“Cameron is our go-to person to watch Neo when we’re away. Always on time, He makes Neo feel home, so that we don’t have to worry about Neo during our travels. His detailed notes from the rover card ensure that Neo gets the same amount of love and care as we would give. I would 100% book Cameron again and recommend him to anyone looking for dog-sitting help with their furry family member.”

About: I grew up with multiple Rottweilers which is why I love taking care of dogs, especially bigger breeds. I’ve dog sat for many different friends and family members. I even temporarily fostered a German shepherd who is now living with his forever home. I’m currently working part time, but will be starting a remote job soon which will open my schedule up almost completely for Day sitting or extended-stays even on short notice. I would be able to take your dog out for potty or walks as many times as they need or requested. I make sure to listen and follow any specific instructions that the owner gives me. I know that every dog and cat is different and it’s important to cater to their needs.
About: Dog and cat owner for over 18 years. I also have had hermet crabs and an axolotl - love all animals! They all have a unique personality and it's so fun to get to know them. Just a girl who was not able to have animals as a child so I have an entire adulthood to make up for that surrounding myself with the best creatures out there - animals! We can learn so much as people from animals and showing how we care for animals reflects who we are. I currently am a mom at home with kids in school so I have availability during the day and am flexible for evenings as well. I have a dog, 2 cats and an axolotl. It's important animals feel safe with me so I let them take the lead and I engage with them when they show they are ready. I'm happy to do what you as the client feel comfortable with and need for your fur babies to feel safe and comfortable.
“I would happily recommend Alexandra to anyone! She was so easy to work with, very communicative, timely and reliable. We have a 65 pound Staffy who is high energy (our last dog walker quit cuz she was "to much" for him) and Alexandra was able to work with us and handle her wonderfully! We will continue working with her in the future anytime we need someone to watch our pup. 😊”

“Hope was awesome! Her initial meet and greet with Oakley & I made it easy to see her trust worthyness. And now Oakley has a new friend. I love how easy it was to tell that Oakley got all of his wiggles out cuz he was calm by that time I got home. I'll definitely use Hope's services again. Sharon”

“McKenna is absolutely wonderful! She is highly responsive, communicative, and incredibly flexible with our schedule. It gave us total peace of mind knowing our pup was in such capable and accommodating hands. We will definitely be booking with her again and highly recommend her services!”

“We haven't used Rover before and were a bit skeptical until we met Miranda! She took such good care of our cat and made us feel comfortable. I would definitely recommend her to anyone.”

“Whitney was a lovely sitter! She followed all instructions perfectly and was reliable with the timing of her visits. Having Whitney look after our fussy cats put us at ease. We can't thank her enough!”

“Nickey is the absolute best!! We were so nervous to leave our very shy and anxious cat for a week but she calmed our nerves with daily videos and pictures. Our cat warmed up to her gentle and sweet demeanor right away and we could not be more grateful for the peace of mind she gave us on our trip. She is kind, thoughtful, trustworthy, and mindful. We are so happy we chose Nickey and will be using her whenever we take another trip. Thank you so much Nickey!!”

“Kristen was great! Her care of our fur baby was meticulous & she updated us every day with photos. Our home was also respected by her as we noticed almost no difference from when we left it. We are happy to have found such a responsible sitter & hope she is available for our next trip. Five stars in every department!!”

“Jennifer is great, and I would use her again when the need arises. She kept in regular contact, followed all my detailed instructions, and sent pictures with each of her visits. My pets were happy and healthy when I returned home.”

About: Have owned multiple cats and dogs, including those requiring medical care. Worked at a veterinary clinic caring for the animals. Worked at a stable caring for horses and a sheep. Sat for friends' dogs in Chicago. My youngest is in college so I have plenty of time to dedicate to your fur babies. My husband works from home so he can take care of our little guys while I take care of yours. Happy to stay with your little friends for most of the day and to stay over if your prefer. I am comfortable with taking dogs for walks or playing in your backyard. Very happy to hang with your dogs or cats whether they want to play, exercise, relax or snuggle. Very familiar with walks, food schedules, crating if desired, and medicine if needed.
“Joslynn showed up a couple of minutes early to walk and check in on Cali, my German shepherd puppy. Cali seemed happy and tired when I arrived home from work. Thank you to Joslynn for not being afraid of the puppy chewing and jumping stage.”

“Mike helped us out for a last-minute short trip, and did a great job with our two cats. In addition to following directions for their care, he kept their food dishes really clean, which we appreciated. When we returned, they seemed calm, which we interpret to mean they were comfortable and content with Mike! We would definitely hire him again!”

“Courtney was amazing. She took care of Kiki very well. I felt very comfortable living here with my home and I would hire her again anytime. She was very attentive and even took care of the small details like making sure her box was clean and also making sure there’s a light on if you wanted to. The report were detailed and on time. This was very appreciated.”

“Mary is always my go-to person. She is incredibly caring, thorough, and responsive, which gives me complete peace of mind whenever I’m away. Knowing that my pets are in such capable and compassionate hands makes all the difference. I highly recommend Mary to anyone looking for a reliable and trustworthy sitter.”

“Sarah is fantastic! My cat has special needs (although you’d never know) so I’m super particular about who watches my boy. That said, I would request her to watch my kitty again, hands down! She followed directions, was super communicative, and allowed us to fully enjoy our vacation without worrying about our cat the whole time. We got back and Leo was screaming his head off because he missed us, but we know Sarah spent the time to sit with him and give him love and we all couldn’t appreciate that more. (Thank you, Sarah!)”

“Marysa was great! Took care of our two shy kitties and communicated everyday with updates. She followed the instructions we provided and paid attention to the details. We really appreciated her help and coming home to two happy kitties!”

About: I always had a large dog growing up. Just haven't gotten one of my own. All dogs are welcome, big or small, as long as they are potty trained, and dont chew on shoes or furniture. I am available to make sure they are walked, fed, and let outside throughout the day. There are no children in the house to worry about. The house is small, but full of love. There is nothing that is breakable or dangerous to the dogs. I currently work full time teaching during the morning and day and have free afternoons. I have a roommate who if I am not home can tend to the dogs. There is a safe road to walk down to get the energy out. I am absolutely willing to take dogs to the park if they enjoy car rides.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Cathcart. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
