“I can’t thank Maria and Olivia enough for the time they’ve spent with our 3 dogs! They continue to be caring, kind, great communicators, patient with our difficult and reactive dog and loving! Our pups absolutely adore them and we are so grateful for them!”

About: Hi! I’m Esme, a huge animal lover and proud pet parent. I have a Mini American Shepherd named Kita, so I understand how important it is to find someone you trust to care for your furry family members. While I adore dogs, I’m also a big cat lover! Whether your pet enjoys long walks, playtime, cuddles, chasing toys, or simply having someone keep them company while you’re away, I’m happy to provide the care and attention they deserve. I know every pet has their own unique personality, and I love taking the time to get to know them. From energetic pups to shy kitties, my goal is always to help your pet feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I’ll keep you updated with plenty of photos and messages so you can relax knowing your pet is in good hands. I can’t wait to meet your furry family members and become their new bestie! 🐾💕 Animals are already a huge part of my life! As a dog mom to my Mini American Shepherd, Kita, pet care is built into my daily routine. My days are filled with walks, playtime, training, and lots of cuddles. I genuinely love spending time with animals, so caring for pets feels less like work and more like something I enjoy. Whether it’s a dog who loves adventure or a cat who just wants a quiet companion, I love getting to know each pet’s personality and making sure they feel safe, happy, and loved while their family is away. I believe pets are happiest when they can stick to the routines they’re familiar with, so I always try to follow their normal schedule as closely as possible. Whether I’m caring for your pet in my home or yours, I’ll make sure they receive plenty of attention, playtime, exercise, fresh water, meals, and, of course, lots of love. I take the time to get to know each pet’s personality and needs. Some pets love long walks and play sessions, while others prefer cuddles on the couch or a quiet companion nearby. I’m happy to adapt to what makes your pet feel most comfortable. In a client’s home, I respect both your pet’s routine and your home, and I’ll keep you updated with photos and messages so you always know how your furry family member is doing. My goal is to make your time away as stress-free as possible for both you and your pet.
“Coral was fantastic! I left in a rush the morning she was scheduled to walk Ruby and completely forgot to leave my apartment key. She was incredibly flexible and even downloaded an app so she could access the building. She was patient, understanding, and so easy to work with. I’ll definitely be booking with her again!”

“Sandra made my first experience with Rover so wonderful; she took such great care of my little cat gang, including giving my old guy twice daily shots. The peace of mind I had knowing they were all being so well taken care of was crucial to enjoying my vacation away from home! She went above and beyond my expectations with the daily photos and updates. Highly recommend :)”

“As any dog parent knows getting your dog to eat when your gone is always as struggle for some. Rollo my 195 lb baby boy was eating at least once a day with Claudia stopping by which is alot compared to others. We will be booking with Claudia again our pup really enjoys her company and the pictures and updates are always bringing a smile to our faces.”

“We had a very positive experience with Courtney, she took great care of our fur baby. She was always in communication with us while making his visits, very responsible and punctual. Thank you Courtney for the wonderful service provided.”

“This was my first time using Rover and my first time leaving my kitties home alone, so I was a bit nervous. Cole did such a great job taking care of them while we were away and I appreciated the daily updates. He brought in a package for us and also kept an eye on our thermostat. Will definitely book Cole again 👍🏻”

About: I’ve spent time with canines since I could walk! Every summer my parents would rescue different canines in the local area, and leave it to me to train and care for them. I’m currently working part time, so pet care comes as a priority for me. Nothing would make me happier then caring for someone’s fur baby! I have several dog parks within walking distance of my complex, as well as a dog park inside of it as well! As for cats I have all of the appropriate things needed. Food, litter, toys, cat trees, treats and more, all waiting for new fur friends.
About: I'm home full-time and can give your dog lots of attention. My sweet Aphrodite (chihuahua/dachshund mix) loves company, too! We have a big fenced in yard to play in and your dog will be free to roam about the house to find the most comfortable spot where they can relax. I currently work from home and can dedicate a lot of time for playing with and taking care of your dog. Pet care is what I love doing and sharing my home with other dogs brings joy into my life. I've lived with dogs my whole life and I enjoy their company. I have a large fenced in backyard for boarding and doggy day care while you are at work. I also enjoy taking your dog for walks in your own neighborhood, if that's what you prefer.
“Thank you for the exceptional and attentive kitty care!! Sid seemed perfectly happy and relaxed when we arrived home which speaks to the great care he experienced while we were away.”

About: I’ve taken care of all kinds of animals since I was little - kittens and puppies through senior dogs and cats through home experience, volunteering at shelters, and neighborhood services! I love working with animals, and hope to work with yours. As a student in the summer, your pet(s) have my utmost priority, so I schedule my day around their needs and routine. Emergencies and emergency needs are always taken care of. As I’m only working Monday through Thursday, I am very flexible Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I am intimately familiar with detailed and unique household / feeding / play schedules, as well as with administering medication. Every care will be taken to make your pets feels as comfortable as possible in their own home, while respecting their schedules and your expectations.

“Laurie was very kind and flexible when I had to make a last minute change. She sent plenty of photos and left comments to make sure I knew how my doggo was doing! Will book again!”

About: I’ve had dogs my entire life, small, large, and at all stages of life. I know what it’s like to stress about pet care while you’re trying to enjoy your time away and I love being able to help put dog moms minds at ease!! I have two babies of my own who are very mellow but live pretty active life styles. We are constantly together since I get to work from home most of the week and if that means I can help someone with their fur baby then why would I not?! My partner and I both work hybrid jobs so we are fortunate to never really have to leave our fur babies alone. We walk our dogs at least twice a day just because they are older and I want them to be in the best shape through their senior years. I also am huge on making sure my dogs get to experience things so they go with me almost everywhere, even if it’s just for a car ride to get gas!
“Incredible cat care! I could not have asked for a better sitter. I was nervous to leave my cats home while I went away, but Nikki sent many photos and really showed that she was interacting/playing with my cats, which was super important to me. My cats warmed up to her in no time, even the shy one! I would book again in a heartbeat”

“Taylor is AMAZING! Her communication is awesome, she is timely, and she cared for my pup so well! She sent lots of pictures and videos for us to look at while away and made sure my puppy had lots of quality play time. My mind truly was at ease knowing she was with my baby! I can’t recommend her enough!”

“Excellent sitter for our cats. They were well taken care of and perfectly content when we got home. Heather loves you pets just as if they were her own!”

“Ashley was great! We couldn’t have done our trip without her. We really liked getting pictures every day. Would definitely recommend her services and we will absolutely use her next time!”

Ryan is an excellent sitter! He took great care of my cats, spent quality time with them, and sent adorable photos and updates during the visit. Communication was easy, and I felt completely comfortable knowing my cats were in good hands. I would absolutely book with him again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable and caring cat sitter.
Ashley took care of our cats and fish while we were on a long vacation and she did an amazing job! She was very communicative and available the entire time and took perfect care of our pets, including feeding, cleaning, and playing. When our trip was extended unexpectedly, she was able to make an extra visit to make sure everyone was still taken care of. We appreciate her very much!

I booked a dog walker through Rover and had an amazing experience. She was professional, responsive, and clearly cared about my dog from the start. I got great updates and photos during the walk, and my dog came back happy and well-exercised. You can tell she genuinely loves what she does—reliable, kind, and attentive. Thank you for everything.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
