cats while they were away. I am a major animal lover and walker, so walking dogs for work is a dream come true! My main job is teaching English in Spain, but while I'm home for the summer, I would love to take care of your pet :) My schedule is wide open - this is my summer break as a teacher! I am able to make just about any day and time work, with a handful of exceptions. I will adapt to your pet's needs and treat them like royalty! You can count on me to feed, walk, and play with your dog, and if they need any more specific care, don't hesitate to ask!

About: I’m a cat and a dog person - and I have a special connection with both. Cats that are aloof with most people will seek me out for attention. Whenever I’m out for a walk in my neighborhood dogs will strain at their leash until stop to pet them. ! I’ve had both cats and dogs since I was a kid and have raised them from kittens and puppies to senior cats and dogs. Over the years, I’ve watched family and friends dogs and cats while they are away for the day or for a longer vacation. I recently retired as a federal government employee. In this new chapter, I’m embracing creative pursuits and travel. When I’m not traveling I have a lot of time and flexibility in my schedule - both weekdays and weekends. At this time I would care for pets in my client’s home since I have a senior cat who very much enjoys being an only child. I know how much you love your pet and that they are priceless to you. Keeping them safe, happy and healthy is your priority and mine as well.

“Eva’s dad always goes above and beyond to make sure our pup is taken care of! This time she had had an accident in the living room and he even cleaned it up. We couldn’t recommend them more!”

“Alyssa started taking care of animals at a very young age. They began with raising praying mantises, then ferrets and during high school worked at the zoo as part of their duties. There they cared for a variety of animals, preparing their food and medication and ensuring they received the proper enrichment. Now at home the same care and attention to detail is being used to help care for our Bichon/ Shih tzu, Cleopatra. Alyssa takes her on regular walks, feeds and combs/brushes her to keep the knots away. Alyssa is very reliable and trustworthy and Cleo reminds us of it daily.”
