“Amanda was AMAZING! She really helped me out on short notice when I was in a bind and she was so patient and understanding with my dog (and my over-explaining of my dogs needs/quirks). About: I’ve been surrounded by pets my entire life and have spent the last 7 years providing care for dogs and cats through referrals from friends, family, and neighbors. What sets me apart is the personal attention I give each pet. I treat them like part of my own family. I take the time to understand their routines, personalities, and unique needs to ensure they feel safe, loved, and at ease while you’re away. Whether it’s a playful pup, a shy cat, or a senior pet needing a little extra attention. Your pet’s comfort and happiness are always my top priorities. My remote job allows me the flexibility to build my schedule around the needs of the pets I care for, whether that means early morning walks, midday playtime, or evening check-ins. Whether I’m caring for pets in my own home or in a client’s home, I always strive to create a calm, comfortable, and safe environment. I follow each pet’s routine closely, feeding schedules, potty breaks, walks, playtime, and any special instructions, this way they feel secure and cared for even when their humans are away.

“We recently had David dog sit for us, and he did a fantastic job! He came over the night before to meet our dogs and get familiar with their routine, which we really appreciated. It gave us peace of mind knowing he was thoughtful and prepared. While we were away, our flight ended up being delayed by almost five hours, and David stayed longer without hesitation to make sure our dogs were well taken care of. That kind of reliability and flexibility is rare and so appreciated. When we got home, it was clear the dogs were happy, calm, and well looked after. We’re very grateful for David’s care and would absolutely recommend him to anyone looking for a responsible and kind dog sitter!”

About: Note: We are currently training our new dog so best services to book are drop-in visits, walks, or sitting at your home. However, some exceptions may be possible for care at our home, feel free to message me to explore, thank you! 👋 Spoil your well-behaved pup in a lap of luxury with a HUGE 1-acre fenced yard that they can roam free in anytime they’d like. Conveniently located just off Route 17, we are a mature, responsible, and drama-free dog auntie and uncle who are both home full time — me as the primary caretaker, and my partner as a backup (if you’d like). It helps make coverage more reliable, and play time feel a lot more like family time for your pup (except no kids). We are not the types to be addicted to our phones because we believe in being present when spending time with fur friends. We also typically don’t take in too many so that we can provide more attention, and be available when you need us. It’s quality over quantity for us! :) Before requesting a stay, please read my “About” section to see if we are a good fit for each other! Ps. I don’t charge if you are late to pickup by a few hours, so don’t worry about that. New Rover Customers: Use my referral link to get $20 off your first service https://www.rover.com/sit/melindac23 I do sometimes get requests to watch pups in NYC but my spouse and I are both currently home in NJ full-time. I believe in mutual respect, gentle care, and transparency, and would treat your pup the same way I would want mine to be cared for. My friends’ furbabies affectionately call me “auntie” :) I understand how being away from your loved one can cause stress or anxiety (unfortunately, we had a bad experience with a sitter once, so I personally relate to this feeling all too well). I can provide multiple updates a day (or less) if you’d like — photos, videos, and even video calls — whatever will help you feel comforted that they are safe and well cared for. We have a unique property, a huge, park-like fully-fenced yard on a cul-de-sac street (but the fence is only 4 ft high, please confirm that your dog cannot jump it). I have a medium size crate if your pups like them. Multiple dog beds throughout the house and no more than 5 stairs anywhere. I’m equipped to take in two dogs at a time, but I don’t have to if you prefer your pup to have a solo stay.

About: I have extensive experience caring for dogs. I enjoy taking them on walks, engaged with them in play, and provided attentive, compassionate care. If you’re looking for someone to care for your dog, you’ve found the place. I’m a care manager during the day with a relatively flexible schedule. I work in Montebello and live in suffern, NY. I like to pet sit in my free time. I provide food, water and a comfortable place for your fur-babies to sleep. I crate my dog and will crate upon request. I can administer medications as needed as well.

“Eric was wonderful. I have an old ragdoll cat; he took great care of her - feeding, medication, grooming, cleaning her myriad litter boxes - for the two weeks I was gone. It gave me peace of mind to have him in the house. I am so glad I found him - I will definitely use his services next time I travel.”

About: Since the age of 7 years old I have always had a dog around my families home. Along with my family pet, I have experience taking care of dogs that range in age and size. I have experience with 6 month old puppies that need a lot of attention through 14 year old dogs that need medication given to them. Over the years, I have taken care of pets for my friends and family ranging from a day, a weekend, to a whole week. Having a dog of my own, I understand the difficulties of finding the right sitter as well as the importance of finding the right one. I am currently a Graduate student at the University of Rhode Island. For the summer, I am taking online asynchronous classes. Since my classes are asynchronous I am able to work my school schedule around my pet sitting schedule. With that being said, I still need a couple hours each day to devote to my school work. When it comes to someone else's home, I follow all the directions that are given to me. I am very versatile depending on the needs of the pet and owner. When it comes to walks, I always walk dogs with their leash and preferably a harness for long walks (but if they don't have one that is okay as well). If I bring the dog to my own home, I have a deck with a gate and a big backyard for playing.

About: For the past two years, I’ve been the trusted go-to sitter for my friend’s dog while they travel frequently. My flexible schedule allows me to be readily available when needed, ensuring pets receive consistent care and attention. I treat every dog as if they were my own—always refreshing their water, making sure they have enough food, and spending quality time playing with them. Whether it’s a quick visit or an extended stay, I prioritize their happiness and well-being! As a self-employed professional with a super flexible schedule, I can easily plan my day around pet care. Whether it’s a quick drop-in visit or a longer stay, I have the flexibility to adjust my routine and ensure pets get the attention they need. Their well-being is always a priority, and I’m able to accommodate last-minute requests or extended stays when needed! When caring for pets in a client’s home, I make sure to follow their usual routine to keep them comfortable and stress-free. I always refresh their water, ensure they have enough food, take them for walks or playtime, and provide plenty of attention so they feel at ease while their owner is away. I understand that every pet has unique needs, and I’m committed to making sure they’re happy, safe, and well cared for in their own familiar environment.

“Kaitlynn was wonderful! She was incredibly responsive from the start, came to meet our pets and learn their routine, and communicated throughout the weekend which eased our nerves about leaving our pets. I would highly recommend her!”

About: I've been around all sorts of animals since I was a child, firstly with pet birds of my own, then volunteering at a farm for a number of years. Most recently, my experience as a veterinary assistant and being in school for a veterinary technician degree also gives me much knowledge in care for all sorts of animals, especially dogs and cats! I'm currently working at a veterinary hospital and have a few days where I can take time to fit pets that need attention into my schedule. Since my schedule changes regularly, my availability may change weekly, but usually does not impede on any pet that needs my attention. I have a variety of cages, leashes, harnesses, and toys for all size dogs if it is not available to the owner. Another benefit I can offer is the fact that since I also work at an animal hospital, if in the event where a pet needs attention while their owner’s are away, I have the access and contacts to help with any needs of that pet as soon as possible, with the permission of the owners.

About: I have grown up around animals my whole life! In New Mexico we had 5 dogs and 2 cats they were my responsibility to keep fed, happy, healthy! I have years of experience with dogs of all shapes and sizes and am comfortable around even the biggest and the friendliest dogs. Can’t wait to meet yours! I am currently working from home but have pretty flexible time constraints. Which means I have plenty of time to play with furry buddies! I often will take walks to nearby local parks or trails, and I am early riser so there is allot of flexibility in my schedule. We have a large backyard that with a fenced up play pen and have had several dogs in the house so plenty of left over toys and stuff to chew on. I have sat dogs with crates but unfortunately do not have one on the property.

“Carly did an amazing job watching our 3 senior dogs (13,14 and 15). We came into town for a wedding and she really made an extra effort to ease their anxiety of being in a new place and without their parents. She did a meet and greet with us the day prior so the dogs could meet her. Carly also texted us with updates throughout the evening so we never had to worry.”

About: I have experience working in an animal care setting. I’ve worked in multiple animal hospitals as a Veterinary Assistant/Technician and/or Kennel/Boarding Attendant. I am planning on returning back to school to become a Veterinary Technician due to my love for caring for animals. I have dog and cat sat for family, friends, and neighbors on multiple occasions. Your pets will be in good hands under my care! I promise to love your pets like my own pets! The best part about working in an animal hospital with a boarding facility is I can bring my dogs and cats to work with me! They will have a fun and playful experience with other dogs while being properly supervised. I have a mini golden doodle. He is very well behaved. I will apply all the instructions my clients gave me to make sure their pet is happy and comfortable.
