Amy was a wonderful dog sitter. Her house is clean and convenient, and she was extremely flexible and kind. Our dog loved his time with her and slept for three days straight after we picked him up. I would highly recommend her!

About: I have had dogs my whole life and each one has had a huge piece of my heart. I will treat your dog like they are a part of my family while they are in my care. I am home most of the time. I typically feed around 7:00 am and 5:30 pm, and this can be adjusted to meet your dogs needs. I do have crates if needed. I also have a large size doggie door that leads into a fenced back yard. I close up the house by 9:00pm after we have had the last potty break for the night. I have a cat, so your dog must be cat friendly. I also have a large male dog that is sweet and gets along with other dogs. Dogs are allowed on my furniture. They can either sleep in a crate, or sleep on their own bed, in my bedroom with me and my dog. I offer a daily walk in my neighborhood, weather permitting. Your dog will be the only dog I host. I only host one family at a time so that I can give your dog and my dog the best experience. Your furry family member will feel happy, safe and secure in my home. I encourage meet and greats, so please contact me to schedule.😊

About: My background in animal care extends well beyond traditional pet sitting. I completed extensive veterinary technology education while working full-time in a large, multi-department veterinary hospital, gaining years of hands-on experience with animals ranging from healthy puppies and routine-care patients to senior, hospitalized, post-op, and medically complex dogs. My subsequent transition into “human” healthcare has further strengthened the attention to detail and standard of care that I bring to every animal entrusted to me. My veterinary experience provided a comprehensive foundation in safe animal handling, canine behavior/temperament recognition, medication administration, medical-condition awareness, post-op care, and the identification of subtle changes that may indicate pain, anxiety, or physical distress. I am comfortable recognizing changes in behavior and overall presentation that may warrant closer observation or communication with a pet-parent. I am comfortable caring for dogs across all ages, sizes, and levels of need, including puppies, senior dogs, animals requiring additional behavioral consideration, and pets with established medical or mobility needs. My experience includes oral and injectable medication administration, incision and wound care, mobility assistance, post-operative monitoring, and incontinence-related care. Whether providing a walk, drop-in visit, extended sitting, or boarding, I approach pet care with the same principles that have guided my professional healthcare experience: attentive observation, appropriate precautions, consistency, clear communication, and respect for individualized care requirements. My goal is not simply to supervise a pet while an owner is away, but to provide knowledgeable, responsible care while maintaining the routine, safety, and level of attention each individual animal requires. I recently completed my Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Care and am currently preparing for my board examinations, which allows me a highly flexible schedule and the ability to be home much of the time. At present, I have considerable availability for walks, drop-in visits, boarding, and other pet-care needs, and I am able to adjust my study schedule around confirmed bookings. Once I begin working in the hospital, my anticipated schedule will consist of three scheduled shifts per week, leaving the remaining four days largely open and predictable for pet care. I do not have children or other routinely changing obligations that would interfere with confirmed bookings. Any known limitations to my availability will always be communicated in advance, and with clear communication regarding your pet’s schedule and needs, I am currently able to accommodate a wide range of scheduling requests. Safety and attentive supervision are priorities in our home. Between my husband and me, our dogs are never left home without one of us present, and I maintain that same standard of supervision for pets entrusted to my care. I would not leave a pet unattended while I am responsible for their care. We have a fully fenced backyard and maintain a clean, organized, and uncluttered home and outdoor environment. With a five-month-old puppy of our own, our home is consistently kept pet-safe, with unsafe or inappropriate items secured and inaccessible. I am also careful and deliberate when managing interactions between animals and never assume unfamiliar dogs can simply be left together unsupervised. Introductions, outdoor access, feeding, and shared spaces are appropriately supervised, with the safety and comfort of each individual pet remaining the priority. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I maintain the same standard of supervision, respect for their environment, and attention to safety.

Serena and her family were so sweet and helpful with caring for our fluff. I'm recommending she hook up with the local Inn we stayed at so that guests could have an option to leave their pets with Serena when they attend the Brit shows or perhaps go wine tasting during the day.

About: I’ve always taken care of my own animals and also a lot of family and family friends animals. I’ve honestly never met an animal that didn’t like me. I’m a really fast learner, I also run my own small cleaning business if that’s something you want to discuss don’t be afraid to ask. Im currently working an overnight shift Wednesday-Sunday 9pm -5:30 am so during the day I’m always free this will be changing starting the end of June and I’m always willing to work things out if our days don’t align My dog at home is walked numerous times throughout the day because I live in an apartment but I’m super flexible and willing to follow whatever schedule you have set up.

I can’t even begin to express how grateful we are to have found Dorthy to watch our sweet fur baby, Pippy! They took fantastic care of her with updates and photos the entire time. Our sweet girl took a doggy vacation while we were away with nature walks, fun with the other dogs, play time, long naps, and brushing her out. She was one happy girl all weekend long! Thank you so much for loving our girl and playing with her. It brought us a lot of comfort knowing she was having a blast and safe. I am excited for our next trip and more puppy vacations for Pip! This was better than leaving her with our family!

About: As a registered nurse, I know how to care for humans with compassion and I do the same with animals. I've grown up with dogs, cats, chickens, goats and horses. I love to teach dogs new tricks. If you don't have time to walk your dog or need extra walks to help burn off your pups energy, I'm your gal. I am currently working as an RN and have plenty of time to walk your dog or care for your pets. I recently moved into town from the county and need animal therapy. I treat all animals as if they are my own and I show them love and kindness. I am respectful of owners and their preferences as well as being punctual.

Our dog Bodhi had the best time with Avram! He took him to the lake to swim multiple times, played fetch with him, let him roam around his fenced in yard, sent photo updates. We were grateful to know he was in good hands while on vacation! I would highly recommend Avram to watch your furry friends!

About: I've been an animal lover my whole life and have always had at least one dog or cat in our home, as well as others often like fish and reptiles. I even lived and worked on a goat farm for a while and milked and cared for the goats. I'm an avid hiker and am happy to walk your dog for any length preferred on trail or road. In my other work I have over 15 years of experience as a healer (massage therapy and energy work) and meditation/yoga instructor and bring the calm this field has taught me to pet care. I'm used to hearing pet people tell me that their pets are so calm around me. I seek to form a connection based on trust and understanding with your pet. I am, without a doubt, a cat lady having had cats in my life since the age of 5. I currently have a sweet and sensitive Calico, who has lived with me for the past 11 years. She is a finicky eater and often deals with digestive issues, so I've had plenty of experience with various food regimes and giving supplements. We also have a sweet, playful, young male cat in our home (my daughter's cat) and a beloved bearded dragon. We recently welcomed a Shiba Inu into our family and she is such a joy in our home. I offer pet care as a side gig to my other work and love any opportunity to connect with your furry friends and other pets. I offer pet care part-time in addition to other work I do. I'm happy to walk dogs most weekdays/weekends between 8 am-3 pm and I can do pet check-in's most weekdays and some weekends and holidays with a few days notice. I am sometimes available for overnight pet stays in your home with ample prior notice. When coming to your home, I follow what usual routines you share with me for your pet and treat your home with utmost respect and care. If you have a preferred route to take your dog on a walk or favorite dog park, I'm happy to go with whatever your norm is and will make your dog most comfortable.

Laura was absolutely wonderful with our puppy, Gordy! It’s never easy leaving our dog with someone new, but she made us feel completely at ease from the start. She is kind, communicative and is clearly super good with animals! She took Gordy to the dog park and let him play and get some energy out! It’s obvious he had been loved and well looked after while we were away. We really appreciated the updates (with pictures and videos!) and the peace of mind she gave us throughout the stay. We wouldn’t hesitate to book with Laura again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and reliable dog sitter!

Herschel had a great stay with Susan! She was easy to make plans with and asked lots of questions about his care before his stay. I could tell she really wanted to make sure he was well taken care of. Her home has a safe outdoor area that he can run around in. He can be a handful but she did a great job with him!

This is my first time using this app and finding a sitter for my dog to board with for a couple nights, so I felt very nervous especially since my dog is a rescue and needs specific accommodations and lots of patience. However, I am very happy to say that Neil was the perfect person to take care of my fur baby. When I dropped her off, right off the bat I could tell that he was very much an animal lover as he greeted her with lots of love and pets. His communication skills are on point. He responded to my messages quickly and he updated me several times a day on how my dog was doing as well as sending lots of pictures. My dog often has trouble warming up to new people. However, she was very comfortable with Neil which is definitely a good sign! Neil had also mentioned that his day job is very close to his home, and he went out of his way to go home during his lunch to take my dog for early afternoon walks while I was gone. I believe this shows a lot of responsibility and dedication towards taking care of animals. I would 100% consider Neil in the future to take care of my dog again! I could not recommend him enough!

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in OR ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
