“Shushma and family took excellent care of our fur baby! This was our first experience using this service through Rover and they made us feel completely comfortable. She provided daily updates, pictures and videos which we appreciated. Clean and loving environment. Book her, you won’t be disappointed!”

“I had an amazing experience having Denis and his wife to watch my cat Fifi for a few days! They were able to confirm to watch my cat, given the short notice and on a holiday weekend. I was sent plenty pictures and videos throughout her stay and I was shocked to see how quickly Fifi adjusted to her new environment. I was happy hearing how well she was doing, and seeing her be herself. She had earned their trust pretty quickly on. They really took the time to care for my angel 😌 I could see how much passion, care and attention they have for animals and they treated Fifi as if she was theirs. 🥲 I was worry-free most of the time, knowing she was having a blast with her new friends ☺️ I was able to get alot done while they took Fifi off my hands. My cat will definitely miss being there with them. I am so glad I booked and I absolutely trust them with her again. I highly recommend them looking after your pet! 😊”

“I used Janine for the first time, and she exceeded every expectation. She was professional, communicative, and genuinely caring, providing regular updates that gave me complete peace of mind while I was away. I came home to a happy, well-cared-for dog, and I would absolutely trust her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for an exceptional dog sitter.”

“I highly recommend Juliana and her family as your go to sitter. Juliana is extremely communicative and sends daily updates and pictures/videos. Our dog always comes back clean, happy, and sleepy! Juliana has become our go to sitter for when we travel out of town!”

“David is absolutely fantastic! He took really good care of my pup and ensured that Buddy felt at home. Very happy with David’s services. I look forward to using his services again in the near future.”

“One of The best sitters I’ve found on rover. His place is clean, the dogs are well taken care of and he keeps them happy and safe. Will book again anytime we need a sitter in NY”

“Michelle is amazing! We are new to the area and had a negative experience with a different sitter previously. I was so nervous to try someone new. We found Michelle and I am SO grateful!! I honestly think our dog didn’t want to leave her house. She sent tons of photos and updates. Our Great Dane is sensitive to new situations and will refuse to eat. Michelle waited with her during each meal so she would eat. She truly went above and beyond and I can not recommend her enough.”

“Tanu and her family provided a safe environment for our two dogs. Our senior dog has medical problems, and Tanu communicated promptly when any issues arose. She exercised them regularly and sent us daily updates and photos.”

“Rhonda did a phenomenal job caring for my 1 year old, highly energetic Pomeranian. She sent feedback (pictures) each day to let us know how he was doing AND she took him on a little adventure to Coney Island. From the moment I met her in person, I felt confident that I made the right choice in choosing her. You will not regret leaving your furry friend with Rhonda.”

“Amazing! Tyler is super reliable and trustworthy. I booked the night before and he was very accommodating. Pluto really enjoyed his time. Tyler took him on several walks and gave him lots of love. I received photos every three hours and could see how much comfortable Pluto was. I would highly recommend you book with Tyler!”

“Cynthia was amazing with Chai! Chai felt comfortable and came back with no issues. Cynthia sent updates and pictures and answered all my messages in a timely manner. She was on time to pick up and drop off Chai. Would definitely book with Cynthia again!”

“Robin always does such a good job with my fur babies. It’s nice having someone I can trust with no worry and keeps in close touch with me. They enjoy her company and home. She has watched my cats before prior to Rover and I use this just in case there is ever a time she is not available when I need. Which is always highly unlikely she’s so accommodating.”

“Patty and Shane were the best dog sitters for my little girl. She doesn’t do well with other dogs so I didn’t want to board her for my wedding. They were so attentive to her and kept me updated on how she was doing with daily pictures! I would not hesitate to leave my dog with them! I’m so glad I found the perfect people to watch her whenever I need.”

“Rachel took wonderful care of our elder dog sake and went above and beyond to make her feel comfortable. Her level of care and updates made me feel so much better. I will definitely book her again.”

“Absolutely incredible. They took great care of our baby boy, sent many updates, and we were able to rest assured Shoresy was in good hands and having fun. When our flight home got delayed, they were extremely accommodating and went way above and beyond to help us out. We will definitely be using them again- Shoresy had an amazing time!”

“We had great communication with Shirley throughout the entire process. We did a meet and greet before the stay, and she asked thoughtful questions beforehand to really get to know our dog. During the stay, she shared lots of photos and videos, which we truly appreciated. She was also very flexible and accommodating when we had to change our plans due to the snowstorm. Highly recommend!”

As always Minyon was the perfect bonus fur-mom to my June Bug while I was away. She kept me updated with videos of my girl playing with her friends and I loved that for her. Minyon is super sweet and feels more like a friend than just another dog sitter. Thank you so much for caring for her as if she was your family 🩷

Ingrid and her family are great host. They hosted Max for almost 2 weeks. They have Max lots of attention and love. She sent multiple pictures and videos every day while we were away. She communicates very well and quickly. Will continue to use Ingrid for upcoming trips and maybe check ins from time to time.

I couldn't be happier with the care my dog received! She was kind, reliable, and treated him like one of her own. She kept me updated with photos and messages, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. It was clear he was happy, comfortable, and well cared for. I truly appreciate the love and attention she gave him, and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring dog sitter. Thank you for taking such wonderful care of my boy!

Dayan is amazing she took care of my dog like it was hers pet every day I texts and updates of how my babe (dog) was doing and my dog is a rescue dog and he’s now a senior dog she took great care with him to the point where I felt comfortable while on vacation. Dayan is a great person thank you for looking after my dog max.

Dayanara was so helpful and was able to watch our dog, Ginger, for a last minute booking. She sent updates, included photos, throughout each day. It was good to know that Ginger was being cared for while we were away. This was our second booking with her and we hope to use her services again in the future.

Susan was great - communicative, attentive, and incredibly responsible. While I was away, my dog unexpectedly got sick, and Susan handled everything with great care. It was definitely scary, but Susan never left Rio’s side and kept me updated the whole time. In the end, Rio luckily ended up being totally fine, and I was really grateful to have Susan there taking such good care of her.

First time using Rover and couldn’t have had an easier experience. Jamie was awesome and kept me updated and at ease the whole time. When I came to pick Parker up he didn’t want to leave and he’s nice and tired from all the exercise. Will definitely be using Jamie again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
