“Karina was amazing from beginning to end. I felt a little skeptical about leaving my fur child with anyone unfamiliar. From texts before the drop off, Karina made me feel comfortable. I received texts, pics and videos of my dog continuously throughout the day to see my dog, adjusting to a new person and environment. I could see my bully taking to Karina very easily which gave me peace of mind while away. Karina was very attentive to my fur baby and making sure that she was her priority while under her care. When I picked up my dog the first thing I asked after expressing my appreciation was, if I ever have to leave my dog with anyone again, can I look you up on Rover and she said yes! I highly recommend anyone leaving your fur child with Karina who is attentive and sensitive to your pet adjusting to new people and surroundings. Amazing pet sitter. 5 stars ⭐️”

“Amazing! Tyler is super reliable and trustworthy. I booked the night before and he was very accommodating. Pluto really enjoyed his time. Tyler took him on several walks and gave him lots of love. I received photos every three hours and could see how much comfortable Pluto was. I would highly recommend you book with Tyler!”

About: I’ve been a pet sitter for fish, cats, dogs, and reptiles. I used to volunteer at the animal shelter back home. I’ve fostered puppies and kittens for almost 10 years; since I was in high school. It fits in my daily life cause I myself have two beautiful puppers named Scooby and Lola who I feed a mostly raw diet. Scooby is 5 years old and a very active boy who’s an avid long distance walker, Lola is still just a puppy I will follow exact instructions as provided by the owner of the pet(s) and I can offer suggestions and basic training for pets upon request.

“Dayanara did a great job with my pit bull Fiona! I was desperate to find a sitter for the holidays and she came through for me big time. She sent me pictures and updates throughout their visit and I could tell my little dog had a great time. Highly recommend.”

“Vanessa was amazing ! I was away for a week for vacation and she eased my stress about leaving my Sonny. I loved that she works from home and was able to give my dog the attention he needs . She also sent me updates and pictures everyday which helped ease my anxiety. This was my first time leaving my dog with a Sitter and i am beyond pleased. I will definitely be using Vanessa's services in the future ?”

“Michelle was a Godsend!!! I was referred to her for a last minute dog sitter. The moment I met her I knew she truly loves dogs. Michelle put my mind at ease and I knew Rocki would be in excellent hands. Rocki is normally standoffish and LOVED her immediately after meeting her. She sent pictures, videos, and updates throughout the night. Rocki is very scared of thunderstorms and she petted her throughout the night to keep her calm. I will definitely use her again! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!!”

“Ruth-Ann took excellent care of Marley who was having some allergy-related issues. I needed to extend his stay on short notice due to unforeseen circumstances and she was more than accommodating. I was not so worried about him as she provided frequent pix and video updates. Highly recommend Ruth-Ann as a sitter!”

“Sam was amazing! We had never left Penelope with any sitter and Sam made us feel very comfortable and confident. She sent us pictures as well which made us feel at ease. We definitely plan to have Penelope stay with Sam again in the future. Thank you, Sam!”

“We boarded our 3 year old Shih Tzu with Shushma & her family for 3days. Our Bria was at home as soon as she walked in the door & was greeted by Shushma & her Yorkie Poo Lily. Lily & Bria were instant BFFs. Shushma sent us pictures & videos so our trip was carefree - we knew our pup was in good hands. Bria got plenty of TLC. Val & Ed”

“Cannot say enough great things about Sam and her family. You can truly tell they love animals and took care of my dog like he was their own. She kept me updated and send me pictures for the week I was away. My dog truly did not want to leave when I went to pick him up. I know he cannot wait to go back!”

“We had great communication with Shirley throughout the entire process. We did a meet and greet before the stay, and she asked thoughtful questions beforehand to really get to know our dog. During the stay, she shared lots of photos and videos, which we truly appreciated. She was also very flexible and accommodating when we had to change our plans due to the snowstorm. Highly recommend!”

“Pam does it again!!! Mugsy can be such an anxious little guy when away from our little family, but he waltzed right into Pam’s house knowing he was in good hands!!!! We received multiple updates throughout our extended trip which kept the kids (and me!) calm knowing he was in such a loved and welcomed home!!! Pam’s house has become Mugsys own little vacation as he gets spoiled with treats and playtime with all of his new doggy friends!!!! Thank you so much Pam!!!!”

“This was the third time Michael has watched our dog, and once again we were so impressed. Our dog gets genuinely excited to see him, which says everything about how well he’s treated. It’s clear Michael goes above and beyond to care for him, and we always feel completely at ease knowing he’s in such good hands. Highly recommend!”

“Cinthia was amazing! She was incredibly communicative and attentive to my girls. I was really nervous leaving them with a sitter because of a bad experience with another sitter. Cinthia was compassionate and understanding of my anxiety and took great care of my girls. I will be using her services again!!”

“Denis and his wife were fantastic with our cat. There are clearly cat people - and we felt great knowing Dean Martin was staying with such kind people....”

About: For the past six months, I’ve been caring for my own Shih Tzu, and she inspired me to become a pet caregiver. Taking care of her has taught me the importance of patience, love, and responsibility. I have experience with daily walks, feeding, playtime, grooming, administering basic care, and making sure she feels safe, happy, and comfortable. Caring for my dog has shown me how rewarding it is to provide pets with the attention and affection they deserve, and I’m excited to give the same level of care to every dog I look after. I'm currently working part-time. I only work Monday, Thursday, 7 hours and Friday 3 hours, which means that I have a lot of time to dedicate to your pet ❤️ I also have a 6-month-old dog of the Shihtzu breed so your baby will have company 🥰 I have a house with a patio in front of the house with a defense, also a backyard for the kids to play, the backyard has no defense because it connects with the parking lot of the house, they will have daily walks and above all I’ll take them to the park, parks where dogs are allowed all under precautions
“This was Miles’ first stay with Britany. From the time he was dropped off, I felt very comfortable. Britany was warm and inviting. She sent updates throughout the visit, which was very reassuring. Miles adjusted well and was his usual playful self. Thanks, Britany! Highly recommend!”

“We had an amazing experience with our dog sitter, Samantha! She took such great care of our dog, Nugget, while we were away. She kept us updated with regular messages and the cutest pictures, which really put our minds at ease. It was clear that Nugget was having a great time—he went on plenty of walks and got to play outside often, which he absolutely loves. We could tell he was happy, well cared for, and in very good hands. Thank you so much for treating Nugget like family! We highly recommend her and would definitely book again.”

“Brigette was fantastic. She’s super responsive, even for a last minute request, and was an absolute lifesaver for us. She was great with our dog and we’re looking forward to working with her in the future!!”

“Kara-Ann took wonderful care of our cat, Bernie, while we were away. She was reliable, attentive, and clearly cared about making sure Bernie was comfortable and well cared for. We really appreciated the updates and the peace of mind knowing he was in good hands. Bernie warmed up to her quickly, which says a lot! We would absolutely book with Kara-Ann again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and dependable pet sitter.”

Ingrid and her family are great host. They hosted Max for almost 2 weeks. They have Max lots of attention and love. She sent multiple pictures and videos every day while we were away. She communicates very well and quickly. Will continue to use Ingrid for upcoming trips and maybe check ins from time to time.

Narly was a fantastic host for my little furbaby. She sent multiple pictures of her daily and kept her comfortable outdoors weather permitting and inside during the heatwave. I felt completely comfortable with my pet in her care and would use her services again!

Once again, I was worry and stress free leaving Lucas in the care of Caitlyn and family. They are so kind and caring with Lucas. He is particular and has specific needs which they are able to accommodate. I received updates, pics and stayed informed of his care during our time away. Thank you so much for taking excellent care of my furbaby :)

Dayanara was so helpful and was able to watch our dog, Ginger, for a last minute booking. She sent updates, included photos, throughout each day. It was good to know that Ginger was being cared for while we were away. This was our second booking with her and we hope to use her services again in the future.

Stephanie is an incredible pet sitter! We are so grateful to her for taking such great care of our dog (1 year, 8 months old) for a weekend stay. We have a high-energy dog who requires a lot of attention (e.g., play time/soccer in the backyard and walks) - Stephanie truly went above and beyond for our dog. Stephanie also constantly checked in with multiple photos every day (during the weekend stay), provided updates, and followed our detailed instructions. We can tell our dog enjoyed his time with Stephanie as well! Thank you very much to Stephanie for being a kind-hearted, loving, attentive, reliable, and wonderful dog sitter!

This is my first time using Rover so I was unfamiliar with the whole process. I had lots of worries and questions but Catalina did an amazing job with my dog. She kept me updated every day and sent me lots of photos! She made this experience a great one. I will definitely be booking her in the future. Highly recommend!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
