“Marla was very easy to work with. She has a calm and flexible demeanor. She took good care of our Maizie in our home, allowing us to feel comfortable and relaxed when we were away. We highly recommend Marla for pet sitting and look forward to calling on her in the future!”

About: I’ve spent a lifetime caring for animals and children. I’ve owned many dogs, been around horses and farms, worked as a nanny, and cared for friends’ and family’s pets while they traveled. Animals and children naturally seem to trust me—I’ve yet to meet a child or a dog I didn’t adore, or who didn’t warm up to me. As a self-employed hairstylist rebuilding my clientele, I have a flexible schedule and plenty of time to devote to pet care. With no children or dogs of my own at home, I’m able to give your pets lots of personal attention, companionship, walks, playtime, and love. Caring for your pets fits naturally into my lifestyle. I have years of hands-on experience with dogs and have attended several dog and puppy training classes. I’m comfortable with crate routines, safe leash handling, walking, brushing, playtime, and keeping dogs secure and under control. I also love giving them plenty of exercise and attention—from playing ball and long doggy walks to fun outings and beach adventures.

About: I have grown up with and taken care animals since I can remember from dogs and cats to fish and birds to even chickens! I have watched puppies and senior dogs. I currently work from home as a secretary so I have a lot of free time in between calls and invoicing to love on and care for your pet. I also can work anywhere, not just at home. With the help of my fiancé, Tristan, we will definitely take care of your pets with care! I can take care of your fur baby like you would depending on your preferences. I can crate your pet if needed and take them on the walks and exercise that they my need.
“Kiah was top notch! Very communicative and sent lots of pics and videos. She stayed 2 nights in my home and my dog who is used to not a lot of different people caring for her, did really well with Kiah. You can tell she knows a lot about dogs and how to approach them to meet them where they are at and provide what they need. My dog also takes a thyroid pill 2x per day and she was great about giving her the medication. It is so nice to have peace of mind when you are away with your home and with your furry family member.”

About: With more than 15 years of pet-sitting experience, I bring a lifetime of genuine love, patience, and dedication to every pet in my care. I understand that leaving your furry family member with someone else can be stressful, so I make their comfort, safety, and happiness my top priorities. What sets me apart is the personalized care I provide. I take the time to learn each pet’s unique personality, routine, preferences, and needs—from favorite toys and walking routes to feeding schedules and special instructions. Whether your pet is energetic, shy, elderly, or needs extra attention, I treat them like family and make sure they feel safe, loved, and comfortable while you’re away. With me, your pet receives more than basic care—they receive companionship, affection, and plenty of one-on-one attention. My goal is for every pet to feel at home and for every pet parent to have complete peace of mind. 🐾💕 I’m currently working full time but I’m self employed and make my own schedule so I can sit and walk pets around my schedule and I can pet sit overnights. I will care for them like my own and abide by the owners inside and outside rules and regulations. I adjust to different circumstances or situations.
“Pauline was absolutely great with my girl Juna. She is kind, very thorough and a very responsible dog sitter who will love on your dog as much, if not more, than you do. Would highly recommend her services. Thanks Pauline!”

“Great! We had Carlos house-sit for our two dogs and plethora of outdoor plants. He was great with our dogs, took them on daily walks, and even watered our outdoor plants during our 5 night trip. We are always pleased to be able to use Rover instead of board at a kennel, and we will call Carlos again!”

“Robyn was absolutely wonderful with Peggy. She went above and beyond to make sure Peggy was at ease while we were gone. She was on time and very communicative. It was such a relief when Peggy was absolutely excited to see Robyn the second day. Would 100% percent recommend Robyn! Thank you!!”

No matter the breed, size, or special need, I make sure every dog gets the individual patience, treats, and affection they deserve! “Brittany was able to dog sit for us on back to back nights on short notice both times. Bobby warmed up to her immediately and didn’t want her to leave at the end of the night. Brittany was super responsive throughout the booking process and during the evening. We would definitely book Brittany again.”

“We actually ended up taking our dogs over to Janice’s house, where they spent the night. Janice sent pictures of the dogs enjoying themselves thoroughly; sitting on laps, lounging on the couch and generally being spoiled! We could see that they were well taken care of and”

About: I am reliable and very responsible with all fur babies! I am confident in CPR for animals, but still working on certification. I have a deep passion for animals, and it translates through the way I interact with them! I am finishing my masters degree in clinical psychology and have lots of time on my hands as I wait for my associate number to work as a therapist! Many services I provide include walking, housesitting, potty training, bathing and other basic needs. I want to keep your fur baby busy throughout the day!!
About: My name is Lacey, and I have been an avid pet lover my whole life. My mom was like Dr. Doolittle, so I’ve had a large variety of strange animals as pets (including an alpaca, opossums, mice, etc.) and loved them all the same! Currently I have an orange cat named Baby, and she has the most personality. I am so so so excited to meet new furry friends through this experience. I graduated from the University of Nebraska Lincoln and am now in California pursuing acceptance into medical school. In the meantime I am trying to earn some extra money, and this opportunity to do that via hanging out with cute animals was just too good to be true. Can’t wait to meet you and your pet :)

Marla was a wonderful sitter for our dog. We were running late and had to pick him up close to midnight. She had taken very good care of him, making sure he was , bathroomed and tucked in for the night. When I picked him up he was sleeping soundly. Happy I found her on such short notice!
So grateful to have connected with Victoria. Our pup is used to us being around 24/7. Being new to the area we needed to find someone we could trust. She met us to do a meet and greet. Then we decided to have her help for a few hours before an upcoming trip. Our pup had the biggest smile on her face when we got home because of how much love and play she had while we were gone. She will be our go to from now on!

We just love Emily! This is the second time we have used her and she is such a great pet sitter! This time she actually stayed the night to watch our boy so we could do a staycaytion. Her communication with us was great, she was able to manage all of Mojo's medications with no problem and even handled a small issue at the house with no problem. So glad we finally someone we feel like we can rely on to actually do what they say they will and we will definitely use Emily again in the future!
Nicki was wonderful! Was supportive of Jack's separation anxiety and let us know how he was doing. It was wonderful for us to know that he had a person who cared about keeping him calm and feeling secure and safe. Even the cats loved her! Looking forward to having her watch Jack in the future.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Paso Robles walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Paso Robles maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Paso Robles choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Paso Robles. On Rover:
- 98% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 90% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
