“Natalie was amazing with our cat!! She followed the directions perfectly, was a great communicator, and went above and beyond with the check in notes and pictures. We will definitely use her again!”

“Margaret was absolutely wonderful!! She was a huge help when our sitter cancelled last minute, and was very accommodating about using multiple modes of communication while we were travelling. She took the time to coax our pup to eat (which she often refuses to do while we're away), and sent very detailed reports with lots of pictures. I felt very comfortable with her coming in and out of our house to take care of our pup while we were away. We would absolutely call on Margaret again in the future!”

“Krissy did a fantastic job with our sweet Grayson. She was very attentive, sent us pics each day and even brought up a concern about Grayson not using the litter box. I would highly recommend her to anyone with pets, especially cats as I am biased in that way. We will use her again and again and again.”

“Lily was fantastic with our kitties while we were out of town. She sent lots of photos, played with them, stayed for a nice long visit, and their food / water / litter was in perfect order when we got home. I really enjoy working with Lily and definitely hope to use her services in the future. Thanks again for taking such good care of our cats!”

“Taylor was great with our dog! Our dog is 90 pounds, a puller, and does not do well with other dogs. I always get nervous allowing other people walk her. Taylor did great with her! I loved all the pictures she sent. The pictures and the notes reassured me that our dog was doing well! I will definitely book with Taylor again!”

I have experience house-sitting, so taking care of your pets in your home should be nothing new for me! Will always give a few extra pets before I leave :)
“We have been looking high and low for someone to watch our dogs after bad experiences at lodging facilities. Brooke has been that perfect answer! Our dogs are anxious when we are away but she has made them so comfortable. We have used her for overnights in her home and shorter drop ins for our home to let them out. It’s so nice knowing that we have someone reliable, who we can count on to take good care of our pups!”

“Amanda was awesome with my high maintenance mastiff! She keeps me informed on how my dog is doing and she sends lots of pictures. When I had to book extra visits last minute due to my mother’s death, she didn’t hesitate to help me.”

“Autumn was great with Cash! She did a quick meet and greet to meet him as well as learn where things were located and his habits. She spent much needed time with him and helped make Cash a new friend!”

“Nicole was great to work with, especially since our travel plans changed at the last minute. She kept us updated on our diabetic cat, and even gave him his twice a day insulin shots. We would definitely book Nicole again.”

About: I’ve been around all types of dogs my whole life, from puppies to seniors. Along with house sitting for family and friends, I have worked in a kennel and with shelter animals. I am also heading towards a career working with animals! I am working, but am flexible with my schedule. I am usually available afternoons and nights on weekdays and on weekends. I can also make mornings work if needed! I have an anxious boy at home who is not great with other animals, so caring for pets in their home would work best for me. I can follow instructions down to the letter and am adaptable to any schedules in place!
“We love Maja! She’s so great with Sirius black even when he’s a brat. I appreciate her attention to detail and the fact that she treats my puppy like he’s her own.”

“We are so fortunate to have found Tawsha! She has been nothing short of amazing so far and genuinely cares for our girls, even though they’re a bit slow to warm up. She’s patient, knowledgeable, and reliable. Cannot say enough good things about Tawsha, highly recommend!”

“Lauren helped me in a pinch for a last minute drop in. She was quick to do a meet and greet. My dog Ted was very excited to meet her and enjoyed his time with her during her drop in!”

Second time we have used Mindy for our boys. Another amazing job. I cannot recommend Mindy enough. Even the anti-social one was able to come around and participate after a few days of coaxing. The two social ones clearly looked forward to her visits. Again, I cannot recommend her enough!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Charlesmac Village. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
