“MacKenzie was fantastic! We had a family member cancel with short notice for watching out 2 dogs and 3 cats for a week while we were going on vacation. I quickly hopped on Rover to see who was near us, and decided to message MacKenzie based on other reviews that had been left. She was quickly able to come over and meet our gang to make sure it would be a fit. After that initial meeting, my husband and I both felt very comfortable and confident with her coming to stay and take care of things while we were gone. The day we were supposed to leave, we ran into some issues but MacKenzie was flexible and fast to communicate. She was very punctual and sent brief updates/questions throughout the week (she has our preference on communication and we had told her we didn't need regular check ins or updates). When we got home, we could tell our dogs and cats had missed us, but it was also clear that they had been well taken care of. About: There has never not been a dog in my house. I've grown up around them and feel very comfortable with them! Within the last few years I have logged 70+ volunteer hours at SCRAPS training and exercising dogs. I achieved the highest level of training and thoroughly enjoy my time working with them. I have handled dogs with all kinds of behavioral issues from having a high prey drive to disliking people. Additionally I've worked with my own dog and she earned her CGC, participated in numerous rally classes, and began agility. When she became a senior dog I gave her a comfortable life until the end. I am passionate about making their lives better for as long as we have them. I also have experience taking care of rabbits, goats, and horses. I'm a full-time student on summer break so I have full availability currently. Evenings will have less availability as I will be doing some summer conditioning for my sport but can be flexible with the client's needs. In my own home we keep our dogs separate with baby gates and the use of leashes. Keeping them safe is a priority for us so we do all we can to help make them comfortable while maintaining safety. Depending on what the client is comfortable with I will use whatever measures they want to keep their family safe.

About: I’ve had dogs around me my whole life; from active labs to precocious cocker spaniels to mutts with needs, I’m happy to provide the care your pets need while you’re away. I’m flexible with all play styles and feeding habits, all while staying firm against begging for food we can’t have and keeping a close eye on problem behaviors such as digging or pillow ripping. I love all kinds of dogs, from hyperactive to couch potatoes, malamutes to chihuahuas, puppies to senior dogs. I’ll be sure to keep your fluffy friends entertained and well kept while you’re away! As for walking, I always strive to make sure your four legged friend has their share of exercise and fresh air. My time is currently open to weekdays from 6 am to 11 pm. I’m happy to check on your pets multiple times a day to keep up with their schedules, and am happy to follow plans as needed. I do my best to follow any instructions provided for your pet. I’m happy to play, take pets outside into yards or for walks in the neighborhood to get their energy out, feed them on their schedules, and visit multiple times a day to keep your pet happy and entertained. I have a preference for crate trained dogs, but for those more well-behaved, I have no qualms. As for cats, I’m happy to keep quiet and leave them to their own pace, letting myself be available to them while not invading their space.
About: I love animals! I'm comfortable with dogs and cats, birds, and creepy crawlies. I like to run and would love to make a running buddy! I'm available before and after work for check ins and one day a week for regular walks or runs on a long term basis. I can also do house sitting. She took incredible care of our dog and kept us updated with very detailed check-ins throughout the entire stay — we always knew exactly how he was doing, which made being away so much easier. She also went above and beyond when our boy had some stomach trouble, picking up plain chicken to help settle his tummy without us even having to ask. Communication was a breeze from start to finish.
