“Desirae was amazing with my pups! She sent lots of photos and clearly she and her daughter gave them lots of love and attention. She even went out of her way to bathe them so they came home nice and clean! She used to be a vet tech and even teaches out to me with an issue she identified in one of our girls and was able to cure her. Thanks so much Desirae!! We will definitely use her again!”

About: Mine was a dog family. My parents showed Chow Chows and Bichon Frisés at dog shows around the country with me in tow as a junior handler grooming, training, and caring for our dogs. In college, rather than wait tables, I worked as a kennel assistant and then as a veterinarian assistant during post-grad, spending weekends caring for medical boarders, administering meds and keeping lonely, isolated dogs company. I’m a deeply attached and passionate rescue advocate and animal-lover. My pets have all been mostly large, lovable mixed-breed dogs and second-chance stories like Betsey. Professionally, I have 20+ years of experience as a copywriter and creative strategist. Before starting Betsey & Julie Walk Dogs, I spent the past year as a Dog Handler at Pawlins Day Care — under the tutelage of all kinds of dogs. I’m a freelance writer and I work from home. I share this home with Betsey, an incredibly sweet five-year-old Labrador Retriever. I’m available and actively involved in your dog’s enrichment and overall experience. I’m active and attentive. Betsey and I are affectionate and accommodating. We love walks, parks, toys, treats, and cuddling. We think your dog will love spending time with us.
“Jas was just perfect for my Percy. She took great care of my Percy like she was her own. My dog felt very much at home with Jas and that’s what makes it so nice and special”

“Blair was great with my baby girl. It was my first time using Rover. I would recommend Blair to care for your furbaby. She sends pictures and keeps in touch while you are away. It put me at ease while I was away.”

“Dalia and her family took excellent loving care of our sweet mixed breed dog Yeti! Daily updates with pictures and videos helped us to know that Yeti was happy and being loved!”

“Elena took care of my two Chihuahuas Zoe and Gizmo. She gave update photos of how they were doing. My dogs were happy and content with Elena. I would definitely recommend Elena to care for your dogs if you need to use Rover. 😊”

“Iryna is fantastic. I could tell immediately that she and her family love animals. Her pup was super sweet when we arrived, so that was a bonus. This was our first time booking with Iryna, which I can find a little stressful. I had nothing to worry about bc she put me at ease immediately. She had great communication throughout the entire stay and kept us updated with plenty of pictures. She noticed a wound on our pup that we weren’t aware of, cleaned and treated it, and let us know right away. We also had a last minute medication request for a separate issue, and she was incredibly accommodating without hesitation. It was clear that she cared for our guy like he was her own. We would absolutely book with Iryna again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, attentive, and reliable sitter. - Diana (and Roy)”

“Micheal is great. Alfalfa comes home relaxed and well taken cared of. He is also very accommodating. We have unfortunately experienced flight delays and He has been very understanding. Thank you!!”

“Rachel and Mike took great care of our pups! This was our first time with a new sitter and they acclimated so easily. Rachel sent us photos daily and I have a sneaking suspicion that one of our dogs didn’t want to come home haha!”

About: Hi! I’ve had dogs my entire life and they’ve always been at the center of my world. My most recent pup, Effy, was with me for 15 years — she was truly the love of my life. While I’m not quite ready to have a dog of my own again, I couldn’t imagine my life without them, which is why I’m so excited to be here on Rover! Your pet will be loved and cared for like my own. I can’t wait to meet them I work from home Monday–Friday, so your pet will have my full attention throughout the day — no long stretches alone. I am able to work remotely so care during the day is no issue. I live in an apartment in Meraux above my dad’s office, so while there’s no yard, we have plenty of space to get outside for walks. There are stairs, but I’m happy to carry pets up and down as needed.
“Kenneth was amazing to work with. Really easy to communicate and coordinate and provided frequent updates on how Gorda was doing. I could tell he took really good care of her and that she had a great time there.”

“Rachelle is a treasured care giver for our pets. I never have to worry about them when they are in her care. From the first meeting, you can tell that caring for all living things is her passion.”
“Ellen was so amazing! Our pups were really well cared for and she was very flexible with drop off/pick up with me. Both pups came home happy and nice and exhausted from all the playing and outdoor time! She’s also very good at responding and sent a lot of pics for me. Would definitely use her again.”

“Mike was wonderful and kind with our girl. He sent lots of videos and we could tell our dog was having a great time. I would rebook with him again for sure.”

“My dogs were spoiled during my time away! I received daily updates and pictures/videos to prove they had a great time! Thank you, thank you, thank you!”

“My little pup had a lovely time with Roxanne! They were great with communication and definitely put me at ease for leaving my baby for the first time in 2 years. I loved getting pictures while I was away, brightened up my day! Frankie will be coming back for sure!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Chalmette
Keyona was ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL! We started with a meet and greet first that went extremely well. She even gave me a recommendation upon noticing how my pup pulls on leash. I had a pickup and drop off doggy care and she was extremely prompt, sent daily photos, and check-ins. A week of me being at peace and not wondering how my baby was doing he was well cared for and he was even trained into a routine. I cannot wait for another experience

Excellent dog sitter! She had great communication throughout the entire time and kept me updated with several messages and photos, which gave me so much peace of mind. It was clear my dog was well cared for and happy. I will definitely be hiring her again in the future and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and attentive sitter!

Andrea and Oscar did a wonderful job! They ensured that my dogs received all their food, snacks, and treats on their regular schedules. They sent a ton of pictures and videos showing how much fun my dogs were having staying with them, whether playing, exploring, or napping on various beds and blankets. Andrea and Oscar's dogs were incredibly friendly: my dogs played all weekend with them. This meant they got lots of exercise and lots of good rest! Lucy and Grizzy are coming back home having learned some Spanish, so I need to practice "vamos" and "comida" at home. It can be really stressful to travel, but I know the next time I leave town, Lucy and Grizzy will have the absolute best time staying with Andrea and Oscar. Will book again!

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
