I can highly recommend Liora for pet and house sitting. She stayed with our dog, Bentley for 4 days and took wonderful care of him and our home. She walked Bentley several times a day, enjoyed play time with him and overall seemed to bond really well. Liora was very responsible in giving him his medications and the communication was great with daily updates on how he was doing, and shared images and videos that were very much appreciated. Additionally, she left the house very clean and tidy. We look forward to having Liora stay, and pet sit again!

I’m so glad I found Lou! He could not have been nicer or more responsive. I booked him to take care of my precious baby while we went to visit Hearst Castle. He met us at our hotel and took Joy to the park and hung out with her while we enjoyed a stress free visit. He even met us at the Castle entrance for the drop off. It felt like we got VIP treatment! I would not hesitate hiring Lou. The reviews are true. He really is kind and gentle and goes above and beyond. Most importantly, Joy was well cared for.

Simply wonderful with my furry children! My 4 month old papillon/chiweenie is so afraid of people but warmed up nicely with Jennifer’s amazing demeanor. I received pictures and updates and knew my pups were in good hands. I highly recommend Jennifer and would definitely use her again!

About: As a former veterinary assistant, I have acquired and practiced a number of skills above and beyond those of a typical pet sitter. I'm adept at administering medications of all kinds (including subcutaneous fluids), nail trimming and other basic grooming... I even assisted in surgeries! Animals are drawn to me and me to them. I've had a special chemistry with pets since I was a child. My own internal reliance on routines means that your pet can rely on regular, predictable and consistent care. Pet care is an integral part of my daily routine – as a fellow pet owner, you know the drill. It's an all-day, every-day procedure starting from the first morning pawing at my nose and going until, well, the last evening pawing at my nose. As far as caring for other pets, my schedule is flexible and I make every effort to keep a regular routine that help your pet feel safe and cared for. We have two cats who I dote on (my wife might say "spoil"). They wake me up like clockwork every morning for their breakfast and play. We let the senior outside for supervised, fenced play (aka time away from his big little brother), but the 2-year-old is strictly indoors. I've developed daily routines and timelines with each of my pets and they reward my consistency with plenty of cuddles and purring. We recently got a wheel for our younger cat, and he likes to run while I'm on zoom calls.

Emily was AMAZING with our two dogs! Señor and Benji were not only properly cared for, but were loved and given lots of attention while we’re were away. Emily took care of our dogs and our home for 5 days and we cannot say enough about how happy we are with her! She sent pics of the dogs and even let our crazy chihuahua steal her blanket when he had 4 of his own! What a kind person, we feel so lucky to have met her through Rover and will definitely have her back when we need the boys to be cared for again!!

Kiah was absolutely wonderful. We were gone for just over a week and we got daily pictures and videos of our dog’s adventures. She was more than happy to continue building training/good behavior as he has been with us for only a couple of months. Although I cleared it beforehand, she went above and beyond watering my garden and even took our dog on adventures and (approved) multi-dog walks, helping socialization and confidence! We will absolutely continue to use her services!

About: I’ve cared for animals for over 5 years, including dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, and other small pets. I’m comfortable with daily walks, feeding schedules, cleaning enclosures, and administering oral or topical medications when needed. I understand how important it is to follow routines closely and provide attentive, reliable care so pets feel safe and comfortable while their owners are away. I treat every pet with patience and respect as if they were my own! I know every pet has their own routine, so I do my best to stick to what they're used to. Whether that's mealtimes, walks, playtime, or just keeping them company, my goal is to help them feel comfortable while you're away. I'll also send plenty of photo updates so you can see how they're doing! I’m based in Paso Robles and provide care along the Paso Robles–San Luis Obispo area, including Templeton and Atascadero. For house sitting, I plan my schedule around each pet’s individual needs and how long they’re comfortable being left alone. I may be away from the home at times for school, work, errands, or other commitments, so I like to discuss your pet’s routine and alone-time needs before booking to make sure we’re a great fit!

About: Active and attentive family available to provide multiple levels of care for your fur baby! Our nine-year-old is interested in starting a dog walking business (with support from mom or dad), and we are also able to board a friendly dog who would be sharing space with our elderly dog or do drop-ins/ house sit when more appropriate (not the whole family!). We can provide exercise through walks, on-leash hikes, or whatever works for your dog. I’ve been around dogs most of my life and am comfortable with all ages (puppy to elderly). Our child is in a hybrid homeschool program so someone is home most days throughout the day to keep your pet company. Our child is a hybrid homeschool program so we are home 4 days a week all day and gone for an hour or two on school days for drop off and pick up. We have a fenced yard and live close to dog friendly beaches and trails. If you have a cat you need a sitter for, we are available for drop-ins or to stay at your residence because our dog has strong opinions about the feline species.

About: I’ve always been known as that person who animals just tend to trust. I’ve been told on many occasions how certain animals don’t like people but for whatever reason they give me a chance and I love when I get to show them love and prove that their fur babies made the right choice trusting me. Even when I was a baby I used surround myself with all sorts of animals because I love all of them so much. I hope to have the opportunity to give all the love I can to all the animals willing to give me a chance. I do take night classes Monday- Thursday typically anywhere from about 5-9 and I work days that I don’t have school. I’m very flexible but Monday-Thursdays are usually best for walks and drop ins. From how I’ve been described by others, I’m a very friendly, trusting, and loving person and everyone and their pets can expect that from me as well. As far as other peoples houses and everything I like to leave things the way I found it or better.

Lou responded quickly to our request for a sitter and all other subsequent questions. We needed a sitter who could come to our hotel room and watch our dog while we went out to dinner. He arrived on time and bonded with our dog immediately. We felt very comfortable leaving her in his care. We would most definitely use Lou again and would recommend him to anyone vacationing in Cambria and looking for a sitter.

FAQs for House Sitting - Cambria

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Cambria on Rover is $111 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 225 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Cambria. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Cambria walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Cambria maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Cambria choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Cambria. On Rover:

  • 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 90% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
