About: I have always lived on property I have several dogs and cats. I have had horses even. I love to hangout with animals and take care of them. I have volunteered many times at my local dog humane society in San Luis Obispo. I love going into nature and love having the company from animals. I have gone to several training classes with my own puppies and do a lot of clicker training with them. I have pets on my own and I love to take them on walks daily. I live on property so sometimes I’ll just walk them here or we will go and explore the local beaches. I like being able to get exercise but also have a companion with me. I care for pets in my home by making sure that they have exercise are getting played with and fed. For clients I would like to do whatever they ask me to do. if that means going to the dog park or going on a hike, I am down to do whatever.
“Dropped off Flower for a short visit today before I board him with Andrew. I had previously met with Andrew so that Flower could meet him and Flower was very happy to see him. When I picked up my little dog, he seemed very content and peaceful sitting in his little bed. It made me very happy to see that my dog was happy and apparently had a good visit! I feel great about leaving flower with Andrew for the upcoming weekend after this wonderful experience.”

“Joan was a compassionate, patient and gracious caretaker for our dog Ollie. It was Ollie's first time with a dog sitter and she took very good care of him. We will definitely bring Ollie back when we travel to the Central Coast area. We highly recommend Joan!”

“Isabelle was such a great host for our dog Jayden. My wife and I traveled to Reno from out of town for an event. Our dog is a 15 year old lab that is mostly blind, mostly deaf and has a few other “old lady” problems. Despite all this Isabelle agreed to watch Jayden for a few hours. Isabelle’s communication before and during Jayden’s stay was exceptional as she kept us updated on how Jayden was doing and sent a few pics as well. Isabelle was also very flexible when we asked if we could drop Jayden off earlier than originally planned. Isabelle is a great dog sitter and made Jayden’s time away from us as comfortable as possible. My wife and I have total trust in Isabelle and will definitely use her again if ever in the area.”

About: I think of myself as a pet grandparent: I get to spoil them with love and attention and then send them home safe and happy! Local Trust: Los Osos resident & homeowner for 25+ years. Peace of Mind: I use a calm approach to build quick bonds with all pets. 🌈 I am a work-from-home artist and musician with a background in nursing. “Rachel is a FANTASTIC soul! My dog immediately felt her loving energy! He will tremble and bolt if he is not feeling comfortable. He is 13 years old and has a tumor; she was very attentive and patient with him. I will definitely entrust my Teddy to her in the future. Thank you Rachel!!!”

“Very accommodating! We arrived a bit early and 30 minutes late to pick them up and Natalie didn’t flinch. So nice! She sent a video of the kids playing. We definitely recommend her!”

Jack felt right at home and he loved spending the day with her and sweet Sumi. Katie was very responsive and she sent pics and updates throughout the day. She took Jack out for walks and treated him like he was her own fur-baby. We will definitely be using Katie again for watching Jack. We all loved her!”

“Marla was a wonderful sitter for my doggy. She has a great home with a big yard. She was very communicative all day and sent pictures to help me see how she was doing. About: I’ve had dogs my whole life and currently have a 13 year old dog named Sammy and a 7 year old dog named Martin in Colombia. Being around dogs has taught me a lot about different personalities, routines, and the care they need at different stages of life. I also help care for my friends’ dog, Perry, when they travel, so I have experience with daily routines, giving medication when needed, monitoring feeding and weight, and making sure pets feel comfortable, loved, and safe. I understand that every dog is different, and I would treat your pet with the same care, patience, and attention I give my own. My schedule is flexible and I make time for pet care throughout my week. I understand the importance of consistency, routines, and giving pets the attention they need. I’m committed to making sure pets feel comfortable, cared for, and loved while keeping owners updated along the way. I understand how important trust is when leaving your pet with someone else. I always follow the pet’s routine, feeding instructions, medication schedules if needed, and any specific care requests from owners. I pay close attention to behavior and make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for in a calm environment.

I am a college student currently home for winter break so I have lots of time to play and walk your pups! I love spending my free time being active and I have always been a dog lover! “Chris, was very patient and kind regarding our 3.5 year old pup and took him on a few walks during his doggie day care time from 9:30-4:30pm. His dog, Cash, and Nugget both enjoyed their puppy time together. Christ was great at being able to handle all the puppy shananagans they had together. Chris really helped me out while my husband and I were at my father’s memorial service. We are so appreciative and recommend his services. He is new to the area but don’t let that stop you from utilizing his services.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Cayucos
Rachel was delightful, professional, and loving to my pet. I recommend her without hesitation. She was easy to communicate with, and we communicated for two weeks before the booking date. The venue included a grassy back yard, and we arrived to pick up our 75 lb. English setter, and our selfish doggo ignored us to continue chewing on a chewy, stress free, clearly content, possibly looking for a different home, indeed. Rachel was responsive to all of the information that I gave her. I am confident to suggest that if you need some doggy sitting near Cayucos, please consider Rachel. This is a positive and affirmative review. Please consider Rachel's joyful service.

Oscar had a great stay with Seamus and Leslie! I was worried Oscar would be nervous about a new place but he went right with them and was well taken care of. They sent updates and photos of Oscar too. I’m so glad I found Oscar a great place to stay while we toured the area.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
