Super sweet, reliable caregiver 🐾
I’ve always been an animal lover, although I’ve only ever had birds of my own. I’m that person that wants to pet every dog, and pspsps at every cat on the street. I’ve been a caregiver for children with special needs for 15 years, and in doing so, ended up being hired as an animal caregiver as well. These families saw the care and attention I’d give all living beings, and soon I was being referred to more people because they saw how clear it was that I really, genuinely love taking care of their pets. I’ve cared for puppies, kittens, birds, and fish - as well as older dogs and cats that needed to be given medication.

I love to make pets feel as comfortable as possible, especially if the family is away for an extended period of time. When house sitting for a client, I follow all the rules and routines that are specific to that individual animal. I have done up to 6 walks a day for a very nervous pup, as well as cuddle time, and whatever else makes the pets feel loved and secure. I am always available by phone and welcome any check-ins by the clients. I offer utter transparency, reliability, and trustworthiness.

I truly can’t put into words how grateful we are for Joanna and the care she provided for D. D is a rescue with past trauma, so he is extremely fearful and skittish at first. He’s not an easy dog. Joanna showed INCREDIBLE patience, especially on the first day, giving D the time and space he needed to warm up. Her calm and gentle nature immediately put him at ease. She took him on daily walks and trips to the dog park and consistently sent photos and thoughtful updates, which gave me so much peace of mind. There is nothing more comforting than knowing your dog is happy, comfortable, and truly cared for, and Joanna exceeded all expectations. She also took wonderful care of my apartment — I returned to a clean and tidy home. I would absolutely trust Joanna again and cannot recommend her highly enough.
Best!! This is the 3rd time we have had Joanna stay with Hazel and we couldn't be happier! I actually checked her availability before I booked our trip since I knew having her stay with Hazel would make our trip more relaxing for us. She was there for a week and our normally shy pup started opening up within 2 days - which we saw in the all the pics/videos that Joanna sent us. As like last time, she had her out on over 1 hour walks each time (which we can tell by Hazel's GPS collar). She checked in with us on a stormy day that was spooking Hazel too. Our place was left very clean and Joanna had stacked all my packages for us (right before the holidays, this was super helpful!). Highly recommend Joanna! Real piece of mind that our pup was well cared for while we enjoyed our vacation.
The Best! Joanna stayed with Hazel at our apt for a week. It was the 2nd time she has stayed with her and we couldn't be happier. Hazel is super shy around everyone but us, but Joanna seems to have won her over. We could see that from the video and pic updates we received. She had her out on over 1 hour walks each time (which we can tell by Hazel's GPS collar) on adventures around the neighborhood. Seeing her tail wagging with someone else was heartwarming. As far as our place, the linens were stripped, trash taken out, dishes done, my packages stacked and everything very tidy...perfect to come home to. Highly recommend Joanna! Real piece of mind that our pup was well cared for while we enjoyed our vacation.
Highly Recommended!!! Joanna house sat with our 6 year old pups Hazel for 5 days/4 nights. Hazel has anxiety and is anxious around people. It was obvious from Hazel's demeanor and expressions in the daily pics/videos that we got from Joanna that she was warming up to her - including tail wags by the end of the short stay - which is big accomplishment with Hazel. Joanna checked in as requested, asked questions/for suggestions when appropriate (Hazel did her usual hunger strike in the beginning of the trip), gave her the meds and took on her super long walks - which i'm sure helped with the bonding. Being able to read a dog's energy/mood, esp. with a dog like ours, is key and Joanna got it - we saw it for ourselves when we were all together when we got home. Also, our place was as clean (if not cleaner) than how we left it. Having her watch Hazel made it so we could more comfortably enjoy our time away knowing our pups was in good hands. We don't have any trips planned yet, but we already asked her to sit once we do. Overall, we highly recommend Joanna!
Joanna stayed in my Brooklyn apartment for a week while my family was away on vacation. She took excellent care of my 2 year old Cavapoo who has anxiety. She walked her at least four times a day, played fetch with her (outside and inside), groomed her with a comb, and fed her twice a day. She gave her a lot of attention and affection. She also took care of my cat which involved feeding and scooping litter and playing with toys. Joanna is very responsible and was in regular communication with questions and updates. We returned to a clean apartment and very happy pets. We’d 100% have Joanna care for our pets again!
Joanna has excelled at watching my house and of course the cat that resides there. She was great at taking care of feed and fed him quite often. What I appreciated the most the the firm yet gentle discipline she administered to him. She caught him peeing on my clothes and rugs a few times and placed him outside, which taught him not to act like that while I was away. Schedule
My regular full time job is childcare, but I work for several different families throughout the day, and have a schedule that’s full of breaks. I specialize in house sitting, so I can give your furry friend(s) as much of my time as possible.
