Your pets regular routine is of the utmost importance, we like to stick to that as closely as possible. So if a walk in the morning is the most important, that is what your dog will receive. Also things like special diet and medication’s are attended to very closely.

A good review of the things your dog enjoys and maybe some things that frighten them will be helpful to your dogs time away from you. We like to know if they are good with other dogs or cats or children. How they behave on a leash, specific commands you may be working on or things that you are working with around the house, if they are not supposed to be on the couch, new commands. Any specifics to your dog that you think may be helpful, ready to make a warm comfortable Environment for your dog while you’re away so they are happy and content.
A typical day
Dogs that have had affection & exercise are happy dogs. So whatever your dogs favorite games are, there will be plenty of that, as well as praise, lots of snuggles, & telling them they are a good dog! Because that actually releases endorphins-the happy hormones. The day would start off with feeding and any special medication requirements, making sure the dog bowls are clean, and that the environment is safe, secure & all is well. Extra special need checks and maybe just some more behind the ear scratches and belly rubs & if they are older, maybe a short walk or high energy then maybe a visit to their favorite park or a walk on the river. Next A good game of fetch and always reviewing & rewarding basic commands. Definitely a tour of the yard to make sure all refuse has been picked up. So whatever makes your dogs day special & they are used to will be the order of the day. We love learning about each new animals routine and what they like and what they don’t like. Looking forward to see all the nuances about your pup. We’ll end the day with some dinner and another walk and some more snuggles and tail wags for a barktakular day!

In the many years of experience boarding cats, dogs & horses either at our own home or veterinary facilities, have witnessed they thrive best in their own home environment. Often times animals will go off their fed or be somewhat depressed in new or different surroundings while owners are away. Your pets well being while you are absent is a priority therefore your home environment I believe is best. Being able to walk in the neighborhood they are use to is nice or if your pet likes other outings to the dog park or mountain trail that’s good as well. Keeping the pets normal routine as close to what they are use to is a key to their comfort in your absence.
