“Chase loves Imani! Her calm and friendly demeanor were an A+ and just what my dog enjoys. Imani was great with his high energy and sent me lots of pics and updates. I will definitely book her again.”

“Caitlyn was very communicative and my cat loved her! I came home to my apartment clean and my cat relaxed. Would absolutely recommend Caitlyn to anyone looking for a sitter!”

“This woman is a god send! If you are thinking of hiring her, stop thinking and hire her! I am very anxious about leaving my pup with anyone else but me, and I am also a control freak. Before our scheduled time Keoma jumped in a video call with me so we could meet and chat a bit. Right away I knew I could trust her to take care of Mr. Jacobs. She answered all my questions and she is so knowledgeable! She knows a lot about dogs behavior, you can sense her passion about animals when she speaks about them. Mr. Jacobs is not used to being around other dogs but Keoma’s pup, Pepita, it’s the cutest and sweetest little thing and Mr. Jacobs befriended her within the first hour under their care! She took care of him 2 days in a row. The first day he was scared at the beginning, of course, he’s only 19 months old and is not used to other people, we don’t go out much. But soon enough he was relaxed and having fun. On the second day, when he realized we were going back to Keoma and Pepita he was so happy!! Our boy loves them very much. Keoma is officially the one and only to take care o MJ from now on! Thank you Keoma and Pepita. See you soon!! ♥️”

“Kristen was a special find for us on Rover when we had an unexpected, urgent need. We could not have been happier, and our dogs were very well cared for. It was a perfect match.”

About: I've taken care of animals since I was a kid. Through out my life i have learned how to properly handle dogs, Puppies, cats and kittens by watching my family members and by having my own fair share of pets. I had a puppy of my own in high school and taught myself how ' to potty train as well as learning the different things like the best type of toy for teething, type of treats and food a puppy needs. Also I have had a pet of mine that has had a litter of puppies and learned how to distribute formula to newborns. I currently have two doggies one is 6 years old the other is 7 years old well as a cat that me and my family got from a family friend that found her in their garage. I’ve worked with dogs between the ages of a puppy to a senior dog as well as dogs with disabilities since high school. My love and passion for helping animals in need has made me work with a private owned foster care facility that worked close with dogs with disabilities to places like doggy daycares where I got to see more dogs that require special needs and see first hand how nice and or aggressive a dog can be. I’m currently not in school for the summer so that gives me more time for your fur babies. I can give them my full attention and time and give them the care they deserve and allow you to feel comfortable knowing someone is giving them attention If you require your pet to be in a crate once their walk has been finished or need to be sectioned off to a specific area I will make sure I properly do so.
“Sam is an exceptional dog sitter. She walked and fed and played with Milano and treated him like family. She sent pics and videos which warmed our heart to know he was not just comfortable but so happy. I highly recommend her services.”

“JJ was awesome with our pets. Lots of love and attention for our dog and cat plus the house was taken care of. Will definitely book again on our next trip. Thanks JJ for all your help!”

“Desiree is a thoughtful and conscientious sitter. She stayed over and cared for my older cat and emo dog. She sent regular updates which gave me confidence while I was gone. Five stars. Highly recommend.”

“This was our third time having Kenine watch our dog, Sky, and she’s been amazing every time! She takes great care of Sky and always sends thoughtful updates and photos that give us so much peace of mind while we’re away. We’re so happy to have found someone we trust and are grateful to have her as our regular sitter. Highly recommend!”

“Juan was fantastic! Kept in touch and updated me with pics, asked all the right questions about caring for our dog, even managed to give him a bath, which is pretty impossible! Would definitely trust him, and book again. Top sitter!”

“Jana was absolutely amazing! Everything we could have asked for in a pet sitter! Super communicative and sent lots of photos and videos. Will absolutely be reaching out for support in the future :)”

“Destiny was fantastic with our 2 kitties. This was the first time we left them and she did a great job keeping us updated with texts and videos. I highly recommend her if you want someone friendly and knowledgeable.”

“Nagham has been so responsive and reliable, even before our scheduled sitting times. Roly is a fussy little thing but she was happy to see her and felt comfortable while she kept her company. I often say dog sitters need to deal with the owners temperament as much as the pup, and Nagham has relieved any of my concerns about leaving my dog (who is basically my child) with someone new. She has been patient with my Roly and I! I will definitely be booking her again.”

“Garrett was so wonderful! My girl loved him immediately and I left knowing she was in incredible hands. Garrett was so responsive and asked such great questions to make sure all information was covered. I will definitely book again!”

“Breanna and Myah are amazing sitters and cared for our pups with so much love and attentiveness we are just so grateful! The multiple daily updates and photos were so nice! I would highly recommend them! We already have them booked again for our next trip as well aa some daytime drop ins.”

“Alex was all that and more with our Moka girl. We got pictures and videos of her while away, which made our time away more bearable. Alex even taught her a few new commands! Will most assuredly recommend Alex, AND will absolutely use his services again! Thanks Alex (and crew)”

“We really appreciated Rachel taking care of our pup while we were traveling. He took to Rachel right way. She had no trouble with his habit of sleeping in bed with his dog sitters and his snoring. We got daily photos and updates on him and came home to a spotless house. Rachel was extra sweet in letting us know about when she had meetings during the week and would be away from him. We look forward to Rachel’s next stay with Oscar.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Cedarhurst
My two big fiesty dogs are very reactive to other dogs, but Beverly handled them with no problems, taking them for a long walk, and even encountering other dogs, but keeping the situation under control. Such a relief for me! I like to walk them, but am always worried to ask others to do that. I am very glad to find someone who can do so and keep them in check. They are all bark and no bite, but other dogs and people do not know that, so it is good to know that Beverly understands how to keep everyone safe! She is upfront, honest, and calm. You want her on your team.

Dayanara did a home stay at my apartment and took care of my dog while I was out of town. She kept me updated every day and left my house better than how I left it! My doorman even told me how nice she was. Penny was well taken care of and was a happy pup when I got home.

I truly can’t put into words how grateful we are for Joanna and the care she provided for D. D is a rescue with past trauma, so he is extremely fearful and skittish at first. He’s not an easy dog. Joanna showed INCREDIBLE patience, especially on the first day, giving D the time and space he needed to warm up. Her calm and gentle nature immediately put him at ease. She took him on daily walks and trips to the dog park and consistently sent photos and thoughtful updates, which gave me so much peace of mind. There is nothing more comforting than knowing your dog is happy, comfortable, and truly cared for, and Joanna exceeded all expectations. She also took wonderful care of my apartment — I returned to a clean and tidy home. I would absolutely trust Joanna again and cannot recommend her highly enough.

Kelley is absolutely amazing! She came over to spend time with Jed before our scheduled sit more than once. She is extremely communicative and a total dog lover! Kelley is detail oriented and we felt so at ease leaving our dog in her care in our home. Our home was left immaculate and our dog, Jed, has a new girlfriend. I am so pleased to have established this relationship and trust with Kelley and will not hesitate to use her services in the future. Do not give it a second thought, 100% recommend Kelley!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 18,414 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Cedarhurst. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Cedarhurst walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Cedarhurst maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Cedarhurst choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Cedarhurst. On Rover:
- 88% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
