“Mike helped us out for a last-minute short trip, and did a great job with our two cats. In addition to following directions for their care, he kept their food dishes really clean, which we appreciated. When we returned, they seemed calm, which we interpret to mean they were comfortable and content with Mike! We would definitely hire him again!”

About: I have 27 years of experience in veterinary medicine as a veterinary assistant. I'm comfortable administering oral medications and injections, caring for senior pets, and monitoring pets with special medical needs. I understand how important it is to provide patient, compassionate, and reliable care so your pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you're away. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I have a flexible schedule that allows me to provide reliable visits, walks, feeding, medication administration, and companionship throughout the day. I understand the importance of consistency and communication, and I enjoy spending quality time with pets while helping them maintain their normal routines when their families are away. When caring for pets in a client's home, I strive to maintain their normal routine and environment to reduce stress. I follow all feeding, medication, exercise, and care instructions carefully, while monitoring for any changes in behavior, appetite, or health. With 27 years of veterinary experience, I understand the importance of safety, attention to detail, and clear communication with pet owners.
“Nikolay is wonderful! He spends time with my dogs and plays with them and allows them time outside to use the restroom! Highly recommend and will continue to book with him. Very reliable and always communicates”

“Yeydy was great with our kitties! She was quick to respond, thoughtful and we loved seeing picture updates of our guys while on vacation! Thank you Yeydy for being an awesome sitter, I would highly recommend her. Very professional and nice! 10/10”

“Joslynn showed up a couple of minutes early to walk and check in on Cali, my German shepherd puppy. Cali seemed happy and tired when I arrived home from work. Thank you to Joslynn for not being afraid of the puppy chewing and jumping stage.”

“Caitlin is extremely reliable and flexible. We appreciate her so much watching Zoey. We have rebooked with her many times and will continue to as she has been so incredible to work with. She’s been our life saver! Also so much patience as Zoey is still learning and a bit of a crazy pup sometimes”

About: I have been taking care of dogs and cats alike since I was eleven years old. While cats and dogs are my favorites to take care of, I also have experience caring for rodents, reptiles, and amphibians. Right now I am a college student doing school from home, so I always have time to pop in and take care of animals however best it fits their schedules. I want to do what's best for the animals overall. I am a very calm, very patient person, and have worked with dogs and cats with quite varying personalities. I work very well with energetic animals and can handle pretty much any animal mood, including jumpy dogs and angry cats.
“Very pleased with Rebecca’s service. She is amazing with our golden retriever and did such a great job taking care of him! She’s very thoughtful, timely and makes sure pets feel loved with her :))”

“Hope did an amazing job taking care of our cat and senior dog. She was so sweet and reliable. She made sure our dog got her medicine, kept her company, and always sent pictures and an update on how they were doing. I would love to have the opportunity to work with Hope again in the future! Highly recommend.”
About: Experience: I've got over 1000 hours of hands on dog training and handling experience, and I absolutely love anything with four legs (even the hairless ones)! I've been a dog trainer for around 5 years, plus have around 100 hours of additional education. I am very well practiced in positive reinforcement training (meaning I never use punishment) and rewarding good behavior. As well as a dog trainer, I've also spent time as a dog bather. One of my favorite parts about training is earning the trust of the animal and seeing them become more comfortable around me and just existing in the world. Pets mental and physical health: I loooove being able to provide enrichment for pets! Enrichment is basically letting your pet interact with the world around them by encouraging them to use their senses, and practice behavior that is innate to them (think running, sniffing, chasing, etc). This not only helps get out their energy, but helps mentally tire them out. Over all it creates a more satisfied pet! This is one of my favorite parts about pet care because it allows you to really get to know the animal and understand them on a deeper level. I've owned 4 guinea pigs over the years, and am very familiar with their illnesses, health issues, and care. I am comfortable providing some medical care for them, like syringe feedings/medications. If your piggy needs different kinds of medical attention, please let me know when we initially talk. I am more than happy to learn about caring for other exotics (seriously, I learn about animal husbandry for fun). A note: while I am not super familiar with reptiles, I am more than happy to learn to about their care. Daycare and Boarding: Because I practice responsible pet care, I limit my boarding and daycare to one pet family (example: if you have two dogs, I'm only watching those two dogs, and other no dogs from outside your household). This allows me not only the ability to prevent things like potential fights between dogs who don't know each other, but also allows me the ability to give your pups more care and attention. This also explains why my prices may be a bit higher than other sitters. I'm so happy to get to meet you and your pet! I'm currently pet free (my last two pets passed away recently), so my entire day will center around your pets. I love walking dogs and caring for animals! I love spending time with animals. One of my favorite parts of training is working with the animal to get to know them and their needs, and fulfilling them with management and enrichment. I love helping animals exercise those brain muscles that they may not otherwise be able to!
“Claudia did such a great job with our pup! She sent videos and pictures that were so fun to receive during my work day. Her detailed explanation of her visit was much appreciated! Safe to say Nash was a happy pup and I am a happy owner knowing he was in such good care during her stay.”

“Jovanna went out of her way to take care of my “Family”…brother and sister Rough Collies. She was super-attentive, checked in regularly, and kept them happy on her visits! I would highly recommend her to anyone who wants someone that can be trusted to love your dogs, and take care of you!”

Took stellar care of my cats on short notice. Im very appreciative of his trustworthiness and attentiveness towards the needs of my pets. One of my cats is super skittish and wont eat around strangers. Michael has never failed to ensure he is cared for. Definitely someone that can be relied on.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Monroe. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
