About: I have taken care of pets since I was a child. We groom our cocker spaniels. If you want your dog bathed or groomed we can provide the service for an additional fee. Your dog will be loved and have playmates while you are away. My husband Marcus and I will feed and walk your pet. Walking is usually 1 time a day unless other instructions are given. We crate our dogs at night. I work weekends in a hospital. Marcus and our children are home on the weekends. Weekdays we are both home. We provide care and love around the clock. Marcus and/or I will always be there for your loved one. We have a fenced yard and 10 dogs to play with your dog. We will feed, walk and play with your fur baby. If you’re fur baby needs a bath or a groom we could possibly provide that service. We bathe, dry and groom our 7 cocker spaniels, yorkpompoo, and cavalier King Charles spaniel at home.
“Abigail was great with our two cats! She gave us peace of mind while traveling and was even able to give our older cat her subcutaneous fluids while we were gone! She let us know how each visit went and sent pictures.”

About: I have been pet sitting since I was 16 years old. I am often asked by coworkers of family to house sit during their vacations. I have pet sat dogs, cats, fish, and even chickens! I am comfortable waking, giving medication, and cuddling (my personal favorite), whatever your pup needs! I have two dogs of my own. One of my dogs is a senior and is high need due to his bone cancer. He requires daily medication and will until we are able to remove the leg. My other pup is a rambunctious lab, who is high drive and needs daily stimulation so he doesn’t anger his older brother. I often take him on walks or use the pond near our home to tire him out! I am used to house sitting in all types of homes. If your pup needs a daily walk I am can do that. If they’re an outside pup we can take a walk or even a hike! I stay at the home and don’t leave often. I ask that a physical copy of directions are left so that I can give the 100% proper care and able to contact through phone as well!
About: My name is Emily. I work full time in public service and I am a dog mom to a Golden Doodle named Rudy. I have 4+ years of working in animal care from working in shelters, as a veterinary assistant, and have cared for my neighbor's pets when needed. I am able to administer medications and care for any pets that have special needs due to having experienced working in both small and large animal clinics. I will treat your fur baby like my own! I currently have availability on week days in the evening and weekends all day. In the summer from end of June to mid - July I will have all day availability as well. My dog Rudy is very friendly and can accompany on visits if permitted or requested. I have a park close to my house and can commute to any area for a needed walk.
About: I have been dog-sitting for my neighbor’s and family members for about 8 years with various breeds. I have experience in distributing medicine and general hygiene to help ensure your pet stays looking and feeling their best. I am a college student at NKU and also work part time on my college campus. While that sounds like a crazy schedule my absolute joy is being able to watch animals. I will always make time to help anyone out and strive to respond within 1-5 minutes to bookings requests or availability. My favorite job is being able to help others out so it’s one less thing you have to worry about and I get to watch your pet which is the highlight of my day. I have a 7-year-old dog named Bailey and she is a mixed breed. I do general and daily hygiene for my dog, including teeth brushing, bathing, ear cleaning, and cleaning her paws. My dog Bailey also has some anxiety so I am not new to some animals who become shaky or nervous. My dog loves to be outside and in the sun, so I ensure we have some sunbathing time in our day and time to roll around in the grass.

About: Hello I'm Lauren. I've got a pupper of my own named Layla. We love long walks in the evenings, playing ball, and long naps during the day. I work in the field of recreation so I like to be out and about but love to come home and cuddle at night. I've been working with pets since owning 13 rabbits when I was little. I have experience with big, little, and medium sized dogs and will work with behavioral issues as well. I do require that the animals that come to my house be crate trained for when I am at work or I can pet sit from your home if you prefer your pets to be out all day. Either way I'd love to meet your little darling/darlings.

About: I am new to the area! I have had an extensive foster care history over the past 3 years prior to relocating. I adore all fur babies but have the most experience with elder and special needs pups. I love animals, big and small. I have my own sweetheart pup and live with two cat friends (plus a lizard). I work as a nurse. Medication administration is no problem at all if needed as well. Please help cure my foster withdrawal and let me be there for your furry family members! I currently am taking a break from full time nursing to focus on enjoying life more. With advance notice, I can be available most days/times. Don’t let that discourage same day requests though! I take the time to learn pet needs and enjoy getting to know their personalities. The approach I use for each animal is based on what they respond best to. I encourage families to share likes and dislikes of their animal friends to promote a low stress environment as they get to know me. I can administer medication, take them for car rides or walks if desired. Companionship in any form is something I look forward to providing them!!
About: Able to take care of all dogs regardless of size and breed. Able to enrich their lives while in my care. Provide medication and use medical equipment as needed. Able to help out as much as possible during the weekends as I am generally available. Able to stay at your residence, conduct daily visits, or work something out to ensure they are well taken care of. If you’re anything like me, you treat your pet as your own child. Whatever is needed will be taken care of. Food, water, enrichment, walks, medication, litter/yard waste clean-up.
“Naomi took excellent care of our Kitties! With her knowledge & love for all cats we felt fortunate & confident with our Kitties in her care. Her attention to bringing in the mail & daily photos/videos was an extra bonus! 5🌟 all the way! We will rebook and would highly recommend!”

“Kristen was absolutely wonderful with our cats & nana’s dog, Arrow! She kept in touch often! Always reassuring us everything was ok! We had a great vacation without having to worry about our fur babies! We will schedule with Kristen again! Thank you, Kristen!”

About: Hi! My name is Kate Palmer, and I recently graduated from the University of Cincinnati 🎓❤️ I just started on Rover and am looking for pet sitting opportunities because I genuinely love animals and caring for them! 🐶🐱 Although I’m new to Rover, I have years of caregiving experience through nannying for multiple families, which has taught me how to be patient, responsible, attentive, and dependable. Right now, I nanny, but my schedule depends on when the family needs me, so I have a very flexible schedule and lots of availability 😊 I grew up around dogs and lots of cats, so caring for animals has always been a big part of my life 🐾 My parents have a dog that I help care for often, and I also have two cats of my own! Because of this, I’m very familiar with daily pet routines, different personalities, and making animals feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I love being active, going on walks, playing with pets, and making sure they feel happy and well cared for while their owners are away 🦴☀️ I understand trusting someone new with your pets can feel nerve-wracking, especially with a new Rover sitter, but I truly care about providing the best care possible and treating every pet like my own 💛 I’m very detail-oriented, communicative, and reliable, and I would love the opportunity to help care for your pets while also growing my experience on Rover 😊🐾 -Kate💓 I recently graduated from the University of Cincinnati, so I have a very flexible schedule right now alongside babysitting and am currently looking for full-time opportunities. Because of this, I’m available throughout the week for walks, drop-ins, pet sitting, and even last-minute bookings. Caring for animals already fits naturally into my everyday life, I grew up with dogs and cats, help care for my parents’ dog, and have two cats of my own! I genuinely love spending time with animals and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, active, and well cared for while their owners are away 💛 I always want pets to feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away. In a client’s home, I make sure to follow their pet’s normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, medications if needed, and any special instructions. I know how important consistency is for animals and I always treat both pets and homes with respect and care. Since I have a dog and two cats of my own, I’m very familiar with reading animal behavior, giving pets attention and patience, and making sure they feel calm and cared for. I also keep owners updated with messages and photos so they can feel comfortable knowing their pet is in good hands!
About: I am … obsessed with animals. I have been taking care of pets my entire childhood and after graduating college, started raising my own! I was a nanny and dogsitter all throughout college and I have a genuine love for all animals, big and small. I am currently working a hybrid job, so my schedule is very flexible. I also live with my husband, who has been a veterinary technician since 2016. We can handle all kinds of medications, special needs, etc plus one of us is almost always home! I consider myself to be very patient and kind when dealing with others’ pets. I know how important it is to me that my fur baby is taken care of when I’m away, so I promise to treat yours just like my own. I love meeting pets of all ages and kinds, and promise to give each and every one the love they deserve!!! Between my husband and I, someone is almost always home! I wot a flexible hybrid schedule. My husband is currently in school so he’s away for a couple hours for classes a few days per week and then comes right back home. But we’re always willing and able to accommodate things outside of our schedule, just ask! If providing care in my home, I have one older dog named Teddy. We also have a dog park at my apartment complex and lots of places to walk nearby. If providing care at your home, let me know your preferences! I’m happy to walk your baby or just snuggle, whatever you want.
About: I have dog sitted for close friends and work colleagues during graduate school. I am still new to dog sitting but I take direction very well and I am willing to learn new things and meet new people! I am currently a pharmacy resident and work mainly during the weekdays from 7am-5pm and work every other weekend starting this upcoming July. My availability for June is open during the afternoons and most early morning for weekdays and open on weekends! I make a point to follow instructions to a T, and if there are opportunities to go above and beyond, I will do so. If dog sitting, I make sure to give the utmost attention to your pet while also meeting your expectations. As for house sitting, I like to treat a home as if it were my own: tidy and organized.

About: I've had pet since my earliest memories. On top of caring for pets of my own, including cats, dogs, reptiles, arachnids, and more, I also fostered animals in southern Indiana for 5+ years. Now that I'm in the Cincinnati area I want to find a way to help animals again so I joined Rover! I currently work as a contractor for a delivery company so I choose my own hours, this way I have time to fit in the furry friends. I can come any time, day or night! When caring for pets in someones home I always make sure to have a list of things the pet parents want to make sure is done. I also make sure all cabinets and doors are secure before leaving a room, this way pets can't get into anything they shouldn't. When outside with the pups, I always make sure to keep them on the outside away from the road when walking on sidewalks.

Alyssa was absolutely wonderful! She was very communicative and ensured she had all of the information prior to accepting the booking! Unfortunately, due to a last minute booking on my part, I wasn’t able to do a meet and greet but my pups absolutely loved her! She let me know every time she was coming over, sent plenty of photos, and loved on my babies. I’m so grateful for her responsiveness and her keeping my sweet pups company while I was away! Will definitely book again :)

A pet sitter can provide focused care sessions, help your pet’s routine stay on track, or keep you updated on your pet’s mood and energy levels.
Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a California stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.
Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in California. On Rover:
- 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
