About: I am a long-time cat owner and used to take care of three cats at home. I am very familiar with daily cat care, including feeding, cleaning litter boxes, brushing, and observing health and behavior changes. Create a calm, secure environment where even the most "spicy" or shy cats can feel at ease. Pet care fits well into my routine during evenings and weekends. On weekdays, I am available in the evenings for feeding, check-ins, playtime, and companionship. On weekends, I have more flexible availability and can provide longer visits and more attentive care. I maintain a safe, pet-proofed home environment specifically designed for feline comfort. I strictly follow the owner's detailed instructions regarding feeding schedules, hygiene, and any medical needs. I prioritize clear communication, providing daily photo and video updates so owners feel completely at peace knowing their beloved pets are in a secure and loving home.

About: I’ve been a lifelong dog lover and have had the privilege of raising both rescue dogs and a purebred Golden Retriever over the years. Each one has shaped how I care for animals—with patience, understanding, and a lot of love. In our home, pets truly are family. Their happiness, comfort, and well-being are always a top priority, just as if they were children. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your dog, and I take that responsibility seriously. I’m known for being kind, conscientious, and reliable—not just with dogs, but with people too. I’ll always communicate clearly, show up when I say I will, and make sure you feel confident your pet is in good hands. I’m currently working part-time, which allows me to dedicate quality time and attention to the pets in my care. My approach is simple—I care for every pet as if they were my own. That means plenty of exercise tailored to your dog’s individual needs, along with a strong focus on mental stimulation through enrichment, play, and engagement—not just walks. In a client’s home, I respect your pet’s routine and environment, keeping things as consistent as possible to reduce stress. I make sure they receive plenty of attention, exercise, and mental stimulation, while also giving them the patience and calm presence they need to feel at ease. I care for every pet as if they were my own—prioritizing their comfort, happiness, and well-being at all times.

About: I've had dogs since I was a kid, I'm used to big, high energy, and stubborn dogs of all ages! We've been fostering pups on and off for over a decade. We have a senior dog and an 11 month old puppy at home and have cared for 5 foster pups in 2026 alone. I'm currently off work with a disability and have been taking care of dogs and puppies on a volunteer basis/as a foster. I'm taking a break from fostering and figured I could do this in the meantime! Since I'm not currently working I can offer a lot of time, energy, training and care to a dog. We have a 11 month old female husky x puppy at our house who is incredible with other dogs and loves to play all day long! We have a fenced yard. I'm home all day, and my wife works from home so we can hang out with and keep an eye on your dog(s). We can crate your pooch if necessary overnight or if we need to pop out and we have small medium and xl crates at home. We have 2 kids at home 14 and 4 who love to help out and play.

About: I have taken care of friend’s and family’s pets while they were away travelling for the last couple of years. I also have a year of experience working at a dog shelter in Montreal. I work a night shift for FedEx from approx 3am-8/9am. So if you reach out for a booking after 4:30pm you will likely hear back overnight once I’m awake! If I board a pet at my home, there will be plenty of other dogs in my building to meet and play in the yard. If I dog sit at someone’s home, I do my best to keep them as comfortable as possible. I know it can be stressful when owners leave.

About: I’ve had pets my whole life, and shared the past 15 years every single day with my dogs. I wouldn’t change it for the world. I’m available most days and evenings with notice. Being a home body makes for great pet sitting. I live in a pet friendly condo that I own. My home consists of one small, elderly female dog and one young cat. I have many tropical plants; only pets who know boundaries with plants can be accommodated. There is no smoking or drinking here, as I like to maintain a quiet home. We have no children or frequent visitors. Pets are fed twice daily or as needed, and walked 3-4x per day based on needs. Bike rides offered for high energy dogs. I live close to a leash/ off leash dog park. I can offer basic grooming, training, and exercise as needed. I’m proficient with administering medication.

About: I grew up around animals and have years of hands-on experience with both dogs and cats. I prioritize creating a safe, calm, and loving environment for every pet, whether in my home or the client’s. I follow all care instructions carefully, keep hazardous items out of reach, and supervise pets closely during walks and playtime. Sarah arrived on time, and I could see she was so excited to be walking the two dogs. She asked all the right questions about the dogs behaviour and walking basics, anything to be mindful of etc. Both dogs took instantly to her, and rubbed her legs for attention with their heads, for any extra strokes! Not only did both dogs really enjoy the walk - Sarah asked if she could do an extended one (no extra charge) and so I agreed - I am in need of a pet sitter for a few days next week, and to be honest I think i've found my new go to! Thank you Sarah.

My large dog, Percy has been having a hard time with other dogs lately. My two dogs and I met Alicia at the large dog park in the afternoon. I must admit I was a bit worried to turn Percy over to Alicia since he has been nervous lately. She was awesome. Immediately she took Percy's leash and helped me carry Poochie to the park. Poochie and I held back and Alicia took Percy off for a faster walk. She observed him and was able to lead him in directions that kept him calm. I was very happy that they both worked out quite well. Thank you Alicia for your help and experience. <3

There are 352 sitters on Rover for Dog Walking in Winnipeg. About 88% of Winnipeg sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you’re planning ahead for holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day coverage for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

Whether you want a solo or group walk depends on your dog's personality. Solo walks can be beneficial for dog parents with reactive dogs, puppies, or dogs who are anxious around unfamiliar animals. Many dog walkers on Rover offer private, one-on-one walking services.

Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in Winnipeg. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighbourhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.

Tip: Keep in mind that many cities in Canada require your dog walker to have a permit or licence for group walks.

For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. Report cards require photos and can include a map of the walking route , total walk time, poop and pee breaks, and distance travelled, so you know exactly where your dog has been walking in Winnipeg.

Got specific details you'd like the dog walker to include? Message them in the app before your dog’s walk begins.

While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits, dog walking, and doggy day care. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover card updates, and same-day cancellations.

To find walkers in Winnipeg with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.

Every walker on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Winnipeg choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

  • 83% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 100% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
